Washington bears full responsibility for political and economic war on the country, along with months of street violence - wanting fascist tyranny replacing Bolivarian social democracy.

On Sunday, Venezuela’s military thwarted a terrorist attack on Fort Paramacay in Carbobo state, according to President Nicolas Maduro, saying:

“I cannot describe it in any other way. It is a terrorist attack against the Bolivarian National Armed Forces and the Armed Forces has reacted in a united way, with morality, with decisiveness.”

The incident occurred two days after the Venezuela’s Constituent Assembly was inaugurated - tasked with revising or rewriting the country’s constitution. It’s primary aims are to restore order and preserve Bolivarian social democracy.

A Venezuelan military statement said “(c)ivilian delinquents in military uniforms and a first lieutenant who had deserted” attacked the 41st Armored Brigade.

“(T)he terrorist operation included the release of a video by a junior official that over three years ago was removed from the armed forces, accused of treason and rebellion, who then fled the country and received protection in Miami, United States.”

The individual identified as Carlos Caguaripano, a likely CIA asset, declared on You Tube: “This is not a coup d’etat. This is a civic and military action to re-establish constitutional order. But more than that, it is to save the country from total destruction.”

The attack was swiftly “repelled and arrests made, including the first lieutenant.” Individuals captured “confessed to having been contracted by the states of Zulia, Lara and Yaracuy by far-right Venezuelan activists in connection with foreign governments.”

“Today's terrorist attack is nothing but a propaganda show, a pipe dream, a desperate move that is part of (foreign orchestrated) destabilization and conspiracy plans.”

"The FANB remains strong, united in its democratic convictions with high morale; and supports unconditionally citizen Nicolas Maduro Moros, constitutional president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and our commander in chief, as well as his constituent initiative and the Bolivarian Revolution as a project that seeks to consolidate the homeland, free, sovereign and independent.”

Constituent Assembly member Diosdado Cabello explained there’s “absolute normalcy in the rest of the military units of the country.”

If Sunday’s incident was an attempted coup, or a step toward one, it was ill-conceived and easily put down, individuals involved certain to be punished harshly. Insurrectionists aren’t tolerated anywhere.

In March 2015, following Obama’s executive order, outrageously declaring a “national emergency with respect to the unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States posed by the situation in Venezuela,” US SOUTHCOM commander/current White House chief of staff General John Kelly suggested a coup might be planned to topple its government, saying:

“A coup? You know, I don’t know anyone that would want to take that mess over, but it might be that we see, whether it’s at the end of (Maduro’s) term or whatever…”

“I wouldn’t necessarily (say) a coup, but there might be…some arrangements to change leadership.”

As White House chief of staff, Kelly reportedly is involved with CIA elements in planning the overthrow of Venezuela’s government.

Days earlier, Rex Tillerson called for regime change in Venezuela, saying US policy options are being evaluated.

The next shoe to drop could happen any time toward furthering Washington’s objective.
