On Justice for 9/11: What We Need from Obama, Is To Get Out!

May 13, 2016 (EIRNS)--The battle to release the 9/11 evidence Bush and Obama have suppressed, and begin a new, full investigation of the Saudi Arabia's murderous role in the 911 attacks, escalated to new levels with another interview with Adm. John Lehman, former Secretary of the Navy and member of the 9/11 Commission, aired by CNN on May 12. While Lehman had been interviewed for the blockbuster "60 Minutes" program on releasing the 28 pages in April, and also in the {Guardian} on 0May 12th, he went broke new ground with CNN in several areas.First, Lehman gave specifics about the role of Saudi officials. He told CNN Thursday that the classified 28 pages of a congressional investigatory report into the attacks contains evidence that as many as six Saudi officials supported al-Qaeda in the run-up to the attacks.

"Those individuals, he said, worked for the Saudi Embassy in the U.S., Saudi charities and the Saudi government-funded King Fahd Mosque in California."

Second, he said the Saudi involvement was never fully probed. "Lehman charged that evidence of Saudi involvement was never sufficiently investigated by U.S. authorities and that a new investigation should now be 'vigorously pursued.'|"

Third, Lehman said there were "hard" ties of the Saudi officials to the hijackers. "Lehman said the individuals had hard ties to the government -- and hard ties to the hijackers, with one driving the hijackers from San Diego to Phoenix when they failed out of their first flight school."

CNN ran the story on Lehman's comments throughout the day on May 12, along with statements from an interview with another 9/11 Commission member, former federal prosecutor Richard Ben-Veniste, who backed up Lehman's statements about the investigation of the Saudis being incomplete.

"Our report should never have been read as an exoneration of Saudi Arabia," Lehman said, CNN reported, quoting his statement to the {Guardian}.

More members of Congress are signing on daily to Walter Jones-Stephen Lynch bill to release this last, 28-page, secret chapter of the Joint Congressional Inquiry into 9/11.

Washington has been rocked by the rising series of demands for these 28 pages, and rising ferment in New York City in particular, for true justice for the thousands of victims and their families. It is now clear some leading Members of Congress who are neither activists for, nor signers on the Jones-Lynch bill, have pressured Obama about his and Bush's suppression. It appears Obama has promised them to release the pages -- a promise he intends to break, as he broke those to the families of the victims.

This shows the pressure which the LaRouche "Manhattan Project" has put Obama under. That now has to escalate. What we want from Obama, to accomplish that justice, is to remove him from office -- NOW.

'WILL THE 28 PAGES TURN INTO 80,000 IN SAUDI 911 CONNECTION?'

May 13, 2016 (EIRNS)--That is one headline of dozens of reports--for the first time making the national media--of the five year FOIA battle by Florida investigative reporter Dan Christensen of the Florida Bulldog to get access to more than 80,000 pages of FBI files from the Tampa, FL office about Saudi citizens, including an advisor to a member of the Royal Family, living in Sarasota, FL who had connections to the 911 hijackers.

On May 12, the {Daily Beast} published its story by Shane Harris with Eleanor Clift--on the Sarasota, Florida case where Federal District Court Judge William Zloch is reviewing more than

80,000 pages of FBI files classified under the title PENTTBOM-- in the FOIA case brought by Christensen.

The {Daily Beast} details how the FBI lied to the reporters, and to the court in the FOIA case, and that only when former US Sen. Bob Graham, co-chairman of the 2002 Joint Congressional investigation into 911 was willing to testify that he had seen FBI documents about the Sarasota family and 911, did the FBI admit to having "something," i.e., "35 pages." But Judge Zloch didn't buy the FBI's story of only 35 pages and ordered the government to do a comprehensive search. The Justice Dept. came up with 80,000 pages under the codename PENTTBOM (Pentagon/Twin Towers/Bombing) from the Tampa office.

Christensen's original Sarasota investigation appeared on the front page of the {Miami Herald} in 2011, when he had teamed up with two Irish reporters, renowned Irish historian Anthony Summers and Robbyn Swan. His battle with the FBI and DoJ is described in the Daily Beast:

*Gatekeeper logs of the Al Hiijjii/Ghazzawi family's visitors to their Sarasota home showed visits by hijackers Mohammed Atta and Ziad Jarrah;

*Sen. Bob Graham saw some of the FBI files on the Sarasota family after he read the press stories on the Sarasota connection and was furious that the FBI had never given the Joint Congressional Committee a WORD about the Tampa investigation.

*In order to review the files, Zloch has to retrieve them from a secure location and is only allowed to remove a small selection at a time. The {Daily Mail} of London has a long piece citing the Daily Beast article, but it also reports a connection to the Saudi Royal Family: "the owner of the home was Esam Ghazzawi, an adviser to a nephew of Saudi Arabia's King Fahd." Ghazzawi's daughter, Anoud, lived there with her husband, Abdulazzi al Hiijjii. Both suddenly fled to Saudi Arabia on 8/30/2001.

{Daily Beast} reporter Eleanor Clift is reportly writing a followup article on the 28 pages and more than a dozen other websites carried the {Daily Beast} story today, including trunews, commondreams, convervative voice.

{Guardian} Op-ed Cites Growing Pressure on Obama on 9/11 Attacks

May 13, 2016 (EIRNS)--An op-ed in {The Guardian} today, penned by Mohammad Bazzi, reported that pressures are mounting in the United States to rectify its "dysfunctional relationship" with Saudi Arabia by releasing the redacted 28 pages of the Joint Congressional Report on 9/11.

Bazzi's op-ed says: "Many Washington policymakers value the stability of the Saudi regime above all else, and for decades they have been willing to turn a blind eye to the ruling family's excesses and its support for Wahhabi fanaticism. For years after 9/11, U.S. officials tried to pressure their allies in Saudi Arabia and other moderate [sic] Arab regimes to crack down on financing for Islamic militants. But as the State Department cables released by WikiLeaks revealed, the Saudis were reluctant to shut off the flow of cash -- millions of dollars a year, often raised during the holy periods of Hajj and Ramadan."

Bazzi noted that pressure on President Obama to release those 28 pages escalated, once a former member of the 9/11 Commission, John Lehman, a Republican who served as U.S. Navy Secretary in the Reagan administration, and who was among 10 Commission members who investigated the attacks in 2004, told {The Guardian} this week, "There was clear evidence that Saudi government employees helped some of the 9/11 hijackers... There was an awful lot of participation by Saudi individuals in supporting the hijackers, and some of those people worked in the Saudi government," said Lehman. "Our report should never have been read as an exoneration of Saudi Arabia." Bazzi said Saudi Arabia has not faced such a sustained level of criticism from its U.S. ally in decades
