Kay C. Adler: "The Sit-In at Read's was Monumental!

February 21st, 2012

from: Bill Hughes

On Saturday, Feb. 18, 2012, at noon, a demonstration was held in front of the former Read's Drug Store, located at the corner of Lexington & Howard Streets, in Baltimore, MD. It was the site of an historic Civil Rights' sit-in action, in 1955. The activists at the rally want to preserve the building and "Baltimore's Black History." Kay C. Adler, a native of Baltimore and a social justice advocate, shared her views with me about the significance of this historic site.
