Washington tolerates no sovereign independent governments. It wants pro-Western ones replacing them. It wants subservient ones it controls.
After Chavez became president in February 1999, Bolivarian social justice was attacked.
Mass protests aborted an April 2002 coup attempt. A 64-day 2002 - 03 general strike and oil management lockout caused severe economic disruption.
An August 2004 national recall referendum failed. Chavez won a resounding 59% majority. Other disruptions occurred regularly. They continue. More on that below.Washington declared Chavez a regional enemy. It wants President Nicolas Maduro toppled. It wants a subservient stooge replacing him. It wants Venezuela made a client state.

Critics denigrated Chavez for 14 years. He was wrongfully called a strongman, an autocrat, a dictator. Rumsfeld once compared him to Hitler. Former Bush administration Deputy Secretary of State/Director of National Intelligence John Negroponte lied, saying:
Chavez "use(s) his control of the legislature and other institutions to continue to stifle the opposition, reduce press freedom, and entrench himself through measures that are technically legal, but which nonetheless constrict democracy."
Washington spent years trying to eliminate him. In March 2013, it succeeded. He was likely either poisoned or infected with cancer causing substances. Four major surgeries in 18 months couldn't save him.
Nicolas Maduro replaced him. He did so democratically. He knows what he's up against. Before and after his April election, efforts to destabilize Venezuela followed.

More than two years on since the “revolution” of Feb. 2011, the security crisis is exacerbating by the day threatening Libya with an implosion charged with potential realistic risks to the geopolitical unity of the Arab north African country, turning this crisis into a national existential one. Obviously the status quo is unsustainable.
“Libya is imploding two years after the former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi” was captured and killed on October 20,” Patrick Cockburn wrote in British The Independent on last Oct. 10.
Libya’s oil industry has become the target of violent attacks and civil protests, closing export terminals in east and west or/and creating an oil black market. “Security guards” at the country’s main ports are on strike and selling oil independently in spite of a 67% in pay for employees of the state oil sector on last Oct. 31. Libyan oil minister, Abdulbari Ali al-Arousi, told the Financial Times on last April 29 that disruptions to production and export cost the country about $1bn over the previous five months only.

Many thousands of political prisoners languish in America's global gulag. They do so unjustly. War on terror victims increased earlier numbers.
Muslims are mostly affected. They're wrongfully vilified. They're persecuted for their faith and ethnicity. At times it's for their activism, prominence and/or charity. They committed no crimes.
They continue being hunted down, rounded up, detained indefinitely, isolated, denied all rights, convicted on bogus charges, and imprisoned longterm.
Two victims seek redress. They want their convictions overturned. They have every right to demand it.
Both are now free. One is David Hicks. His book titled "Guantanamo: My Journey" discussed his nightmare.

Not many people doubt that Israel was behind Arafat’s death, especially now, when it became immanently clear that it was radioactive Polonium 210 that was responsible for the late leader’s lethal symptoms. It has been already established that just a few countries could produce Polonium let alone deliver it to the besieged Arafat’s Headquarters in Ramallah. The Palestinian committee investigating the death of Yasser Arafat in 2004 confirmed today that Israel is actually the "only suspect” in this murder case.

Washington abhors it. So does Israel. Policies assure measures to advance it fail. So-called Israeli/Palestinian peace talks are dead on arrival. They continue despite no chance for success.
Washington's war on Syria rages out-of-control. So-called US peace overtures ring hollow. American arms and munitions flow freely to insurgent invaders.
Efforts to normalize relations with Iran are rigged. They're manipulated to fail. Previous articles explained.
Iran's nuclear program is entirely legitimate. It has no military component. It's red herring cover for longstanding US/Israeli regime change plans. If Iran had no nuclear program, another pretext would be used.
France played bad cop in Geneva. Washington, Israel, its lobby, and overall Zionist influence bear full responsibility. America wants unchallenged global dominance. It wants all independent governments eliminated. Israel's regional agenda is longstanding.

