One thing to keep in mind is that whether the leadership is Republican or Democrat, they both operate under a basic pretension that has no basis in reality. Republicans promote the idea that they are fiscally conservative and morally restrained. Democrats like to say they are about fairness to all, and in support of everyone’s right to express themselves, no matter how perverse the manner might be. These are sweeping generalizations, but since both sides are morally bankrupt, sold out to the highest bidder, and constantly driven by greed and fear of exposure, we have probably been too kind.
