Alleged Beersheba Attacker Identified

October 24th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

A same day article discussed the Sunday Beersheba, Israel bus station incident - killing an Israeli soldier, the attacker, an innocent Eritrean bystander lethally shot by police, and wounding nine others.

The alleged attacker was identified as Bedouin Israeli citizen Muhannad al-Aqabi, a Hura, Negev resident. His family members were questioned. Israel automatically assumes familial involvement in these type incidents.

One unidentified family member was arrested on suspicion of helping to plan the attack. Arrest nearly always means guilt by accusation. Expect brutalizing treatment to follow, then a likely confession in Hebrew most suspects don’t understand, youths and children especially vulnerable.

Scandalous NYT Anti-Palestinian Propaganda

October 24th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

The self-styled “newspaper of record” makes yellow journalism look good by comparison. Willfully falsified and distorted information substitutes for cold, hard truths. The Times’ coverage of ongoing violence in Occupied Palestine reveals its racist hatred - one-sidedly supporting Israel’s killing machine, vilifying Palestinians for courageous self-defense. They’re heroes, not villains, up against one of the world’s most ruthless regimes. The Times’ latest editorial blames Palestinians for Israeli high crimes - headlined “The Cycle of Violence,” ignoring Netanyahu-ordered state terror fully supported by Washington, vilifying Palestinian youths as knife-wielding terrorists.

Hillary Clinton Scores with Republican Donors

October 24th, 2015

Eric Zuesse

An analysis of Federal Election Commission records, by TIME, shows that the 2012 donors to Mitt Romney’s campaign have been donating more to Hillary Clinton’s 2016 campaign than they have been donating to the campaign of — listed here in declining order below Clinton — Lindsey Graham, Rand Paul, Carly Fiorina, Chris Christie, Rick Perry, Mike Huckabee, Donald Trump, Bobby Jindal, Rick Santorum, George Pataki, Martin O’Malley, Jim Web, Jim Gilmore, or Lawrence Lessig.

Clinton is the only Democratic candidate who is even moderately attractive to big Republican donors. In ascending order above Clinton, Romney’s donors have been donating to: John Kasich, Scott Walker, Ben Carson, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, and Jeb Bush. The top trio — of Bush, Cruz, and Rubio — have, together, received about 60% of all the money donated this time around, by the people who had funded Mitt Romney’s 2012 drive for the White House.

Hillary Clinton Pretends to Be Progressive: She’s Actually Conservative

October 24th, 2015

Eric Zuesse

The contrast between Hillary Clinton’s stated positions and her actual record, is stark.

The record shows that she actually supports international trade treaties that allow the participating countries to allow international corporations to murder labor union organizers to keep wages down. Her financial backers include many of the controlling stockholders in corporations that shift jobs overseas to lower-wage nations so as to boost their stock-profits and executive compensation (those executives are paid largely by stock options in the companies they run — the more the stock rises, the bigger their pay); and portions of those takes by the top executives and other top owners of international corporations end up in the political campaign chests of conservative U.S. politicians such as of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and virtually all Republicans — i.e., of corrupt or otherwise conservative politicians. But this article will deal only with Hillary Clinton.

Israel Bans Free Expression

October 24th, 2015

Stephen Lendman

Israel heads perilously closer to becoming a full-blown police state - for Jews as well as Arabs.

It’s been one for Palestinians since its 1948 War of Aggression, mischaracterized as an independence war, displacing or murdering 800,000 indigenous residents, then occupation in June 1967 of the remaining land not initially stolen.

Palestinians have no free expression or assembly rights. Protests and demonstrations are strictly forbidden - as well as public ruling authority criticism - in flagrant violation of international human rights laws.

Israel calls public demonstrations of any kind “illegal assemblies,” subject to brutal military and police responses, including live fire, extrajudicial killings, mass arrests, imprisonments and torture.

