Progressives Wonder: Where Are the “Changes” Obama Promised?

On Sunday morning, June 13, 2010, the Network of Spiritual Progressives (NSP), held a rally in Lafayette Park, opposite the White House. Their stated objective: “Prevent the corporate takeover of America.” Speaking at the rally were, among others: Rabbi Michael Lerner, Peter Gabel and Bill McKibben. Each of them shared their deep frustrations about President Barack Obama and his failure to come through on the changes, on a variety of issues, such as: symbolizing hope, working for peace and justice, and effectively addressing the matter of climate change, that he had promised that he would make, once elected, during the campaign.