When Edward Snowden met with Guardian reporter Glenn Greenwald to turn over documents revealing the extent of the NSA spying program, he did more than provide an education to the entire world concerning the reach of the American Empire. He also very likely protected himself from far flung and highly illegal machinations to silence him. Safely ensconced in Russia, Snowden is now reportedly working for a Russian website. His revelations continue to impact the public persona of the US, worldwide.
Other whistleblowers and journalists have not been so fortunate.
Enter Jeffrey Silverman…
Silverman, who was born in Washington DC and served in the US Army prior to receiving an MS in Agricultural Development/International Development, had been living in the Republic of Georgia since 1991. He has done in-depth investigative reporting on chemical and biological weapons, the alleged murder of the former Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Zhvania and on black torture sites in the former Soviet Union.

In Costa Rica, publicly-owned banks have been available for so long and work so well that people take for granted that any country that knows how to run an economy has a public banking option. Costa Ricans are amazed to hear there is only one public depository bank in the United States (the Bank of North Dakota), and few people have private access to it.
So says political activist Scott Bidstrup, who writes:
For the last decade, I have resided in Costa Rica, where we have had a “Public Option” for the last 64 years.
There are 29 licensed banks, mutual associations and credit unions in Costa Rica, of which four were established as national, publicly-owned banks in 1949. They have remained open and in public hands ever since—in spite of enormous pressure by the I.M.F. [International Monetary Fund] and the U.S. to privatize them along with other public assets. The Costa Ricans have resisted that pressure—because the value of a public banking option has become abundantly clear to everyone in this country.

The Night of Broken Glass
This weekend marked a traumatic event for Jewish people living in Germany in 1938.
Kristallnacht, the Night of Broken Glass, happened 75 years ago when Nazi thugs conducted a wave of violent anti-Jewish pogroms on the streets of Berlin and other cities in Germany.
On November 9 and 10, 1938, Nazi storm troopers and non-Jewish civilians descended on towns throughout Germany and parts of Austria, destroying Jewish homes, schools, synagogues, hospitals and businesses. At least 91 Jews were killed in the two-day attack, and roughly 30,000 people were arrested and sent to concentration camps. This dark chapter in German history is seen as a precursor to the Holocaust.
U.S. President Barack Obama issued a statement to commemorate the anniversary of Kristallnacht, stating that “the event foreshadowed the systematic slaughter of six million Jews and millions of other innocent victims.”
That Kristallnacht foreshadowed the holocaust is a true statement.
But what foreshadowed Kristallnacht?
The story of Herschel Grynszpan, arguably the most pivotal teenager of the Holocaust next to Anne Frank, is largely ignored in the commemorations and articles about Kristallnacht.
In the 1930s and 1940s Grynszpan was a major media story but today, other than a fleeting mention as a prelude or pretext to the pogrom, he is mostly ignored.
The Jewish Week Media Group (TJWMG), which claims to provide great journalism to the Jewish community, published The Rest Of The Kristallnacht Story in November of 2010.
Jonathan Mark, Associate Editor for TJWMG reports that Kristallnacht happened just two days after a five-foot tall 17-year old .… Herschel Grynszpan entered the German embassy in Paris ostensibly to deliver a document. Ushered into Vom Rath’s office, Grynszpan announced: “In the name of 12,000 persecuted Jews, here is the document,” and he fired five bullets and killed Ernst Vom Rath, a Nazi assigned to the German embassy.
Things don’t just happen they are made to happen.
Not surprising, TJWMG, a Jewish publication, misrepresents, distorts and obfuscates the Herschel Grynszpan story in order to fulfill their mission to strengthen the Jewish community by failing to enlighten them about whatreallyhappend on November 7, 1938.

Some people confuse Veterans Day with Memorial Day. They're both federal holidays. The latter remembers combat related dead service personnel.
The former honors war and peacetime veterans. It largely thanks living ones. It does so disingenuously.
Veterans Day was formerly Armistice Day. It commemorates the war to end all wars. In 1918, guns on both sides largely fell silent. They did so on the 11th hour of the 11th day of 11th month.
In 1919, remembrance began. Woodrow Wilson proclaimed it, saying:
"To us in America, the reflections of Armistice Day will be filled with solemn pride in the heroism of those who died in the country's service and with gratitude for the victory, both because of the thing from which it has freed us and because of the opportunity it has given America to show her sympathy with peace and justice in the councils of the nations."
