Netanyahu failed to Mention How Israel Managed To Retain Its Nuclear Weapons Programe

March 10th, 2015

William Hanna

“It is interesting — but not surprising — to note that in all the words written and uttered about the Kennedy assassination, Israel's intelligence agency, the Mossad, has never been mentioned. And yet a Mossad motive is obvious. On this question, as on almost all others, American reporters and commentators cannot bring themselves cast Israel in an unfavourable light — despite the obvious fact that Mossad complicity is as plausible as any of the other theories.” - Former Rep. Paul Findley (R-I11.), (http://www.wrmea.org/1992-march/speaking-out-in-kennedy-assassination-anyone-but-mossad-is-fair-game-for-u.s.-media.html)

Proposed European Army: Good Idea or Bad?

March 10th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

For sure what the world needs now is less militarism, not more. World peace depends on demilitarization - especially eliminating all radiological, chemical, biological and other banned weapons.

The only positive argument for militarizing Europe more than already would be if doing so dented US-dominated NATO, - if it meant breaking with the Alliance aimed at eliminating it altogether.

Not for reasons EU Commission head Jean-Claude Junker cites. He's a former Luxembourg prime minister. His proposal is polar opposite what's needed. It's lunacy. He long argued for establishing a separate European force. He claims it's needed to defend so-called "European values," face up to Russia, and safeguard against other undefined threats.

Choice for Palestinians in Israeli Elections: None

March 10th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

On March 17, Israelis will choose among candidates from a dozen parties for 120 Knesset seats. Coalition governance will follow.

No single party in Israeli history ever won a clear majority. Netanyahu's Likud and Isaac Herzog/Tzipi Livni's Zionist Union are virtually even in polls. One or the other will likely head new coalition governance when formed. Democracy is pure fantasy. So is an Israeli left. Fascists run things. Expect no change this time. Choice for Israeli Jews is much like for Americans - between death by hanging or firing squad.

Arab Knesset members representing Israel's 20% Palestinian population have no say whatever on policy. They're barely tolerated potted plants. Some are maliciously maligned - at times openly attacked.

Israeli Foreign Minister Wants Arab Citizens Beheaded

March 10th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Anyone doubting racist lunatics run Israel take note of what ultranationalist/fascist/defrocked for criminality/reinstated Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman proposes.

He wants anyone he considers disloyal to Israel as a Jewish state beheaded. Recall GW Bush's polarizing September 20, 2001 statement to a joint congressional session about "either (being) with us or against us."

Ahead of next week's Israeli elections, Lieberman addressed the Herzliya Interdisciplinary Center, saying:

"Whoever is with us should get everything. Whoever is against us, there's noting else to do. We have to life up an axe and remove his head. Otherwise, we won't survive here."

He's one of many radicalized racists running Israel - fear/hate/war-mongering lunatics in charge. Lieberman is one of the worst.

Europe Blocks U.S. from Racing to War Against Russia

March 9th, 2015

Eric Zuesse

On Friday, 6 March, President Obama placed temporarily on ice his planned increase in weapons and soldiers to help the Ukrainian Government to ‘defend’ Ukraine against the ‘terrorists’ in Donbass, which is the Ukrainian region that had voted 90% for the President whom the Obama Administration overthrew in February 2014. (Here is where the EU first learned, on 26 February 2014, that the overthrow of Viktor Yanukovych had been a coup instead of a genuine popular revolution.) Obama replaced that Government with a racist-fascist anti-Russian regime, which quickly set about exterminating as many residents of Donbass as possible, as quickly as possible (calling them ‘terrorists,’ for their refusal to be ruled by the new Obama-imposed, anti-Russian, Government).

According to German Economic News, Germany’s Angela Merkel and France’s Francois Hollande are balking at the speed of Obama’s rush to war against Russia.

The Unthinkable: Possible Nuclear War with Russia

March 9th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Lunatics running things in Washington make anything possible. Obama looks like Bush on steroids.

Neocons infest his administration and Congress. Permanent war on humanity more than ever is official US policy.

Ukraine is ground zero. Ongoing conflict risks the unthinkable - direct US confrontation with Russia risking nuclear war. Former Soviet leader Mikhail Gorbachev warned Ukraine's conflict could "unavoidably lead to a nuclear war.."

Nuclear arms expert Steven Starr warned about things headed recklessly toward this possibility.

Nuclear expert Helen Caldicott believes US/Russian confrontation risks nuclear war. Things today are more dangerous than any previous time in the post-WW II period.

Netanyahu: He Came, He Saw, He Conquered The Power of Israel over the United States

March 9th, 2015

James Petras

There have been times when history has played tricks with man and...has magnified the features of essentially small persons into a parody of greatness. - Rabindranath Tagore(on Benito Mussolini)

Introduction

How is it that the ruler (Benjamin Netanyahu) of a puny country (Israel) of 8.2 million (6.2 million Jews) with the 37th biggest economy (GDP in current prices) in the world dictates war policy and secures the willing submission of the legislature of the largest economy and most powerful military empire in the world?

What significance does Netanyahu’s speech to the US Congress have, beyond the fact that he uses it as a platform to attack the elected President of the US, to denounce US peace negotiations and to demand that Congress adopt policies designed to precipitate a war with Iran?

Rage Against Netanyahu

March 9th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Israelis most often are as out-of-touch with reality as Americans - sleepwalking through their daily lives instead of becoming activist to improve them.

Saturday night was different - the exception proving the rule. Tens of thousands of Israelis rallied against Netanyahu's appalling leadership in Tel Aviv's Rabin Square under the banner "Israel Wants Change." The New York Times and Washington Post ignored it. The Wall Street Journal published a woefully short three-paragraph AP report.

WaPo apparently thought a Palestinian injuring five Israelis was more important than a major anti-Netanyahu mass protest.

Obama's Demagoguery in Selma

March 9th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

This weekend marked the 50th anniversary of Selma, AL's "bloody Sunday." The 1965 Voting Rights Act followed violent civil rights clashes.

Obama had the audacity to lead Saturday’s commemorative Edmund Pettus bridge march along with others very much deserving to be there.

Throughout his tenure, he's done more to harm blacks and other disadvantaged Americans than perhaps any post-Civil War president.

Black poverty, unemployment, underemployment, homelessness, hunger and deprivation are greater than any time in memory - worse than during Great Depression years.

Black youth unemployment tops 50%. In Obama's home city of Chicago, an Urban League report revealed a shocking 92% unemployment rate among black male teenagers.

The 'Democrat' Brzezinski Says Russia's Putin Wants to Invade NATO

March 8th, 2015

Eric Zuesse

Zbigniew Brzezinski, U.S. President Obama’s friend and advisor on Russia, is a born Polish aristocrat who has hated Russia his whole life but who hid that hatred until after the communist Soviet Union collapsed and he then publicly came out as hating and fearing specifically Russia — the nation, its people, and their culture. In 1998, he wrote The Grand Chessboard, arguing for an unchallengeable U.S. empire over the whole world, and for the defeat of Russia as the prerequisite to enabling that stand-alone global American empire to reign over the planet.

He now has told the U.S. Congress (on February 6th but not reported until March 6th, when the German Economic News found the clip) that Russia’s leader Vladimir Putin “seized” Crimea and that Putin will probably try to do the same to Estonia and Latvia, unless the U.S. immediately supplies weapons and troops to those countries and to Ukraine. Here is his stunning testimony (click on the link under it, to hear it, but the key part is quoted in print below):  http://deutsche-wirtschafts-nachrichten.de/2015/03/06/brzezinski-rede-vor-dem-us-kongress-russland-wird-angreifen/
