Deplorable Daily Media Message on Russia

August 5th, 2017

by Stephen Lendman

Western media are virtually of one mind on Russia, irresponsibly claiming it’s a bad guy - America, Canada, EU countries, and Israel defenders of democratic values, polar opposite reality.

Intense anti-Russia propaganda persists relentlessly, disinformation and Big Lies drowning out hard truths.

The NYT is the leading proliferator of anti-Russia agitprop, a virtual daily media onslaught on the country.

On August 2, it praised neocon Vice President Pence. In Tallin, Estonia, he hyped a nonexistent Russian threat. In Tbilisi, Georgia, he blustered “(w)e are with you. We stand with you.”

He told Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian leaders America pledges to defend their countries against nonexistent Russian “force, threats, intimidation or malign influence,” adding:

“No threat looms larger in the Baltic States than the specter of aggression from your unpredictable neighbor to the east,” disgracefully denigrating Russia, irresponsibly claiming it intends to “redraw international borders by force, undermine the democracies of sovereign nations and divide the free nations of Europe one against another.”

The Times: “The vice president’s blunt analysis of the problem and robust alliance commitments reflect fairly traditional American thinking on Russia.”

“In the face of increased Russian aggression, and worsening tensions between Moscow and Washington, his trip…is an important signal to allies and partners living in Russia’s shadow.”

Fact: Russia champions world peace and stability, polar opposite America’s rage for endless wars of aggression against nations threatening no one.

Fact: The Times and other media scoundrels hype nonexistent “Russian aggression” relentlessly, supporting the agenda of ruthless neocons infesting Washington.

The Times: “…Pence (and) most administration security officials view Russia as a leading adversary.”

Fact: Russia is adversarial toward no other nations, well known in Washington, by The Times, and other Western media, but not admitted.

The Times: Trump’s softer message on Russia represents “an incoherent policy that is bound to be read as weakness or uncertainty by Mr. Putin, as well as allies, and will not serve American interests.”

Fact: Trump’s attitude toward Russia doesn’t matter. He’s outvoted by nearly the entire Congress and neocons infesting his administration.

The Times: Trump’s “failure” to respond to Russia expelling 755 US embassy and consular staff “raised obvious questions, (along with) his delay in signing” congressional sanctions.

Fact: No mention by The Times of unrelenting US hostility toward Russia. Putin’s patience finally ran out, his action mild, not tough, promising more in response to further illegal US measures.

The Times, other media scoundrels, and nearly the entire US political establishment want adversarial relations with Russia maintained - madness risking eventual confrontation between the world’s leading nuclear powers.
