NATO Chief WSJ Op-Ed: Misinformation and Big Lies

August 2nd, 2016

Stephen Lendman

Savvy news consumers know US-led Western media lie, deceive, misinform and betray them disgracefully, featuring all propaganda all the time on issues mattering most.

Giving WSJ op-ed space to US-installed NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg is one of many notable insults to readers. His headline gave him away, saying “NATO Muscles Up to Fight ISIS.”

“America, you are not alone in this fight,” he said. “Your friends and allies stand with you. And so does NATO. That is why I will join coalition defense ministers in Washington, DC, this week as they intensify the fight against ISIS.”

Fact: America controls NATO, its member states, and officials like Stoltenberg, used as tools to advance its imperial objectives, waging war on humanity to achieve them.

Fact: America created ISIS and virtually all other significant terrorist groups, used as imperial foot soldiers to ravage and destroy one nation after another.

Stoltenberg: “The global coalition to counter ISIS, led by the US and including every NATO ally, is making good progress.”

Fact: ISIS and likeminded terrorist groups exist because of foreign support. Without it they’d wither and disappear. Russia alone achieved progress in combating their scourge in Syria - total success unattainable because Washington and NATO want war, not peace.

Stoltenberg: NATO seeks “stability in North Africa and the Middle East…helping” regional countries “push back against violent extremism.”

Fact: US-dominated NATO fosters instability, violent extremism, chaos and unspeakable human misery wherever it shows up.

Stoltenberg: “In response to a more assertive Russia, NATO has implemented the biggest increase in its collective defense since the Cold War.”

Fact: Russia is the greatest force for world peace and security among major powers, Vladimir Putin the world’s preeminent leader.

So-called “Russian aggression” or “assertiveness” don’t exist, Big Lies among many others, advancing America’s imperial agenda - using NATO as killing machine, not an alliance for world peace, stability and security.

Positioning increasing numbers of US-led NATO combat troops on Russia’s border risks direct East/West confrontation - the terrifying possibility of nuclear war.

US-dominated NATO is the problem, not the solution, convenient stooges like Stoltenberg serving America’s interests - at the risk of sacrificing world peace.
