Emperors of Eye Screams

November 27th, 2023
Emperors of Eye Screams

Linh Dinh

“In the lives of emperors there is a moment which follows pride in the boundless extension of the territories we have conquered, and the melancholy and relief of knowing we shall soon give up any thought of knowing and understanding them.”—Italo Calvino in Invisible Cities

[Noir Coffee in Phnom Penh on 11/25/23]

Melancholy and relief, eh? That burden of always trying to understand not just anything, but everything, is near unbearable. Luckily, most people never feel this pressure. There are societies where intellectuals, professors and pundits are content to regurgitate, constantly, other people’s vomit.

With just over a week left in Cambodia, I’ve decided to stay in Phnom Penh, instead of heading south for a glimpse of Kampot, a city I’ve been told is exceedingly charming. I’m just too tired, man. Plus, it’s hard to extricate myself from all these long, tunnel like alleys and the Central Market’s magnificent dome.

Living in Certaldo two decades ago, I had regular access to Brunelleschi’s dome, Giotto’s tower and Michelangelo’s David, all in nearby Florence. Taking the train in the opposite direction, I could spend a day in the Siena that undoubtedly inspired Calvino’s Invisible Cities. Though I didn’t quite take everything for granted, I must have yawned once or twice right outside the Basilica of Santa Maria Novella. Fleeing the plague, Boccaccio’s bawdy yarn meisters took refuge inside there.

YOUR Government Hates YOU . . .

YOUR Government Hates YOU . . .

John Waters

The world’s governments have waged a two-year war on behalf of rich, powerful interests seeking to destroy the sovereignty and futures of their own peoples. This war now enters its most lethal phase.

A crime is being committed on an ongoing basis, all across the world, free and unfree. It is a crime of commission and omission, and arguably the most serious in either category that has ever been perpetrated. We are facing multiple crises but our governments tell us only about crises that are not crises, or at least not crises that involve us, as opposed to affecting us. Effusing moral blackmail in all directions, they shruggingly point towards the war that they started with the precise intention of creating an alibi for themselves, so as to avoid the wrath of their peoples and the punishment that ought properly to await them.

In Ireland, three months ago, the ‘crisis’ that had allegedly assailed us for two years — the ‘crisis’ of a ‘deadly’ disease — evaporated overnight to be replaced by the ‘crisis’ of a war in a country nearly 2,500 miles away. At first sight, it seemed unlikely that such a conflict might affect us in any substantial way, but immediately our Government announced that it would be taking an unlimited number of refugees from the affected country, guesstimated at 200,000 — into a country whose government has for the past decade declared itself perplexed and powerless in the face of a housing shortage affecting 10,000 of its own citizens. Instantly, those who thought that a war in Ukraine was none of our business were ‘proved wrong.’

We who have been seeking to confront the attempted destruction of our lives and societies occurring over the past two years have many times speculated as to whether the dominant note of the political responses might more correctly be ascribed to stupidity or to wickedness. The jury remains out. Stupidity, as we have noted, is no excuse, especially considering that these politicians have been proactive in pushing potential lethal poison serums and preventing people exercising fundamental freedoms on foot of a refusal to accept them. These are not victimless inanities. There must, we have ruminated, be some legal limit on the stupidity of people who exercise public power, especially when that stupidity leads to loss of life or serious injury, which in this case is most certainly the case: a dramatic uptick in working-age mortality in multiple countries of 40 per cent and more.

Nothing less than our way of life is now under threat

Nothing less than our way of life is now under threat

Neil Oliver

Worse than our way of life being under threat, life itself is being sacrificed to ensure the future of planet Earth. The message fed to our children is Satanically dark.

Nothing less than our way of life is under threat now. A population distracted by propaganda about one existential threat after another – pandemics, nuclear war, climate crisis – is being herded into an unrecognisable future.

What was done in the name of Covid was grotesque - a violation of the rights of billions of people. Having seen what they can get away with, our so-called leaders have moved on, broadening their scope, as greedy for more as kids left unsupervised in a sweetie shop.

What is happening now, all around us, is the relentless erosion not just of our rights and liberties, but of our lives. It is so blatant - what’s happening - it’s hard to see it for what it is, which is bare-faced daylight robbery.

After Covid, the C-word that’s supposed to be on everyone’s lips … drummed into us night and day by the same complicit media that drives everything else … is climate – Climate crisis, in fact. Two c-words for the price of one. From all sides, we are bombarded with predictions of the end of the world. Predictions, remember? Computer modelling … the crystal-ball-gazing of the scientific world.

