Obama's War on Russia

March 23rd, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Obama's lunatic neocon infested administration declared war on Russia. Its lawless Ukraine policy alone shows it.

It's raging politically through vicious propaganda, economically through illegal sanctions, and militarily by US-dominated NATO's relentless push east.

It's surrounding Russia with menacing bases. They risk sparks able to ignite conflict. Lunatics making policy in Washington may start WW III. It's no exaggeration calling today the most perilous time in world history. Global peace hangs by a thread. Things ominously resemble events preceding WW I and II.

Others wiser than this writer explained those ignoring the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them.

America does it one reckless war of aggression after another - permanent ones against invented enemies wrecking any chance for world peace.

It's anathema in Washington. Living by the sword is official state policy. So is eliminating all sovereign independent governments - especially major rivals China and Russia.

Controlling Ukraine is a stepping-stone toward bigger fish to fry. US-dominated NATO heads toward direct involvement in its conflict.

Current ceasefire conditions are more illusion than real. Resumed conflict will erupt at Washington's discretion.

Kiev prepares for more war. It refuses to withdraw its heavy weapons as agreed to under Minsk terms. It repositions them instead close to their original locations.

It commits multiple daily ceasefire violations - deliberate provocations to draw rebel responses enough to blame them for Kiev's crimes and provide NATO with just cause it may claim to intervene.

According to French newspaper Le Point columnist Pierre Beylau:

"NATO leaders regularly 'wave a red flag' (at Russia), sticking out their chest and throwing inflammatory comments. They would have done a big favor to the world if they kept quiet."

Russia's only border protections against total encirclement are Ukraine, Finland and Belarus.

Beylau believes when Washington decided to have Georgia and Ukraine join NATO, it crossed a red line Moscow won't tolerate - nor should it.

Imagine Russian and/or Chinese bases on America's north and southern borders.

Imagine how Washington would react to their military might minutes from US territory. Imagine a pretext for all-out war.

Moscow has just cause to institute measures against clear threats to its security. Acting before it's too late is essential.

Russian lower house State Duma National Liberation Movement leader Evgeny Fedorov believes Washington instituted coup d'etat tactics.

"Let's be honest," he said. "Americans have made the first strike. They began the state coup" against Russia.

"The war has begun. The state coup has begun. There is no turning back. It is impossible to end the war after starting it."

It's been ongoing for years - throughout Putin's tenure and when Medvedev was president.

It began before Soviet Russia dissolved. It continues recklessly. It could explode in open warfare.

"War has its own laws," said Fedorov. "(W)e know how it will unfold…because this road has been taken a thousand times in our and world history."

Fedorov sees "gradual escalation." It's clear from Washington's Ukraine policy - coup followed by war on Donbass, then greater war ahead affecting Europe's heartland and beyond.

Lunatics in Washington and Kiev may start WW III. EU leaders are wary. It's their continent. They don't want it ravaged again.

France and Germany are especially concerned. Is good sense growing over loyalty to Washington? It's too early to tell. Hopeful signs are encouraging.

Lunatics in Washington want Minsk sabotaged. Speaking in Riga, Latvia, Deputy NATO Secretary General Alexander Vershbow's (its de facto boss) lied about nonexistent "new threats and challenges both on our eastern and our southern borders."

"(A)n angry revisionist Russia…breaks international rules," he blustered. It "continues to destabilize Ukraine and intimidate its neighbors."

Putin "aim(s) to turn Ukraine into a failed state and to suppress and discredit alternative voices in Russia, so as to prevent a Russian Maidan."

The previous day, supreme NATO commander US General Philip Breedlove's lied about nonexistent Russian aggression making things "worse every day" in Ukraine.

Moscow's ambassador to NATO Alexander Grushko responded saying these comments show US-dominated "NATO has a dream (of Kiev-style) Maidan in Russia.

Germany's Der Spiegel reported "leaders in Berlin were stunned" by US bellicose remarks. They called Breedlove's comments "dangerous propaganda."

He and Vershbow aren't the only US disinformation sources. A previous article discussed the great American lying machine.

Obama heads it. The State Department, Congress, and entire Washington political establishment contributes on virtually every issue mattering most. Especially anything relating to Russia and Ukraine.

US officials and go-along media scoundrels proliferate Big Lies about nonexistent "Russian aggression,"

Russian hordes pouring across Ukraine's borders, rebels supplied with Russian weapons, and other false claims stoke conflict instead of abating it.

German intelligence refutes bogus US claims. Der Spiegel accused Breedlove of lying - saying he "repeatedly made inexact, contradictory or even flat-out inaccurate statements."

He made up stuff to fear-monger. So do other US government and military officials. US commanding general Europe (USAREUR) Ben Hodges lied claiming 12,000 Russian troops operate in eastern Ukraine.

Big Lies launch wars. In "The Art of War," Sun Tzu said "All war(s) (are) based on deception." What worked in ancient times more than ever applies now.

Instant communications and super-weapons in the hands of US lunatics risk destroying planet earth to own it.

Fear, misinformation and deceit work best enlisting popular support. Scaring people to death with Big Lies is longstanding practice.

In America, it's an art form. It's part of daily life. Print and electronic media scoundrels scream it.

They spread willful disinformation and Big Lies supporting Washington's war machine global marauding.

Permanent war is official US policy. Obama is the latest in a long line of rogue warrior presidents.

He's waged multiple direct and proxy wars since day one in office. He has lots more death and destruction in mind.

He intends permanent Afghanistan occupation. He destroyed Libya. He's waging Iraq war III. He's lawlessly bombing Syria.

He conspired with Netanyahu's last summer genocidal war on Gaza. He bears full responsibility for Ukrainian crisis conditions.

He risks open warfare with Russia. He shamelessly blames Putin for his own crimes. He bullies and bribes EU nations to support his imperial agenda.

He uses NATO as a weapon against humanity. "Our Alliance is fully united in support of Ukraine's sovereignty," he claims.

Last year he destroyed it. He made Ukraine America's newest colony. He replaced democrats with Nazis to run it.

He uses them to challenge Russia recklessly. America threatens humanity's survival more than any other nation in history.

Other despotic regimes were bit players compared to lunatics making policies in Washington. They could incinerate planet earth in a day with electronic ease.

They're Machiavellian enough to risk it. Hopefully Merkel, Hollande and other EU leaders had enough.

Why should they risk their country's destruction to play Washington's dirty game? Why should they risk potential conflict far worse than WW I or II?

Why should they risk potential humanity destroying war to support America's maniacal quest for global dominance? A previous article said Putin explained things clearly.

He told Merkel and Hollande their choice is between combining Russian resources with EU technology for greater prosperity and peace or allying with Washington's war machine risking nuclear armageddon destroying everyone.

Nazism's reemergence in Europe's heartland should scare everyone enough to abandon America's imperial project once and for all.

The choice is simple - peace and stability or possible painful incinerated death. No in between is likely. No life left on earth left or worth living if things continue on their destructive course.

US recklessness is a wakeup call for all world leaders, not just EU ones.

Survival depends on choosing peace and democratic freedoms over potential humanity destroying endless wars - a no-brainer and then some.
