Putin Honored Memory of His Father in Immortal Regiment March

Monday’s Moscow Victory Day commemoration was moving and impressive by any standard, honoring the memory of millions of Russians killed defending their homeland.

Putin showed his humanity. Holding a photo of his father wounded in battle, one of millions of heroic WW II Russian soldiers, he headed Monday’s Immortal Regiment march, walking “shoulder-to-shoulder alongside hundreds of thousands of (ordinary) Russians,” reported RT International.

Organizer Nikolai Zemtsov said the event “brought together people whose grandparents fought from 1941 - 1945. Thus, we are honoring the memory of heroes who earned this hard-won victory.”

Addressing crowds in Red Square, Putin honored millions of heroic Russians involved in defeating the scourge of Nazism. He urged unity in combatting terrorism.

“We must defeat this evil,” he stressed, calling “double standards” unacceptable. The NYT mocked him, continuing its shameless Putin bashing drumbeat.

It lied, claiming “an updated version of the Buk antiaircraft missile system (displayed) shot down” Malaysian Airlines’ MH17.

Russia had nothing to do with what happened, nor Donbass freedom fighters. A Ukrainian warplane downed MH17 with an air-to-air missile, no one in Kiev held responsible for cold-blooded murder, killing all passengers and crew members aboard.

The NYT accused Putin of “swip(ing) at the West.” He accused it of “double standards (and) short-sighted indulgence” for supporting terrorist groups masquerading as moderates.

The Times called hard evidence pointing to Kiev’s responsibility for downing MH17 an “unsubstantiated theor(y).”

It mocked Russia’s display of military might, symbolizing its defeat of Nazi Germany, indicating no aggressive intentions against other nations, unlike how America operates.

Moscow prioritizes world peace and stability. Washington wages endless wars against invented enemies threatening no one.

Putin is the world’s preeminent peacemaker, Obama its leading aggressor.

The Times maintains the fiction of America the indispensable nation, calling Russia the main global threat. Under Putin, it’s the best hope for avoiding catastrophic nuclear war.
