NYT Anti-Trump Polemic Asked the Wrong Question

August 31st, 2016

Stephen Lendman

“How can America recover from Donald Trump,” Times editors asked?

Instead they should ask how much longer can humanity withstand America’s rape, destruction, and pillage of one country after another, the major issue of our time, no matter which wing its one-party state holds power?

Trump’s racist, pro-business, anti-progressive hawkish agenda makes him a deplorable choice for president.

Hillary is worse - a known felon, a war goddess obsessed with world conquest and dominance, comfortable about using nuclear weapons, a racketeer influence-peddler, a perjurer, an emotionally unstable neocon lunatic too ruthless and dangerous to entrust with any public responsibility.

“The toxic effects of Trumpism will have to be addressed,” Times editors ranted. He’s never held public office so can’t be held accountable for decades of irresponsible bipartisan policies.

Hillary’s record speaks for itself - automatically disqualifying her from public office in any just society. She belongs in prison, not the White House.

Yet Times editors scandalously claim “(t)here’s never been a more qualified candidate to be US president” - why I call the NYT Hillary’s press agent, disgracefully supporting pure evil.

Earlier I said she and Trump amount to choosing between death by hanging or firing squad. Either way you’re dead.

One or the other will succeed Obama. Endless imperial wars will continue. So will neoliberal harshness and police state crackdowns on nonbelievers.

The American dream I was taught about growing up turned out nightmarish for the majority of its citizens and most people worldwide.

Can humanity survive four more years of endless imperial wars, along with governance for the privileged few at the expense of most others everywhere?

Are we doomed if something isn’t done responsibly to change things?
