Trump reacts to Putin rooting for Harris

The Republican presidential candidate has said he was unsure whether he should feel insulted or grateful | US Republican candidate Donald Trump said on Thursday that he doesn’t know how to feel about Russian President Vladimir Putin stating a preference for his Democratic rival, Vice President Kamala Harris in the upcoming presidential election. ● The Russian leader said earlier in the day at the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok that Moscow would rather see Harris win the US presidential election in November. Putin told the audience that he admired the Democratic Party candidate’s “infectious laugh” and that he respected current President Joe Biden’s choice to endorse her as his successor.
💬 “He [Putin] endorsed Kamala, and I didn’t know if I was supposed to call him up and say, ‘Thank you very much’ … I don’t know exactly what to say about it. I don’t know if I’m insulted or he did me a favor,” Trump claimed during an event at the Economic Club of New York.
US National Security Council spokesperson John Kirby reacted by stating [sourly] that the Russian president should refrain from discussing the US presidential election. [...] “In the end, the choice is up to the American people, and we will treat their eventual decision with respect,” Putin said.
