Duplicitous Anti-Syrian Editorials

Media scoundrels march in lockstep. When America goes to war or plans one, they're supportive right or wrong.
Throughout months of conflict, they pilloried Assad. They did so unjustifiably. They turned truth on its head. They blame him for insurgent crimes. They do it repeatedly.
On August 30, Wall Street Journal editors headlined "The Chemical Evidence," saying:
"Kerry echoes Bush in making the case on WMD(s) in Syria. If (he) talked like this in 2004, he would have been president." Clear evidence showed another stolen election. Gore won in 2000. Kerry won convincingly. They knew it. They stayed silent. Bush lost both times. He got eight years in office.
Obama Invented Pretext for Lawless Aggression

When US enemies don't exist, they're invented. When rule of law principles are clear and unequivocal, they're twisted to fit US policy.
On August 30, White House Special Assistant to the President/Principal Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest said:
"When the president reaches a determination about the appropriate response and a legal justification is required to substantiate or to back up that decision, we'll produce one on our own."
In other words, reasons given will fit policy. They'll be created out of whole cloth. They'll violate core legal principles, standards and norms.
It doesn't matter. What Obama says goes. He wants war on Syria. He'll get it. Who'll argue with bombs away? Who'll confront cruise missile diplomacy? Who'll hold him accountable? Who challenged past war criminal presidents? They do what they want. They do it with impunity.
Obama's America: Gangsterism Writ Large

Obama's America is an out-of-control rogue state. It's nuclear armed and dangerous. It maintains large stockpiles of hugely toxic chemical and biological weapons.
They're used freely in all US wars. Washington threatens world peace. It risks global war. It's no land of the free and home of the brave. It's not beautiful.
It's no democracy. It's run by cutthroat criminals. They're gangsters. They're thugs. They're hoodlums. They're barbarians.
They're corrupt. They're morally depraved. They're ethically challenged. They want everything for themselves. They want unlimited wealth, power and privilege.
They're waging war on humanity for global dominance. They're benefitting at the expense of its survival. They need to be stopped at all costs. The alternative is potential annihilation.

If there were any moral, spiritual and intellectual values enshrined in the UNO Charter, the 21st century’s global political affairs could have been in more responsive shape and form than the warlike culture of the few. At least, the global community would have attained better sense of moral and legal accountability in the contemporary affairs.

Truth told, it’s a bit intense these days in Tehran as in most other countries in this region, and this observer fairly soon may be on what just might be the last Tehran-Damascus flight for some time in light of what could occur in the coming days.
Not that one is in any hurry to leave the Islamic Republic. I love Iran and its people, who in their basic values and outlook on life are about as American as apple pie. Iranians think a lot like me and my friends back home, and Americans think a lot like them, this despite the extremist, politically motivated portrayals of each other designed by their governments.
Obama May Be Walking Into An Impeachment Trap

The irony of the Obama presidency may hinge on whether he attacks Syria. He began his presidency prematurely winning the Nobel Peace Prize and could end it being impeached for starting an illegal war without congressional or UN approval – violating both domestic and international law.
Yesterday 163 Members of Congress sent letters to President Obama telling him that under the US Constitution he is required to get congressional approval before beginning a military attack. The letter drafted by Rep. Scott Rigel (R-VA) had 140 signatures, 119 Republicans and 21 Dems. Rep. Barbara Lee also circulated a letter that had 53 signers, that calls on the president to seek congressional approval.
Report: US Attack On Syria to Begin Saturday --UNLIKELY

August 30, 2013. A reporter with Israel’s most widely read newspaper has been told by defense establishment officials that a US-led attack on Syria will begin on Saturday and end when Barack Obama meets Vladimir Putin on Wednesday.
British and American military might is now fully in place and prepared for strikes which experts say will take the form of Tomahawk land-attack cruise missiles fired from warships or submarines.
In a related story, U.S. Ambassador to Israel Daniel Shapiro has promised a “strong and serious response,” to Assad’s alleged chemical atrocity last week, despite American officials admitting to the New York Times that there is no “smoking gun” that directly links President Assad to the attack.
U.S. intelligence officials also told the Associated Press that the intelligence proving Assad’s culpability is “no slam dunk,” a far cry from the Obama administration’s rhetoric, which held that Assad’s responsibility was “undeniable.”

The officials at the time said the deterioration of the situation in the country [Syria] made it impossible for the embassy to continue operations and for the staff to remain. "The government is getting stretched beyond its ability to control the various elements of violence in the country," one senior official said. - CNN. Relations have been strained between the United States and Pakistan, Libya, Syria and Iran in recent months. Iran has recently shot down a US stealth drone and has also been performing drills practicing closing the Strait of Hormuz.
I can’t be sure what is going on in Syria but I will give you odds the countdown to World War III won’t be starting tomorrow.

Nobel Peace Laureate Obama Plans War on Syria Based on Lies

In awarding its 2009 Nobel Peace Prize, Committee members turned truth on its head, saying:
Obama made "extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples."
He "created a new climate in international politics. Multinational diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions play."
He envisions "a world without nuclear weapons."
"Democracy and human rights are to be strengthened."
"Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world's attention and given its people hope for a better future." "For 108 years, the Norwegian Nobel Committee has sought to stimulate precisely the international policy and those attitudes for which Obama is now the world's leading spokesman."
