The Brooklyn Bridge has been shut down in one direction after protesters camped out near Wall Street spilled onto the roadway. Police have made hundreds of arrests and were continuing to stop people from blocking the roadway Saturday evening. The protesters are railing against corporate greed, global warming and social inequality. The group has been camped near Manhattan's downtown financial district for two weeks and has clashed with police on earlier occasions.

Activists staged a demonstration on Monday evening, September 26, 2011, in front of the Baltimore Gas & Electric Co. building in down town Baltimore, MD. The utility giant announced it intends to increase its rates to customers. Supposedly, it will do so, in order to "pay for part of the $81 million [it] spent to clean up after Hurricane irene," according to the press release of the "All Peoples Congress" organization. Human Rights activists, in Baltimore, MD, staged demonstrations on September 16th, 20th and 21st of September 2011, in support of Troy Davis. He was then on Death Row in a state of Georgia prison.
