Like others promoting constitutional amendments, Senator Russ Feingold, Democrat, Wisconsin, apparently is unaware of the refusal by Congress to obey Article V of the Constitution. He has a fine idea: every senator must actually be elected rather than appointed to that position. In 1913 the 17th amendment created the potential for governors to make appointments to fill Senate seats until the next regular scheduled general election and 38 states allow this; there have been 185 such appointments. Feingold is right to condemn “decisions being made solely by the powerful, without the consent, or even the input, of the people.”

“The Armenian Genocide, also known as the Armenian Holocaust, the Armenian Massacres and, by Armenians, the Great Calamity - refers to the deliberate and systematic destruction (genocide) of the Armenian population of the Ottoman Empire during and just after World War I. It was characterised by the use of massacres, and the use of deportations involving forced marches under conditions designed to lead to the death of the deportees, with the total number of Armenian deaths generally held to have been between one and one-and-a-half million.”

We are passing out of the age of irony and entering a stage of blame.
"Irony" has many connotations. For me, a suspicion of underlying processes and an expectation of disappointment cover much of what the word implies. Observing and comparing incongruities helps predict that manipulations are being engaged. We come to expect hidden motives. Quality relationship and communication become depreciated by expectation of differences between the hidden and the seen.

On Friday, March 13, the New Mexico Senate voted 24-18 to repeal the death penalty in that state. This action follows a corresponding vote in the New Mexico House of Representatives in February.
So the bill is on its way to Governor Bill Richardson's desk. The future of the death penalty in New Mexico is now in his hands.
And, unfortunately, he appears to be on the fence.

It is said that Galileo recanted but muttered under his breath --"but it does move". Galileo had sinned against the Church. He had dared to indulge an independent opinion, a 'right' that Americans have sadly taken for granted. Whether Galileo was more fortunate than Giordano who was burned is a matter of debate. In England, Sir Thomas More was given the choice between conscience or King. More chose conscience and paid for it with his life. Just as we moderns had grown complacent, a recent regime forced upon us an existentialist choice. By supporting the regime of George W. Bush, Americans are morally complicit in the crimes of aggressive war and mass murder.

The title refers to the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP), also known as the North American Union - formerly launched at a March 23, 2005 Waco, Texas meeting attended by George Bush, Mexico's President Vincente Fox, and Canadian Prime Minister Paul Martin. It's for a tri-national agreement, below the radar, for greater economic, political, and security integration with secret business and government working groups devising binding policies with no public knowledge or legislative debate.
In short, it's a military-backed corporate coup d'etat against the sovereignty of three nations, their populations and legislative bodies. It's a dagger through the heart of democratic freedom in all three, yet the public is largely unaware of what's happening.

Some people are predicting the collapse of the dollar and the economic collapse of America. Gerald Celente, founder and director of the Trends Research Institute has reason to believe that: "We’ll See the Worst U.S. Economic Collapse Ever" and Russian professor Igor Panarin claims that America's current economic crisis could not only spur the collapse of the Federal government, but could also result in America breaking up into a series of smaller nations. “Financial problems in the U.S. will worsen” says Panarin, Millions of citizens have already lost their savings. Prices and unemployment are on the rise. General Motors and Ford are on the verge of collapse; whole cities will be left without work. Governors are already insistently demanding money from the federal center. Unrest is growing, and at the moment it is only being held back by the hope that Obama can work miracles. But by spring, it will be clear that there are no miracles.

Charles Freeman is such an American patriot that he actually stuck his neck out even further and named the identity of those who blocked him, knowing as he knew that the usual suspects would deflect criticism by claiming he was out for some ridiculous and spurious reason.
I'm going to type slowly so that even the Noamites can follow. There are two American establishments, the WASP Old American Establishment, and the Jewish New American Establishment. You might think there would be a battle for control, but the Old American Establishment just gave up.
