EU Leaders’ Big Lies to the Public

August 11th, 2015

Eric Zuesse

EurActive reported on Friday, August 7th, that, "Jean-Claude Juncker has responded to the public outcry over the immigration crisis by urging European leaders to show solidarity and resist the message of populist parties.” However, Juncker isn’t blaming the Obama Administration in Washington, which caused this crisis, and to which Europe’s aristocrats adhere.

In Libya, Syria, Ukraine, and other countries at the periphery or edges of Europe, U.S. President Barack Obama has been pursuing a policy of destabilization, and even of bombings and other military assistance, that drives millions of refugees out of those peripheral areas and into Europe, thereby adding fuel to the far-rightwing fires of anti-immigrant rejectionism, and of resultant political destabilization, throughout Europe, not only on its peripheries, but even as far away as in northern Europe.

Unconstitutional Senate Intelligence Authorization Act

August 11th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Freedom in America is being systematically destroyed one police state law at a time - with most people ignorant and/or indifferent about what happening.

Washington’s criminal class is bipartisan - in lockstep against government representing everyone equitably and fairly, serving privileged interests only.

S. Res. 1705: Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2016 compromises free expression and privacy rights already gravely eroded.

If enacted, Section 603 will require online companies to inform Washington of any “actual knowledge” of “facts and circumstances” related to undefined “terrorist activity” - meaning warrantless searches and seizures of personal electronic content will be authorized, potentially subjecting countless numbers of innocent people to unjustifiable scrutiny.

Ukraine Bans 14 ‘Artists,’ Mainly Russians, as ‘Threat to National Security’

August 11th, 2015

Eric Zuesse

On Saturday, August 8th, Ukraine’s Interfax News Service announced that the Security Bureau of Ukraine had just issued, on Friday, a list of 14 ‘artists’ (mainly Russian actors) who ‘pose a threat to Ukraine’s national security.’ The Ukrainian State Film Agency is, under Ukrainian law, now prohibited from authorizing or allowing distribution of their films or other works. These artists are thus officially banned.

The list also includes French actor Gerard Depardieu, and even Russian economist Mikhail Khazin.

Khazin claims that the gold price has been manipulated downward, and that gold is therefore way undervalued. In 2004, he published a book, The Decline of the Dollar Empire and the End of the Pax Americana.

Gitmo in Chicago Revisited

August 11th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

An earlier article discussed London Guardian revelations about Chicago police operating an “off-the-books (Homan Square) interrogation compound” - a “nondescript warehouse” using “CIA black site” practices.

Police brutality victims are lawlessly arrested, detained, denied access to lawyers, and tortured during secret interrogations. From September 2004 to July 2015, only three arrestees were visited by attorneys.

Unless all others waived their constitutional right, the facts show Chicago police lied saying “any individual who wishes to consult a lawyer will not be interrogated until they have an opportunity to do so.”

GH Eliason: US Congress and President Obama Officially Recognize Donbas’ Freedom!

August 10th, 2015

It’s true! President Barack Obama beat Russia’s President Putin to the punch by recognizing the right of Donbas to ascend to the fraternity of nations first. He has reaffirmed this every year he has been in office.

The Captive Nations Week Resolution passed by both the Senate and House of Representatives in 1959 and reissued as a Presidential Proclamation every year for the last 56 years (also known as Public Law 86-90) affirms the RECOGNITION of the “Don” ( Donetsk and Lugansk Peoples Republics are core countries of a Cossackia ) as well as a future Zaporozhyian Republic (currently Zaporozhye Oblast).

Cossackia is the American geopolitical term describing the regions where Cossacks lived in the former USSR and Russia. This proclamation is still CURRENT US law and tradition.

Strange Remembrance: From Hiroshima to Baghdad - What Have We Learned?

August 10th, 2015

Mahboob A. Khawaja

The 21st century politics is a game of vindictiveness, mutual fear and hatred – more so, amongst the competing superpowers including the United States, West Europeans, Russia and economically influential China. Japanese politicians cannot dare to question American rulers against the occupation and intellectual subservience. Most oil exporting Arab leaders enjoy the same deficient status. They are morally and intellectual conquered and dehumanized. Temples ring bells every year across Japan and hands are raised in prayers for peace and condemnation of the atomic bombs. But all are missing the real issues facing the future of global mankind. All wars are aimed at destruction of people, the habitats and the Nature of Things. The symbolic annual remembrance will not undo the infinite darkness shrouding the use of destructive atomic bombs to which large parts of the humanity are subjected.

By David Swanson

Let's do the count:

Senators rallying and whipping their colleagues to support the Iran agreement: 0.

Senators admitting that Iran has had no nuclear weapons program and has never threatened or been a threat to the United States: 0.

Senators pushing the false idea that Iran is a nuclear threat but indicating they will vote to support the agreement precisely in order to counter that threat: 16

Obama Heads for Full-Scale War on Syria

August 10th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

It’s been coming for a long time - facilitated by repeated Big Lies about Bashar al-Assad, ignoring his overwhelming public support, especially for defending Syria responsibly against imported Islamic State and other takfiri terrorists, enlisted by Washington as foot soldiers to topple his government.

Obama upped the stakes a year ago by authorizing the bombing of Syrian infrastructure targets, a bandit diktat without Security Council or congressional authorization - on the phony pretext of fighting IS.

Now in collaboration with Turkey, plans are to establish illegal buffer and no-fly zones in northern Syria bordering southeastern Turkey. Its airbases are being used to bomb Syrian sites - again on the phony pretext of fighting IS. Belligerent comments from Washington suggest full-scale war may be imminent.

Burning Churches Is Legitimate Under Jewish Law

August 10th, 2015

Reported by Gilad Atzmon

Commentators on modern Jewish history are often puzzled by the animosity of secular Jews toward gentiles. Particularly puzzling is the scale of Jewish ‘revolutionary’ violence towards Christianity and churches in particular. It is no secret that Bolshevism set many churches ablaze. The International Brigade followed a similar pattern in Spain (1936). It is an established fact that Yiddish was the lingua franca of the International Brigade that was formed following a tidal wave of Church burning by the Republicans. That act of barbarism didn’t seem to deter the salt of the Jewish Left who rushed to liberate Spain in the name of the ‘International’. And yet, historically, this kind of barbaric act was never associated with rabbinical Judaism.

Hiroshima and Nagasaki: Gratuitous Mass Murder

August 10th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

The atomic age began on August 6, 1945 in real time - after its July 16 pre-dawn open-air birth in successful Alamogordo, NM testing.

At the time, perhaps prophetically General Thomas Farrell said “(w)e were reaching into the unknown, and we did not know what might come of it.”

Called by some “the father of the atomic bomb,” Robert Oppenheimer quoted from the Bhagavad Gita saying: “Now I am become Death, the destroyer of worlds.”

August 6 marks the 70th anniversary of one of history’s great crimes, followed three days later by incinerating Nagasaki.

At least 200,000 died, many others scarred for life, future generations to this day harmed by radiologically caused birth defects and other serious health problems.

Big Lies still claim bombing both cities hastened war’s end and saved many lives. Truman informed the public deceitfully saying bombing Hiroshima “destroyed its usefulness to the enemy.”“It was to spare the Japanese people from (further) utter destruction…If they do not now accept our terms they may expect a rain of ruin from the air, the likes of which has never been seen on this earth.”
