Congress and Israel Aim to Sabotage Iran Nuclear Deal

April 9th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Longstanding US policy toward Iran calls for regime change - by war if other methods fail.

Thursday's nuclear framework deal changes nothing. It's unclear what Washington will agree on during discussions toward trying to finalize agreement terms by June 30.

John Kerry runs US foreign policy. He's committed to a special US/Israeli relationship. His Senate pro-Israel voting record was second to none.

He was a leading voice for strengthening Israel's security throughout his Senate tenure.

He remains so at State. Earlier, he opposed Iran's nuclear program altogether. He called it "unacceptable."

Iranian Nuclear Program Framework Deal: Hold the Cheers

April 9th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

On Thursday, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif and EU foreign policy chief Federica Mogherini announced all parties agreed on framework principles.

Enough agreement to let further negotiations continue toward trying to reach final resolution by June 30.

Despite upbeat comments, much remains to be accomplished. Important details are unresolved.

Talks will continue with no guarantee of success. Congressional neocon lunatics, Israel and its US Lobby intend going all-out to prevent normalizing relations with Iran. More on this below.

Netanyahu Insists Iran Deal Includes His Demands

April 9th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

He elevates chutzpah to a higher level. He and likeminded Israeli lunatics reject framework agreed on terms.

They want their own imposed - or no deal at all. They want Iran denied the right to develop and use peaceful, legitimate nuclear power like dozens of other nations not criticized.

They want final say over any future agreement. Ideally, they want none at all.

They want Iran isolated and weakened. They want its government ousted.

They want Israel's main regional rival eliminated. They're willing to wage war to achieve their objectives.

Netanyahu said any deal with Iran must include "a clear and unambiguous Iranian recognition of Israel's right to exist."

Iranian Nuclear Program Framework Deal Postmortems

April 8th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Next to Russia, Iran is the West's favorite punching bag.

Demonizing the Islamic Republic is longstanding - with no just cause whatever. Fake reasons are invented.

Tehran's nuclear program and other policies aren't what matter. Its sovereign independence arouses Western ire - mainly America's.

Israel wants unchallenged regional hegemony. Iran is its main rival.

Israeli policy aims to eliminate it one way or another - by war if other alternatives fail. Washington's agenda is no different.

Framework agreement terms reached in Lausanne guarantee nothing ahead toward normalizing relations with Iran.

It takes a giant leap of faith to believe ongoing talks (if produce positive results by June 30) will end 36 years of virulent anti-Iranian sentiment.

Obama's Endless War on Humanity

April 7th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Throughout his tenure, he's waged one war after another at home and abroad.

From militarized killer cops, police state ruthlessness, and his kill list to drone murders and mass slaughter from 30,000 feet.

Obama and Bush II made America more than ever a pariah state.

He's a neocon masquerading as a populist leader. His rap sheet exceeds the worst of his predecessors. He's hard-right, reactionary, belligerent, pro-business, and pro-war.

He's soulless, anti-progressive, anti-populist, anti-labor, anti-fairness, anti-dissent, anti-democratic, anti-rule of law principles, anti-freedom, anti-civil and human rights, anti-environmental sanity, and anti-government of, by and for everyone equitably.

His proxy war on Yemen is his latest atrocity. Millions of lives are at risk.

Obama's Dirty War on Yemen Murdering Civilians

April 7th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Civilians suffer most in all wars. Yemen is no exception. Sanaa is becoming a ghost town.

One shopkeeper said "(t)here are very few people left here. Everyone has fled, and those who have stayed live alone without their families."

"So hardly anyone comes to buy anything anymore. Now I'm lucky if I make $20 a day."

"How can I pay my rent or even my electricity bills? If the situation stays like this then I'm sure I'll be out of business within days."

According to Yemeni Post editor-in-chief Hakin al-Masmari, "(a)t the beginning they were targeting only Sanaa, so people were fleeing to the provinces."

"However, now they have expended to the suburbs as well."

Israeli State Terror Targets Palestinian Lawmaker Khalida Jarrar

April 7th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

On April 2, the Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association reported Jarrar's arrest.

She's a Palestinian Legislative Council member, a civil society leader, and PLC Prisoners Commission head. She chairs Addameer's board of directors.

Israeli goon squad thugs raided her Ramallah area home pre-dawn. She was abducted and taken to an undisclosed location.

Israeli authorities targeted her earlier. They tolerate no opposition to their ruthlessness. In August 2014, they ordered her expelled from Ramallah to Jericho for six months - reduced to one month following an intense solidarity campaign, as well as international and diplomatic pressure on her behalf.

She defied Israel's order, stayed in her home, and said "it is the occupation (that) must leave our homeland."

Post-Nuclear Deal Iran Bashing

April 7th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

It didn't take long for anti-Iranian elements to step up propaganda war.

Israel's dirty hands are likely behind reports about Tehran allegedly providing Hamas with millions of dollars to rebuild tunnels its military and complicit Egypt destroyed.

London's Telegraph reported the story - featuring a menacing-looking propaganda photo. It cited unnamed "intelligence sources."

It said Iran is replenishing Hamas' "missile supplies…used to bombard residential neighbourhoods" during Israel’s Operation Protective Edge terror war.

Preparing for War Opposite Ways

April 7th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

America always prepares for war - endless ones against one targeted country after another, fought directly or through proxies.

Russia Urges Resolving Yemen's Conflict Diplomatically

April 7th, 2015

by Stephen Lendman

Russia is the world's leading peace and stability proponent. US policy is polar opposite.

You'd never know what Russia stands for the way it’s irresponsibly bashed. Big Lies substitute for hard truths.

Vladimir Putin, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and other Russian officials continue working tirelessly for peace in Syria, Ukraine and now Yemen.

On April 2, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich expressed great concern about Yemen's ongoing conflict.

Saying "Moscow continues to proceed from the assumption that there is no alternative to a political solution in the Yemeni crisis."
