US Phony War on Terror

April 6th, 2017

Stephen Lendman

America seeks global conquest and dominance, a diabolical agenda threatening humanity’s survival.

Its so-called war on terror is a fabricated hoax - state-sponsored terror to advance its imperium by smashing one sovereign independent state after another.

Democracy and humanitarian intervention are Washington’s most destructive exports, aiming to be the world’s judge, jury, executioner and dominant power, a pure evil agenda.

Monied interests are served at the expense of popular ones. Washington rules replaced international laws, norms and standards.

Anything goes is US policy, no matter the human cost or risk of catastrophic nuclear war. Terrorism is what they do, not us.

After the Soviet Union dissolved, Muslims replaced communism as America’s target of choice, its pretext for waging war on humanity, ongoing endlessly in multiple theaters, new ones planned, aiming to replace all sovereign independence governments with pro-Western puppet regimes.

Fascist harshness masquerades as democratic governance, everyone at risk worldwide. Wars have momentum of their own, easy to launch, hard to end, especially with bipartisan support for waging them endlessly.

Enemies are invented to justify them. Fear-mongering enlists public support. Political rhetoric defends the indefensible.

Howard Zinn once asked “(h)ow can you make war on terrorism if war is terrorism” - the worst kind, state-sponsored, the highest of high crimes.

US war strategy involves dividing and conquering targeted nations, the diabolical plan for Syria.

It involves balkanizing the country, part of a broader US/Israel scheme to redraw the Middle East map - why US special forces and combat troops invaded northern Syrian territory.

They’re aided by US-led “coalition” terror bombing - targeting vital infrastructure and government sites, not terrorists as claimed, massacring civilians in harm’s way.

Russia’s September 2015 intervention in Syria at the behest of Assad changed the dynamic on the ground, letting government and allied forces liberate areas controlled by US-supported terrorists.

Assad must go rhetoric changed. At a press conference in Ankara with his Turkish counterpart, US Secretary of State Tillerson said “the longer-term status of President Assad will be decided by the Syrian people.”

Separately in New York, US UN envoy Nikki Haley said “(y)ou pick and choose your battles, and when we’re looking at this, it’s about changing up priorities and our priority is no longer to sit there and focus on getting Assad out.”

“Do we think he’s a hindrance? Yes. Are we going to sit there and focus on getting him out? No. What we are going to focus on is putting the pressure in there so that we can start to make a change in Syria.”

America didn’t wage over six years of war on the country to back off from wanting pro-Western governance replacing its sovereign independence.

Strategy changed, not Washington’s imperial objective. It’s northern Syrian presence aims for controlling the territory, balkanizing the country, destroying the Syrian Arab Republic as it now exists.

Trump earlier said he’ll “absolutely do safe zones in Syria for the people.”

Last week, Tillerson said Washington intends establishing “interim zones of stability” in Syria and Iraq, without further elaboration.

Assad called US forces “invaders,” operating illegally, aiding anti-government terrorists, not combating them as falsely claimed.

No-fly or safe zones in foreign countries are illegal without Security Council authorization, not forthcoming with certain Russian and likely Chinese veto power.

Assad rejects them. So does Moscow without his permission. Syrians won’t be safe until terrorism is defeated, illegal sanctions lifted, and all US forces are out of the country.

Russia supports Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, along with the right of its people to decide who’ll lead them.

Washington’s agenda is polar opposite, waging wars of aggression in multiple theaters to force its will on other nations - risking possible nuclear war to eliminate Russia and China as rival powers.