Attacks on Gaza Hospitals Bring Healthcare System to Its Knees

Attacks on Gaza Hospitals Bring Healthcare System to Its Knees

Staff, Agencies

Ongoing “Israeli” attacks targeting health facilities in the Gaza Strip have put all hospitals in the north out of service, pushing the healthcare system to its knees.

The latest “Israeli” bombing on Tuesday targeted al-Awda hospital, located in Jabalia, north of Gaza City, leaving at least four doctors dead, according to the Palestine Red Crescent Society [PRCS], [and] the Indonesian Hospital, located in Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip, was struck on Monday in an attack that left at least 12 people killed and others wounded. The World Health Organization [WHO] said it was “appalled” by the attack.

For six weeks, Palestinian hospitals and medical staff in the Gaza Strip have faced similar attacks and threats by “Israeli” forces on a near-daily basis. The targeting of hospitals, combined with shortages of fuel, clean water and medical supplies – caused by the “Israeli” siege of the Strip – has forced many medical facilities to cease operations. Since 8 October, the “Israeli” entity has banned the entry of electricity, fuel, food and water into Gaza.

According to the WHO, close to 75 percent of all hospitals in the Gaza Strip are no longer operational. Ashraf al-Qudra, the Palestinian Ministry of Health spokesperson in Gaza, said on Tuesday that all hospitals in the north are now out of service, leaving hundreds of thousands of people in those areas without access to basic medical services.

Hospitals have repeatedly come under threat since the start of “Israel’s” bombardment campaign. The WHO said it recorded 335 attacks on health care in the occupied Palestinian territory since 7 October, including 164 attacks in the Gaza Strip and 171 attacks in the West Bank.

Putin Changes Approaches to the SMO in Ukraine

November 22nd, 2023

Elena Panina (Елена Панина)

Putin Changes Approaches to the SMO in Ukraine
[12/24/22] The temporary lull on the fronts of the past two months is coming to an end, reminiscent of the lull on the eve of the Battle of Kursk. Russia and Ukraine, pumped full of Western, predominantly American, weapons, are completing the concentration of forces on the main strike directions and are lining up troops in an attacking configuration. The main issue now is the timing of the strike.

All these actions are accompanied by appropriate information and propaganda rhetoric, reflecting the parties' intentions to resolve the outcome of the confrontation by military means. After the West publicly condemned not only the Russian leadership but also Russia as a state (only the details and stages of dismemberment are disputed.), negotiations have exhausted themselves to such an extent that the president announced it openly.

A number of events underscore that the Kremlin is no longer seeking a compromise between Russia and the West. These include Putin's visit to the joint headquarters of the branches of the forces involved in the air defense system, to accompany strikes against Ukraine's infrastructure and its air defense assets. Establishment of a presidential working group on mobilization and social support for participants in the air defense. The visit of the President to Minsk and his speech at the enlarged meeting of the collegium of the Defense Ministry.

This list of events alone speaks for itself. Russia is staking only on military success. The forthcoming new version of the foreign policy concept will fix the changes in Russia's relations with the West.

War in Gaza: Just How Many Faked Videos by the IDF Can Western Media Handle?

War in Gaza: Just How Many Faked Videos by the IDF Can Western Media Handle?

We are literally watching an illusion each night by CNN journalists ducking and diving while they do their pieces to camera.

The war in Gaza is going into the history books for setting precedents for many things. But perhaps it might not be such a watermark which too many journalists will remind you about, but fake news on a whole new scale which we haven’t seen before, will be one of them.

How do westerners who watch their evening news take our mainstream media journalist in Israel seriously? Firstly, most of them aren’t even inside Gaza but comfortably ‘embedded’ with Israel’s IDF usually in lux accommodation which has been arranged for them, while IDF propagandists feed them nuggets of prepared fake news during the day while they dine as guests of the army. Our western journalists are so embedded that what they are presenting is not even news each night but a narrative which they have been hearing all day. And in some cases, seeing. Part of the IDF’s mantra when handling the press is to show them video clips they have in their possession. But so far there is no scepticism as to the validity of this material shown by the journalists. Remarkably, British journalists like Douglas Murray – who seems to be one of the very few inside Gaza – tell Piers Morgan during a live interview, while coming under fire, that the Palestinians deserve the absolute ‘collective’ obliteration as the raw video clips he saw of Hamas fighters on October 7th murdering Israeli civilians were doing so while showing ‘glee’.

This is a good example of what happens to western journalist who gets too close to those doing the ‘media handling’. It’s subtle and you have to look closely, but there is a seamless transition from where the journalist crosses a line and becomes the propagandist for this hosts. Remarkably a couple of Palestinian Hamas fighters phoned their parents in a state of glee after they murdered Israelis and this is enough to dehumanize them and deem them worthy of mass annihilation.

