Obama's New National Security Strategy: Ugly Business As Usual

February 12th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Periodic National Security Strategy (NSS) documents reveal Washington's dark side. Updated versions reflect old wine in new bottles.

Including permanent wars on humanity. Against one invented enemy after another. Waging what the late Gore Vidal called "perpetual war for perpetual peace."

Making the world safe for monied interests. At the expense of popular ones. At the cost of millions of lives and appalling human misery.

Endless US direct and proxy wars rage against multiple countries. New conflicts await to be launched.

The business of America is war. Destroying humanity one country at a time or in multiples. Wealth, power and dominance alone matter.

Palestinians Between a Rock and a Hard Place

February 12th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

On the one hand, Palestinian face racist Israeli persecution. On the other, their own so-called government abuses them horrifically.

It gets worse. On February 5, theTimes of Israel reported collaborative PA officials gave the IDF nearly one-third of its Operation Protective Edge targets. Abbas is a longtime Israeli collaborator. He subverts Palestine's liberating struggle

They remain isolated on their own under conditions no one should have to endure. World leaders able to help do nothing.

Whenever things get too quiet, at strategically timed moments, or ahead of general elections, Israel invents another Palestinian terror plot.

Arming Ukraine: Ongoing Since Last Year

February 12th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Obama continues the charade about continuing diplomacy before deciding whether to supply Kiev with weapons and munitions.

One last push for peace, he claimed. "If…diplomacy fails, what I've asked my team to do is to look at all the options."

"And the possibility of lethal defensive weapons is one of those options that's being examined. But I have not made a decision about that yet." Fact: Obama is a serial liar. Nothing he says has credibility. Truth is polar opposite his Big Lies.

Saying he'll do whatever it takes "to help Ukraine bolster its defenses in the face of separatist aggression" flies in the face of US planned, implemented and directed Kiev dirty war without mercy against Donbas residents wanting democracy, rejecting fascism.

Munich's March to War with Russia

February 11th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

This year's Security Conference features a shocking but unsurprising drumbeat of anti-Russian hate-mongering.

RT International called proceedings a Russian "hate fest." An outrageous display of US-led Western cynicism, Russia-bashing, and Big Lies heading things toward East/West confrontation.

Vice President Joe Biden shames the office he holds. He's a caricature of a high US official and then some.

"Europe is the cornerstone of US engagement around the world," he said. Code language for US-dominated NATO global aggression.

Russia bashing followed. Biden lied claiming Moscow aims "to redraw the map of Europe by force." Seeks "to divide Ukraine between east and west."

Putin v. Obama and Netanyahu on Iran's Nuclear Program

February 11th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Iran's nuclear program is entirely peaceful. No evidence suggests a military component. False accusations persist anyway.

Proposed congressional legislation imposes more sanctions if Tehran fails to agree to outrageous US demands.

Ones no nation should accept. Intended to subvert its legitimate program. Multiple P5+1 negotiating rounds haven't resolved things. Nor are they likely to as long as Washington remains hardline. On Sunday, John Kerry gave Tehran an ultimatum.

Saying "the only chance I can see of an extension at this point in time would be that you really have the outlines of the agreement but if we're not able to make the fundamental decisions that have to be made over the course of the next weeks, literally, I think it would be impossible to extend."

Russian Aggression: The Big Lie Blasted Worldwide Ad Nauseam

February 11th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Try imagining one dollar for each time Western officials and presstitute media scoundrels screamed "Russian aggression" daily since US planned, directed and implemented Kiev aggression on Donbas began last April.

Easily enough for round-trip first class travel from any point of departure to any destination several times over.

Plus ground transportation, 5-star hotel accommodations, first-class meals, miscellaneous expenses, with enough left for souvenir trip remembrances.

Big Lies have a life of their own. Circulate worldwide with electronic ease. Printed multiple times daily in Western publications.

Russian aggression, Russian hoards, Russian threats, big bad Russian bear comments infest so-called Western journalism like crabgrass besets lawns.

by Stephen Lendman

South Florida University Professor Sami Al-Arian was one of thousands of US political prisoners. Outrageously treated.

U.S. Military Expert Shoots Down Washington’s Weapons-to-Ukraine Argument

February 11th, 2015

Eric Zuesse

Michael Kofman isn’t just a defense expert; he’s specialized in the precise region where Ukraine is located. He spent years managing professional military education programs and military-to-military engagements for senior officers at National Defense University. There he served as a subject matter expert and adviser to military and government officials on issues in Russia/Eurasia. And, now, he is telling the Brookings Institution war-hawks, and its insider ‘experts’ whose expertise is about getting America into invasions but not getting us out, and is certainly not about “winning” anything more than defense contracts — he is telling them that their arguments for getting us into sending weapons to Ukraine as our “proxy” against Russia, is a shockingly stupid and counterproductive idea for everyone but America’s armaments-makers.

Failed Ukraine Peace Talks

February 10th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Call it preordained. It didn't surprise despite typical diplomatic rhetoric following Friday's Moscow talks. More on this below.

Washington's dirty hands operate everywhere overtly and covertly. Failure was manipulated behind the scenes.

Obama wants war, not peace. He wants Donbas democracy crushed. Hardline fascist rule throughout Ukraine.

All former Soviet republics and Warsaw Pact countries incorporated into NATO. Ukraine most of all. Washington is using it as a dagger targeting Russia's heartland.

America's ultimate goal is regime change. Ousting Putin. Replacing his government with pro-Western stooges.

America gaining control over Russia's vast land mass and resources. Plundering them for profit.

NATO Heading for War with Russia?

February 9th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

US-dominated NATO is the greatest threat to world peace, stability and security. Washington wants regime change in Russia.

Economic and political wars rage. Ineffective in achieving America's aims. Russia is strong and resilient.

Putin is a master chess player. Obama is buffoon-like in comparison. His neocon infested administration threatens world peace.

Lunatics influencing policies promote permanent wars. Challenge Moscow irresponsibly.

Use Kiev's military as a proxy US force against Russia. Getting battered in the process. More on this below.

Deputy NATO Secretary-General/former US Defense Secretary for International Affairs Alexander Vershbow effectively runs the organization.

He played a major role in expanding NATO. Including outside Europe. Establishing new bases in Central Asia. Surrounding Russia with US military strength.

He calls the Russian Federation "more of an adversary than a partner." Vows "NATO enlargement will continue."