Subject: Prayer Line Spiritual Request

October 23rd, 2015

By Robert Singer

Am I obligated to do something about the Children who died in Los Angeles county, or for that matter all over the United States, because The Child Protection System Is Broken and the family court system is corrupt? [Appendix B]

He has told you, O mortal, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God? Mic. 6:8

If any of you put a stumbling block before one of these little ones who believe in me, it would be better for you if a great millstone were hung around your neck and you were thrown into the sea. Mark 9:42

Do these verses require a follower of Jesus to protect the young and the innocent specifically when they are aware about the injustice and cruelty in a system that allowed over 500 children to die a cruel and horrible death in the last 24 months?

When paramedics arrived, eight-year old Gabriel Fernandez was not conscious. His skull was cracked. Three ribs were broken. Bruises and burns covered his body. Two teeth were knocked out of his mouth. X-rays would later show that the third-grader had BB pellets embedded in his lung and groin. Gabriel's mother, Pearl Fernandez, 29, and her boyfriend Isauro Aguirre, 32, told the paramedics that Gabriel's injuries were self-induced. Later Aguirre said that he delivered ten or so blows to Gabriel's stomach for lying and "being dirty."

Europe Secretly Starts Imposing TTIP Despite the Public’s Overwhelming Opposition

October 23rd, 2015

Eric Zuesse

The terms of Obama’s proposed TPP ‘trade’ treaty with Asian countries won’t be made public until the treaty has already been in force for at least four years. The terms of Obama’s proposed TISA (Trade In Services Agreement) with 52 nations won’t be made public until the treaty has already been in force for at least five years. Obama’s proposed TTIP treaty with European countries has been so successfully hidden, that even the number of years it will be kept from the public isn’t yet known. Hello, international fascism — all in secret, until too late for the public to do anything.

But in Europe, things are being rushed, just in case secrecy breaks and the treaty fails to pass. The European Union is already secretly imposing provisions from the secret Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) treaty, even before anyone has signed it, and even before it has been formally approved in any nation. This was revealed over the last weekend in two places:

Violence Achieves One Thing Only - More of It

October 23rd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Lunatics in Washington and Israel use premeditated violence as a way to stoke more of it, keep nations and Occupied Palestine in a permanent state of turmoil and chaos, then blame victims for their high crimes - perhaps the dirtiest game of all, causing genocidal slaughter and destruction as well as unspeakable human misery.

Both nations are more feared and hated than any others for good reason - pariah states by any standard, run by lunatic barbarians.

Both prohibit democracy and commit the most egregious human rights abuses. Both long ago adopted state terror and genocide as official policy.

Both serve monied interests exclusively, grievously harming the great majority of their own people. Both wage endless wars of aggression.

Rampaging State-Sponsored Israeli Settlers

October 23rd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Israeli settlements are infested with Arab-hating Zionist zealots - permitted to freely terrorize defenseless Palestinians including young children, committing daily acts violence and vandalism, at times cold-blooded murder with impunity.

Israeli authorities do nothing to stop them, de facto encouragement to rampage freely, often protected by soldiers and police - notably when they disruptively enter the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound where they don’t belong, commit vigilante attacks against young children, farmers in their fields, holy places or homes by settling them ablaze. Yesh Din Volunteers for Human Rights receive daily complaints from abused Palestinians, notably during recent weeks of Israeli instigated violence, settlers attacking them at home, in vehicles, in village areas, in fields, virtually anywhere in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

TTIP: The Aristocracy Aren’t Satisfied; They Demand More

October 23rd, 2015

Eric Zuesse,

A new analysis of the Obama-proposed TTIP ‘trade’ treaty, which the U.S. would have with Europe, finds that it was initiated and shaped by large international corporations, which will, also according to the only independent economic analysis that has thus far been done of TTIP (Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership), be the only beneficiaries of the proposed Treaty — all at the expense of the publics in each one of the participating countries.

This new study is titled “Public Services Under Attack,” but it’s about more than just the proposed treaty’s impacts upon replacing “Public Services” by private services.Corporate Europe headlined about this study on October 12th, "Public services under attack through TTIP and CETA,” and listed 15 of what they consider to be the report’s highlights. The following will instead quote extensively from the study itself, so that this summary will come mainly from the report itself.