Are the Anglo-Saxons Leading Things to a Limited Nuclear War in Europe?

Are the Anglo-Saxons Leading Things to a Limited Nuclear War in Europe?

RUSSTRAT Institute
(This article was originally published on 05 Jul 2022)

The NATO Summit adopted a new strategic concept of the alliance until 2030. According to this concept, "the Russian Federation represents the most significant and direct threat to the security of allies, as well as peace and stability in the Euro-Atlantic region."

During the two weeks of June, four significant events of the international agenda were held:

June 15, 2022 – meeting of the Contact Group on the Defence of Ukraine at NATO headquarters in     Brussels,
June 23-24 - the EU summit in Brussels,
June 26-28, 2022 – the summit of the "Big Seven" in the castle of Elmau in Germany and
June 28-30 - the NATO summit in Madrid.

The command and staff structures of the so-called rules-based global world held all four meetings with a clear anti-Russian bias.

The meeting of the Ukraine Defence Contact Group was already the third in a row. It was attended by more than 50 countries of the world that provide military and financial assistance to Ukraine.

SERIOUS DEVELOPMENT: ISRAEL-GAZA

SERIOUS DEVELOPMENT: ISRAEL-GAZA

Henry Turner

Breathe deep, the gathering gloom.

As reported earlier today on this web site (here), the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) has air-dropped leaflets on SOUTHERN Gaza instructing residents of Khan Younis to "evacuate" their homes.

This comes after the IDF did the same thing in northern Gaza, then began systematic bombing of it, leveling homes and apartment buildings.

The trouble is, there is nowhere for residents in southern Gaza to actually go! They cannot enter Israel; and Egypt won't take them through the Raffah Border crossing because Egypt says this is a "forced displacement" of a civilian population, which is illegal under International law. So they're trapped, even though the IDF is telling them they must leave.

As a result of the IDF leaflets into southern Gaza, President Sisi of Egypt issued an ORDER to the Egyptian Army to "Make preparations to enter the Gaza Strip and implement a No-Fly Zone over it unless Israel implements a solution in Gaza."

So there it is, for all the world to see. Israel, which DENIED they were forcibly relocating a civilian population, is now shown to be doing exactly that, in violation of International Law.

The nightmare for a family buried under rubble in Gaza

The nightmare for a family buried under rubble in Gaza

Aseel Mousa in Gaza,
Occupied Palestine

Waheed Mousa and his family recount the trauma of being trapped under debris following an Israeli air strike

In the blink of an eye, the early morning light that had filled the rooms of Waheed Mousa's home was smothered by a mountain of rubble, burying him, his wife and his son.

💬 "I woke up terrified. I found more than two-thirds of my body buried under the rubble. I thought it was our house that had been targeted. For a moment, I thought I was in a grave," Waheed, 55, told Middle East Eye.

An air strike had hit the house next door, but the powerful aftershock of the bombing caused major destruction to the residential building in al-Maghazi refugee camp, housing 36 residents, including Waheed's family, in addition to 35 displaced people.

Waheed, a laboratory manager, had hoped that his home - in an area in the central Gaza Strip classified as "safe" by the Israeli military - would be spared the brutal bombing campaign that has flattened whole neighbourhoods and killed over 11,200 people.

Climate Change is a Malicious, Dangerous Myth

Climate Change is a Malicious, Dangerous Myth

Dr Vernon Coleman

Before he was demonised and lied about for telling the truth about covid-19, The Ecologist said of Vernon Coleman: ‘No thinking person can ignore him.’

The Chief Climate Loonies (all 20,000 of them if COP26 is anything to go by) are meeting in a lovely holiday resort town in Egypt for COP27. My guess is that around 19,900 of them will have got there by aeroplane. I wonder how much electricity they will use for their laptops, iPads and magic telephones. (They never meet in Wolverhampton or Milton Keynes, do they? Maybe next time.)

It is the global warming hoax which is going to destroy us. It’s the mad green, fake environmentalists, sanctimonious and self-important, who are going to kill us by forcing us to cold turkey off fossil fuels and live in a cold, cruel world where the poorest will starve or freeze to death and where the chosen few, the self-appointed elite, will ignore reality, worship electricity (made from the diminishing fossil fuels) and create a pseudoscientific crisis out of thin air in order to oppress, suppress and banish humanity, decency, dignity and respect from our lives.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) predicts that a global warming of 2.5 degrees centigrade to 4.0 degrees centigrade would reduce global GDP by 2% to 5% by the year 2100 but that the global economy will, by 2100, be between 300% and 500% larger than it is at the moment. This destroys the argument that climate change will have a noticeable impact on the global economy.
