Revolutionary new physics could lead to ultimate weapons of mass destruction

September 18th, 2009

Roland Michel Tremblay

As a sci-fi author and science consultant for films and television documentaries, I have made it my mission to seek out every alternate theory out there – no matter how crazy they may seem – to explore any possibility of new physics that might be uncovered and put to use. That is, until I came across something so perfect and convincing that I had to stop in my tracks.

I now realize, to my complete astonishment, that the true Theory of Everything already exists, in a book published soon after the new millennium – you just haven’t heard about it yet. Who is this author, Mark McCutcheon, and what is this book, The Final Theory, that I have read? My God! This is not the usual crackpot theory used as fodder for some lame sci-fi TV series; this is it – the first truly viable new physics to have ever arisen.

NEW 'HUMANKIND' - "WE are the leaders we've been looking for"

September 18th, 2009

Grace Boggs

American author, feminist, social activist Grace Boggs at 94 - thoughts worth pondering. Excerpted, compiled, edited by Carolyn Bennett

You cannot change any society unless you take responsibility for it, unless you see yourself as belonging to it, and responsible for changing it.

'If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom and deprecate agitation are men who want crops without plowing up the ground, rain without thunder and lightning' [Frederick Douglass].

For most people including myself this oft-quoted passage from Frederick Douglass sums up all that we had to learn from him. We viewed revolutionary struggle mainly as the oppressed standing up, rebelling against an external enemy, and (not yet) as two-sided transformation. Thus revolutionary leadership meant only agitation and mobilization.

Israel/America: A Rambling Poem

September 18th, 2009

Remi Kanazi

I recently appeared on GRITtv with Laura Flanders to perform a spoken word poem entitled Israel/America: A Rambling Poem. The poem appeared after a segment on BDS (Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions).

I recognize this is not the traditional format, but because of the overt political nature of the piece, I thought it may be of interest.

I am the editor of the recently released collection of poetry, Poets For Palestine. I will be touring the US and Canada this fall on the upcoming Poets For Palestine tour.

Why Obama is the President of War not “Change”

September 18th, 2009

Joshua Blakeney

It is such a bitter irony that the son of a formerly colonized Kenyan should now become the colonizer, advancing the interests of the mostly white power elite [3] With his administration of war mongers, corporate lickspittles and apologists for torture Barack Obama is seeking to revive, not “change,” the concept of a “Divine America” which finds its genesis in the Lebensraum policies implemented against the indigenous people of North America.

This penetrating overview and analysis traces the ideology driving the Obama administration back to the concept of a "Divine America" and the policies applied against the indigenous people of North America. The son of a formerly colonized Kenyan, double-speak Obama has now become the colonizer. From the hero of the Civil Rights Movement which bouyed him to power to the champion of militarism. "Brand Obama" has embraced the infrastructure of the most lethal military complex ever assembled at the service of an ever expanding imperial agenda. Which of Obama’s two faces can we believe in and why has the Left chosen so far to see only one?

A Taste of AFRICOM: Some history on Somalia to put the most recent attacks by the Obama administration into perspective

September 17th, 2009

The True Story Of Black Hawk Down

American commandos killed Saleh Ali Saleh Nabhan, one of the most wanted Islamic militants in Africa, in a daylight raid in southern Somalia on 15 September 2009. This attack is a good "indication of the Obama administration’s willingness to use force against Al Qaeda’s growing influence in the region.”

“American officials on Monday provided few details but confirmed that Special Operations forces commandos, operating from a nearby American warship, participated in the helicopter raid… The helicopters, either with sniper bullets or air-to-surface missiles, quickly disabled the trucks, according to villagers in the area, and several of the Shabab fighters tried to fire back. Shabab leaders said that six foreign fighters, including Nabhan, were quickly killed, along with three Somali Shabab.

“‘We are very upset, very upset,’ said a Shabab official from the town of Merka, near where the raid happened. ‘This is a big loss for us.’ Ahmed Gaabow, a resident of the area, said that the helicopters then landed and retrieved the bodies, apparently for identification purposes.”

Now 'all Guns' must be listed on your next 2010 tax return!

September 17th, 2009

NOTE: There seems to be confusion as to the legitimacy of SB-2099. Searches don't confirm it's existence. HR 45 is a real bill but has no co-sponsors and won't be passed.

Your writer "Philip Bondank" and his submission:
"Now 'all Guns' must be listed on your next 2010 tax return!" on

Is bogus and uses fear tactics.

