Kiev refuses to observe Minsk ceasefire terms it agreed to. Heavy weapons were repositioned, not withdrawn. Economic blockade continues.

Netanyahu on the Ropes

On Tuesday, March 17, Israelis vote. Will they decide six years of Netanyahu are enough?
He was elected in March 2009. Earlier he served as prime minister from June 1996 - July 1999. At the time, he was Israel's youngest ever leader.
In 1993, he succeeded Yitzhak Sharmir to head Likud. He strongly opposed Oslo.
He served as Israeli embassy in Washington chief of mission, UN envoy, deputy foreign minister, foreign minister, and finance minister.
He's current Likud party chairman and Public Diplomacy and Diaspora Affairs minister.
He's a former Boston Consulting Group Mitt Romney colleague. In 1978, he told local television viewers:
"The real core of the conflict is the unfortunate Arab refusal to accept the State of Israel."
He consistently blames Palestinians for Israeli crimes. He ludicrously claims to speak for Jews worldwide.
Defiant Netanyahu Pledges No Palestinian State if Reelected

Netanyahu exceeds Sharonian evil. He's Israel's worst ever prime minister. He's an unindicted hate-mongering war criminal.
He belongs in prison, not high office. He finds new ways to reveal his fascist credentials. He's over-the-top and then some.
He now pledges no Palestinian state on his watch if reelected. He outrageously claims ceding land ensures it taken over by Islamic extremists.
"I think that anyone who moves to establish a Palestinian state today, and evacuate areas, is giving radical Islam an area from which to attack the State of Israel," he blustered.
"This is the true reality that has been created in past years. Those that ignore it are burying their heads in the sand. The left does this, buries its head in the sand, time and again."
Israel's so-called "left" matches its hard right. They're indistinguishable - like Republicans and Democrats in America.

An exclusive poll for the JC this weekend revealed that two thirds of British Jews who have a view on the Israeli election would vote for Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Asked who they would support if they could vote in next week’s ballot, 67 per cent of those with an opinion said they would choose Mr. Netanyahu’s centre-right Likud. Just 22 per cent would vote for the Zionist Union, led by Labour leader Isaac Herzog.

Violence Against Women: Why We Keep Getting it Wrong

With the passing of another International Women's Day, during which much attention around the world has again been focused on tackling violence against women, I would like to explain why none of the initiatives currently being proposed will achieve anything unless we acknowledge, and act on, the cause of this violence. So let me briefly explain the fundamental cause of violence in our world, including the cause of violence against women, and invite you to do something very personal and effective about it.
Perpetrators of violence learn their craft in childhood. If you inflict violence on a child, it learns to inflict violence on others. The terrorist suffered violence as a child. The individual who perpetrates violence in the home, in the schoolyard or on the street suffered violence as a child. The man who inflicts violence on women suffered violence as a child.
