Is Homeland Security Preparing for the Next Wall Street Collapse?

Reports are that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is engaged in a massive, covert military buildup. An article in the Associated Press in February confirmed an open purchase order by DHS for 1.6 billion rounds of ammunition. According to an op-ed in Forbes, that’s enough to sustain an Iraq-sized war for over twenty years. DHS has also acquired heavily armored tanks, which have been seen roaming the streets. Evidently somebody in government is expecting some serious civil unrest. The question is, why?
Recently revealed statements by former UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown at the height of the banking crisis in October 2008 could give some insights into that question. An article on BBC News on September 21, 2013, drew from an explosive autobiography called Power Trip by Brown’s spin doctor Damian McBride, who said the prime minister was worried that law and order could collapse during the financial crisis. McBride quoted Brown as saying:
If the banks are shutting their doors, and the cash points aren’t working, and people go to Tesco [a grocery chain] and their cards aren’t being accepted, the whole thing will just explode.
Government Shutdown Careens Toward Oct. 17 U.S. Debt Blowout

Other than LaRouche PAC, no signs of sanity have emerged in Washington, D.C. over the last 24 hours on the government shutdown. If anything, the two sides are more entrenched, reaching new heights of sophistry, and with no serious discussion of economic policy underway. Moreover, the shutdown crisis, now in its second day, is currently leading seamlessly towards a U.S. government default crisis as early as Oct. 17, when the debt ceiling will be reached. Judging by his actions, President Obama seems perfectly content to let the shutdown continue, and to bring on a default as well.But, as Lyndon LaRouche emphasized in discussions on Tuesday evening, this is not simply a budgetary crisis, or a debt crisis, or a political crisis. "It's inherently a breakdown crisis. There is no way this is going to be solved in a normal sense." The only "easy" solution is to implement LaRouche's full Glass-Steagall program, to pave the way towards a global renaissance around a fusion economy. Nothing else will work.

Incidents occur daily across America. Blacks and Latinos are most vulnerable. Police shoot innocent suspects for any reason or none all.
Rarely are officers or their superiors held accountable. On average, US police kill one or two people daily. Most often, incidents go unnoticed.
Violence in America is systemic. Previous articles discussed it. America glorifies wars. It does so in the name of peace.It has by far the highest homicide rate among all developed nations. It's obsessed with owning guns. Violent films are some of the most popular. So are similar video games. Peace, stability and security are convenient illusions. Imperial wars and domestic violence crowd them out.
FBI Lawless Unaccountability

NSA and CIA aren't America's only rogue agencies. The FBI's been around since 1908. From 1924 - 1972, J. Edgar Hoover ran it.
He did so extrajudicially. He did repressively. He waged war on freedom. He defended capital's divine right. He trashed democratic values.
He targeted alleged communists, anti-war, human and civil rights activists, political dissidents, the American Indian Movement, and Black Panther Party among other groups and individuals.
He did it no-holds-barred. So did his successors. Harassment, intimidation, false accusations, disinformation, and political assassinations are common agency practice.

One of the most amazing aspects of the resource wars is that within their own countries, most western powers have been able to stifle opposition for their participation, not to mention being able to suppress any real criticism of how they conduct themselves based on the laws of war.

I’m 17 or 18 and my parents have decided to buy me a new typewriter to replace the old East German “Optima” I’ve shared with my siblings since junior high! (Not sure to this day how we got an East German typewriter during the Cold War-nutty 50s and 60s, but… it worked well, even if it was heavy as a Volkswagon!) This is to be my “celebration” typewriter—now that I’m first in my extended family to go to college!
I spool the sheet of paper into place, a little past the new, inky red and black ribbon. Sweet, clicking sound as I roll; cold feel of metal against my palm as I slap the shiny return lever! The tactility of it all, the smell of it all!—something our electronically attuned youth will never know in their digitalized shell-worlds. I type from memory:

The US government’s spying program continues to grow because “it feeds on itself” and the American people should take action against such spying activities before it is too late, says American writer and activist Daniel Patrick Welch.
On Saturday, the New York Times reported the US National Security Agency has been using it huge collections of data on American citizens’ communications to construct sophisticated maps of their social connections.
The US spy agency has been using metadata, GPS locations, and voter records to identify Americans’ locations at certain times, their associates and travelling companions, and other personal information.
The administration of President Barack Obama defended the practice as perfectly legal and reasonable.
“People are clearly angry about it, more angry about the invasion of their privacy than they are fear-mongered into accepting it for national security,” said Welch in a phone interview with Press TV on Tuesday.
