Replace Third Party Delusions With A Political Boycott

Recently, Jonathan Cymberknopf wrote a very upbeat article where he makes it sound like third party presidential candidates in 2012 achieved remarkable, even historic, success. He provides considerable data on how a number of third party candidates did better in 2012 than in the previous presidential election. For many years I strongly advocated third party options and even was a state chairperson for a major third party. But over time I realized what a fool’s effort third parties are for presidential elections and also for nearly all congressional ones. Why? Because anyone who thinks clearly and understands the US electoral system should know that the system is so rigged against third parties that they are mostly a wasted effort. Worse even, and this is my major point, because third parties provide a kind of high pressure escape valve for very unhappy Americans to express their anger and frustration. In so doing, they perversely help to sustain the very corrupt, dysfunctional two-party system they reject and want to change but cannot possibly do.

I have not been writing much. Everything I want to say has been pretty much said by others. The best thing I read in decades was Putin's rebuke to the United States over its policies in Syria and its claim of "exceptionalism". I couldn't have said it better myself.
The President of Iran finally wants to negotiate over nuclear weapons it says it doesn't want and doesn't need. This administration in Washington is taking a "wait and see" attitude. What a load of crap that is. The boys in Washington just don't want to piss off their AIPAC donors.
WaPo Interviews Lavrov

On September 25, Washington Post senior associate editor Lally Weymouth interviewed Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.
He did so on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting in New York. In response to a question regarding Obama's Tuesday speech, Lavrov was diplomatically discreet, saying:
He "addressed important issues, and he stated willingness to cooperate on resolving problems in the Middle East and to help us find common approaches, which is the key for the international community."This writer called his address imperial mumbo jumbo. It featured beginning-to-end bald-faced lies.
They followed in rapid fire succession. They didn't pass the smell test. They didn't rise to the level of bad fiction.
Rohani in New York

On September 25, Iranian President Hassan Rohani delivered his first General Assembly address.
It was eloquent, straightforward, honest and important. He spoke truth to power. He did so sincerely and candidly.
Israel's UN delegation walked out. It did so disgracefully. Netanyahu speaks next Tuesday. From Israel he lied, saying:
"As expected, this was a cynical speech that was full of hypocrisy."
"Rohani spoke of human rights even as Iranian forces are participating in the large-scale slaughter of innocent civilians in Syria." "He spoke of a nuclear program for civilian purposes even as an IAEA report determines that the program has military dimensions."
Syrian National Coalition Spurns Peace

The Western-sponsored Syrian National Coalition (SNC) lacks legitimacy. It’s an artificial construct. It operates extrajudicially.
It's a rogue outlaw gang. It supports war. It abhors peaceful conflict resolution. It wants Assad toppled. It wants governance subservient to Western interests replacing him.
It's anti-democratic. It wants diktat rule. It wants Syrian sovereignty destroyed. It wants Syrians having no say over who'll lead them. It represents what the great majority of Syrians oppose.
It doesn't matter. Obama wants another imperial trophy. He intends war to get it.
Unchanged US Policy on Iran

Longstanding US plans remain firm. Softened rhetoric means nothing. It reflects mumbo jumbo duplicity. It's subterfuge. It's fake. It masquerades as change. Anti-Iranian policy is fixed.
Washington tolerates no independent governments. It wants subservient pro-Western ones replacing them. It goes all out to do so.
Punishing sanctions are longstanding. They're lawless. They're ineffective. They hurt ordinary Iranians most. They're imposed for that reason.
War is a bottom line option. Rogue states operate that way. America's by far the worst. Obama lives by the sword. Throughout his tenure, he's ravaged one country after another.
He intends escalated war on Syria. Expect a false flag pretext to launch it. Iran's turn awaits. Rohani's election changes nothing.
Iran Bashing

It's longstanding. It's been ongoing since the 1979 Iranian revolution. February 11, 2014 marks its 35th anniversary.
It ended a generation of repressive Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi rule. He's not missed.
In 1953, Theodore Roosevelt's grandson/CIA operative Kermit Roosevelt engineered the Agency's first coup. Democratically elected Mohammad Mosaddegh was ousted.
At the time, The New York Times called him "the most popular politician in the country." It didn't matter. Washington wanted its man in charge.
Reza Shah Pahlavi was installed. America and Britain regained an Iranian client state. A generation of darkness followed. In 1979 it ended.
Obama's General Assembly Address

His address didn't surprise. It was beginning-to-end demagogic boilerplate. It featured imperial mumbo jumbo. He turned truth on its head like he always does.
A year ago he claimed intervening in Libya was to "cope with violent conflict, care for the wounded, and craft a vision for the future in which the rights of all Libyans would be respected."
"And after the revolution, (he) supported the birth of a new democracy, as Libyans held elections, and built new institutions, and began to move forward after decades of dictatorship."
Fact check
Libya was Africa's most developed country. Most Libyans supported Gaddafi. They did so for good reasons. He provided free healthcare, education and much more.
Merkel's Germany

On September 23, Der Spiegel headlined "Word From Berlin: Triumph Confirms 'Era of Merkelism."
She "won a stunning victory. Conservatives (achieved) the best result in two decades. Merkel is at the zenith of her power."
Financial Times contributor Wolfgang Munchau headlined "Merkel's almost total political triumph," saying:
"Just a few votes shy of an absolute majority was the best conceivable result Angela Merkel could have had." "It was an electoral triumph of the kind that are extremely rare in German politics."
Syria's Troubled Waters

Conflict continues. It's raged for two and half years. It shows no signs of ending. Washington's peace overtures ring hollow. Obama prioritizes war.
Russia represents the last line of defense against it. Vladimir Putin responsibly endorses peaceful conflict resolution.
On Monday, he addressed Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member states. They include Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
Afghanistan and Serbia are observers. Iran's a possible future member. CSTO is an intergovernmental military alliance. Its charter opposes aggression.
