UN peace coordinator unwelcome by Palestinians

The PLO (Palestine Liberation Organisation) did not object to the appointment of new UN special coordinator for the Middle East peace process Nikolay Mladenov, although he was described by Tayseer Khaled, a member of the PLO’s Executive Committee, as “persona non grata” — not trusted by the Palestinians and nor qualified for the job.
The 15-member UN Security Council unanimously voted to appoint Bulgarian Mladenov, 42, to succeed Holland’s Robert Serry. He would also be the representative of the UN secretary general to the International Quartet (the UN, US, EU and Russia), and personal representative of the UN chief to the PLO (the State of Palestine) and the Palestinian Authority (PA).

The Greek government is currently locked in a life and death struggle with the elite which dominate the banks and political decision-making centers of the European Union. What are at stake are the livelihoods of 11 million Greek workers, employees and small business people and the viability of the European Union. If the ruling Syriza government capitulates to the demands of the EU bankers and agrees to continue the austerity programs, Greece will be condemned to decades of regression, destitution and colonial rule. If Greece decides to resist, and is forced to exit the EU, it will need to repudiate its 270 billion Euro foreign debts, sending the international financial markets crashing and causing the EU to collapse.
Crimea: Was It Seized by Russia, or Did Russia Block Its Seizure by the U.S.?

Both before and after Crimea left Ukraine and joined Russia in a public referendum on 16 March 2014, the Gallup Organization polled Crimeans on behalf of the U.S. Government, and found them to be extremely pro-Russian and anti-American, and also anti-Ukrainian.(Neither poll was subsequently publicized, because the results of each were the opposite of what the sponsor had wished.) Both polls were done on behalf of the U.S. Government, in order to find Crimeans' attitudes toward the United States and toward Russia, and also toward Ukraine, not only before but also after the planned U.S. coup in Ukraine, which occurred in February 2014 but was actually kicked off on 20 November 2013, the day before Ukraine’s democratically elected President Viktor Yanukovych publicly announced that Ukraine had received a better economic offer from Russia’s Eurasian Economic Community than from America’s European Union. (The EEC subsequently became the Eurasian Economic Union, now that it was clear that Ukraine was going with the EU.) That decision by Yanukovych in favor of the EEC was mistakenly thought by him to be merely an economic one, and he didn’t know the extent to which the U.S. Government had set up an operation to overthrow him if he didn’t go along with the EU’s offer. Ukraine Conflict Continues Despite Ceasefire

It doesn't surprise. Washington wants war, not peace. So does Kiev. On Tuesday, RT International's press crew was shelled near Donetsk's airport.
At the time, they were filming. Correspondent Murad Gazdiev twittered: "Just came under #Ukrainian mortar fire in #donetsk airport. Seemed to be targeting us. Footage on RT. Everyone fine."
On air, Gazdiev said:
"When we were about halfway through the airport - we were by the hangars - mortar shells started whistling down right next to us, within 50 to 100 meters." "There was a lot of cover and we got behind that. There were a dozen, maybe more mortar shells. And they just kept coming down where we were making for."
I Was Born in Israel Many Years before I Realized Israel Was Palestine

I was born in Israel and it was many years before I realized that Israel was Palestine. I was relatively patriotic. I was looking forward to serving in the army and then I grasped that there was little truth in the Jewish historical narrative. I then gathered that I was living on someone else’s land. At the same time I discovered the saxophone. By the age of 30, I left Israel and never went back.
Q: There is some kind of rebellion in your music; how do you explain this?
A: My music can be very soft and reflective. Sometimes it is very funny and occasionally it is furious. There are too many reasons to be angry. I’m far from happy when I see Israel flattening Gaza. I’m furious when I find out 80 percent of British conservative MPs are ‘friends of Israel.’ I’m angry when I find out the Jewish lobby is pushing America into another World War and instead of becoming violent, sometimes I use music as a channel to express my anger.

Oleg Sentsov is an anti-Russian Ukrainian nationalist who also happens to be a screenwriter and director of Ukrainian-language movies.
Because he hates Russia and refuses to accept Crimea’s being again a part of Russia (which it was between 1783 and 1954, and which the vast majority of Crimeans wanted it to return to being), he is now treated by Vladimir Putin’s Russia in the same way that Barack Obama’s America treated Osama bin Laden’s bookkeeper Zacarias Moussaoui in a federal penitentiary until recenly (incommunicado) and continues to treat the inmates at America’s Guantanamo Bay Cuban prison: barbarically detained before (or even without) trial. Sentsov might possibly be being treated as atrociously as America treats its “black site” prisoners around the world, but no one can really know, because Sentsov is blocked from communicating with the outside world, except via his lawyer, or during two brief pretrial court apearances on July 7th and September 29th to issue his not-guilty pleas.

Human consciousness and the ability to understand that which really occurred in the past, is a skill that many people have little experience with mastering. Scholarship and researching the yesteryear relies upon analyzing accounts of others and is usually based on chronicles written centuries ago. Most of the original evidence used in writing the accounts may be lost, based upon oral myths or accurate translations of vanished languages. Even when the original sources are impeccable in their authenticity or go unquestioned in the ivory towers of academic scrutiny, the crucial question still remains, Was It So? Attempts to provide definitive proof, when it comes to explaining political events, relies more often on the art of understanding the connection among factions, based within the context of their intended agendas then smoking gun documents.
At the offset, the axiom that history is written by the victors, applies more to the popular culture then just to stories of military campaigns. Control of the perception of current events is the first stage for formulating the narrative, which will be accepted as the initial draft of history. The means upon which societies are manipulated have more to do with defining acceptable reports, using fictional circumstances and conclusions, then the butt of a rifle.
Obama's Demagoguery on Countering Violent Extremism

Obama proliferates Big Lies. He's incapable of truth-telling. On February 18, he delivered closing remarks at the just concluded White House summit on countering violent extremism.
Last month, Obama's press secretary Josh Earnest called it a summit "to highlight domestic and international efforts to prevent violent extremists and their supporters from radicalizing, recruiting, or inspiring individuals or groups in the United States and abroad to commit acts of violence, efforts made even more imperative in light of recent, tragic attacks in Ottawa, Sydney, and Paris."
"This summit will build on the strategy the White House released in August of 2011, Empowering Local Partners to Prevent Violent Extremism in the United States, the first national strategy to prevent violent extremism domestically."
In September, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson first announced it. He cited a nonexistent Islamic State threat.
Saying an October summit would be held. It was delayed until mid-February. Why wasn't it explained?
Poroshenko Wants NATO Troops in Donbass

He's desperate. He calls them European peacekeepers. He wants them after suffering catastrophic defeat in Debastsevo. More on this below.
The Saker web site reports rebel forces in total control of Debastsevo. It cites Russian sources saying about 1,000 troops didn't surrender.
Sputnik News reported Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) military spokesman Eduard Basurin estimating about 3,000 junta troops remaining.
Rebels intend simply waiting them out to succumb to hunger, cold and recognition that continued fighting is futile. They can't last much longer. They're virtually out of ammunition and food.
Debaltsevo represents the "catastrophic collapse of combat capability of the junta forces," said The Saker. It's why Poroshenko is desperate for Western help. He wants NATO doing his fighting for him. Kiev's military is a spent force. The Saker said it reached its "breaking point." Debaltsevo represents a Ukrainian Stalingrad. Engaging rebels head-to-head assures more catastrophic defeats.
