Reason.tv The FCC has just taken initial steps to regulate the Internet service providers the same way it regulates telephone companies. Although Chairman Julius Genachowski has said he would use any regulatory powers with a “light touch,” having the FCC control any aspect of the Internet is a really bad idea for at least three reasons.

On Sunday morning, June 13, 2010, the Network of Spiritual Progressives (NSP), held a rally in Lafayette Park, opposite the White House. Their stated objective: “Prevent the corporate takeover of America.” Speaking at the rally were, among others: Rabbi Michael Lerner, Peter Gabel and Bill McKibben. Each of them shared their deep frustrations about President Barack Obama and his failure to come through on the changes, on a variety of issues, such as: symbolizing hope, working for peace and justice, and effectively addressing the matter of climate change, that he had promised that he would make, once elected, during the campaign.