You should check there work before spreading more lies!

The first part is usually the story or rumor and the last part either backs it up or dismisses it. In this case, neither has any hope of passing.

#-1 A pending Senate bill would require that all handgun owners list their guns on their federal income tax returns. False!
http://www.snopes.com/politics/guns/taxreturns.asp

#-2 A bill before Congress would prohibit ownership of handguns by those who have not obtained firearm licenses. True! However no one supports it!

from Philip Bondank

As if we didn’t have enough to get upset about! If you have a gun, I hope it isn't registered!

Senate Bill SB-2099 will require us to put on our 2009 1040 federal tax form all guns that you have or own. It will require fingerprints and a tax of $50 per gun.

This bill was introduced on Feb. 24, 2009, by the Omama staff. BUT this bill will only become public knowledge 30 days after the new law becomes effective! This is an amendment to the Internal Revenue Act o f 1986. This means that the Finance Committee has passed this without the Senate voting on it at all. Trust Obama ? ... you must be kidding! The full text of the IRS amendment is on the U.S. Senate homepage, U.S. Senate. You can find the bill by doing a search by the bill number, SB-2099. You know who to call; I strongly suggest you do. Please send a copy of this e-mail to every gun owner you know.

Under siege: Lebanon’s Palestinians 27 years after the Sabra Shatila Massacre

Camp Notes: Sliding toward more Nahr el Bareds?

Franklin Lamb Martyr’s Square, Shatila Camp

Author’s note: Yesterday, this observer, along with British surgeon Dr. Swee Ang Chai and Nurse Marion Looi Pok, true global medical heroines during and following the 1982 Massacre at Sabra-Shatila had the honor to pass the afternoon with our longtime friend, Dr. Bayan al Hout whose husband Shafiq, one of the most respected and loved founders of the Palestine Liberation Organization passed away quite suddenly on August 2, 2009.

Her now classic volume, "Sabra and Shatila: September 1982" by Bayan Nuwayhed Al-Hout, 2004, available from Pluto Press, London, is highly recommended by the Sabra Shatila Foundation for those who seek a deeper understanding of the exact sequence of events during and surrounding the Massacre.

Ramadan asserts Muslim attachment to Jerusalem

September 17th, 2009

From Khalid Amayreh in Jerusalem

As the month of Ramadan draws to a close, many Palestinians are devoting the last ten days of the holy month to gaining more spiritual enrichment through I’tikaf or uninterrupted spiritual engagement.

Many people are going for I’tikaf this year, motivated by a desire to gain Allah’s blessing and also encouraged by a relative relaxation of the normally harsh Israeli restrictions on the entry of Palestinians to al-Quds. The Israeli occupation authorities this year allowed men over 50 and women over 45 to enter Jerusalem on Fridays. However, worshipers are still subjected to meticulous and often humiliating searches.

Israel Criminal State: Israelis

September 17th, 2009

IslamOnline.net

[Be Warned: BEFORE you click on this image, please ask yourself: what is the reality behind that rosy, official PR image that Israel wants you to believe in? ―The Zionist reality behind it is gruesome and, again, be warned, and DON'T click if you're among those with a delicate disposition.]

As Tel Aviv struggles to contain the international aftermath of the UN damning report over the deadly offensive in Gaza Strip, an inner storm is evolving with Israeli rights and political activists slamming their own country as a criminal state and calling for punishing it.

"It's time that the Israel and international societies start to treat Israel like a criminal state and a serial violator of international laws and Palestinian rights,” left-wing activist Yonatan Pollak told Yediot Ahronot daily on Wednesday, September 16.

This Constitution Day Try Something New: Ignore the Feds!

September 17th, 2009

by Michael Boldin

There's plenty of federal holidays for Americans to celebrate. On July 4th, there's independence from King George's England. On the first Monday in September, a holiday was dedicated to the "social and economic achievements of American workers." Other days throughout the year celebrate autumn harvest, soldiers who died in the civil war and even a person who sailed to this continent nearly three centuries before the country was "founded."

When there's no federally-sanctioned holiday to call upon, protesters and activists across the political spectrum often pick "important" dates to schedule events to bring attention to their cause. We've seen protests on Tax Day, Independence Day, May Day, Earth Day, and more. And, just last week, we saw great importance placed on a day that doesn't even have a letter in its name, 9/12.
