The Black Panther Party: Its Legacy and Impact Today

October 21st, 2010

Larry Pinkney

“If you’re not willing to die for it, put the word ‘freedom’ out of your vocabulary.”
-Malcolm X [el-Hajj Malik el-Shabazz]

“If you tremble with indignation at every injustice then you are a comrade of mine.”
-Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara

The Black Panther Party (for self Defense) was formed in October of 1966, in Oakland, California. Thus, it is appropriate that especially during this month of October, 2010, an examination be made of the intrepid legacy of the Black Panther Party, what circumstances brought it into existence, and its continuing impact today.

The Black Panther Party was initially organized in response to police brutality and the deplorable economic and social conditions in Black communities throughout the United States. In a relatively short period of time the Party grew to systematically link and encompass the related issues of U.S. imperialistic wars abroad and corporate hegemony at home. Strong and active political alliances were also made between the Black Panther Party and other progressive and radical organizations of all colors around mutual concerns that affected everyday poor and disenfranchised people---no matter what their gender or color.

Goon Squad Where Brains are Tenderly Washed, Disinfected and Made Usable Again

How We Brainwash the Sheeple: From "Duck And Cover" in the 1950's to UK schools doing UFO crash drills

Duck and Cover was a suggested method of personal protection against the effects of a nuclear detonation which the United States government taught to generations of United States school children from the late 1940s into the 1980s. This was supposed to protect them in the event of an unexpected nuclear attack which, they were told, could come at any time without warning. Immediately after they saw a flash they had to stop what they were doing and get on the ground under some cover—such as a table, or at least next to a wall—and assume the fetal position, lying face-down and covering their heads with their hands.

From Rabbi Yosef to Marx

October 21st, 2010

Gilad Atzmon

In case the Goyim cannot find a purpose in their life, Israeli senior Sephardi Rabbi Ovadia Yosef is there to help them out. In his Saturday sermon Rabbi Yosef revealed that the sole purpose of Gentiles is to serve Jews.
“Goyim were born only to serve us. Without that, they have no place in the world.” The Rabbi was also kind enough to provide the Goyim with some precise tasks. “Why are gentiles needed? They will work, they will plow, they will reap. We will sit like an effendi and eat.
That is why gentiles were created.”

I guess that it is about time the friends of Israel in Western politics started to fully comprehend their role in our Judified universe -- AIPAC and the Conservatives’ Friends of Israel do indeed, have a crucial function : They are there to ‘help’ our politicians grasp why they ‘were created’.

AMERICAN DUMB, WHEN “STUPID” BECOMES DANGEROUS

October 20th, 2010

by Gordon Duff

STUPIDITY, ONE THING ALL AMERICANS AGREE ON, BUT WHO IS REALLY STUPID?

“hopelessness, fear and hate and a case of world class “stupid” has made the world’s greatest military power, not only a threat to world stability but an outright embarrassment”

The French think Americans are stupid. The French think everyone is stupid. However, when the French changed from the Franc to the Euro, watching them taking change out of their pockets, looking at the new coins, it was as though they had a live scorpion in their hands. One of the things I always say about the French, “they are the only country with nuclear weapons that never invented the wheel.” Now half the Americans I know want to live there and most talk about moving anywhere, anywhere but America. Americans say they can’t stand living here anymore, the country with the cheapest food and gasoline, clearly the best television and definitely the the best looking women.

Lessons from History to Guide AntiFascist Voters, What Can Happen if We the People Let Down our Guard and Vote for Our Future Oppressors

October 20th, 2010

by Gary Kohls

Excerpts, without comment, from Milton Mayer’s “They Thought They Were Free: The Germans, 1933-45

"What no one seemed to notice was the ever widening gap, after 1933, between the government and the people. You know, it doesn’t make people close to their government to be told that this is a people’s government, a true democracy.

"What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people to being governed by surprise; to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or was so dangerous that, even if the people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

"This separation of government from people, this widening of the gap, took place so gradually and so insensibly, each step disguised (perhaps not even intentionally) as a temporary emergency measure or associated with true patriotic allegiance or with real social purposes. And all the crises and reforms so occupied the people that they did not see the slow motion underneath, of the whole process of government growing remoter and remoter.

Israel's Longstanding Middle East Plan

October 20th, 2010

by Stephen Lendman

In 1982, Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs senior advisor Oded Yinon published a revealing document for regional conquest and dominance. Still relevant today, it's titled "A Strategy for Israel in the 1980s, translated, edited, and retitled "The Zionist Plan for the Middle East" by distinguished Professor Israel Shahak (1933 - 2001), longtime activist, analyst, and outspoken Israeli critic.

Its publisher, the Association of Arab-American University Graduates called it "the most explicit, detailed and unambiguous statement to date of the Zionist strategy in the Middle East....Its importance....lies not in its historical value but in the nightmare which it represents," what thereafter continued to unfold.

How Voting Perpetuates Evil

October 20th, 2010

Joel S. Hirschhorn

For many years Americans have justified voting for candidates they were not especially thrilled with by convincing themselves that the lesser evil deserved to win office. The fraction of people totally committed to one of the two major parties is small. Most Americans see themselves as independents, liberals, conservatives, progressives or libertarians, but not as loyal Democrats or Republicans. Most Americans are fed up with both major parties, not just incumbents.

But this year’s midterm elections will once again result in only Democratic or Republican candidates winning. Other than staying home and not voting, nearly all voters will employ the lesser-evil justification. Just one problem: That lesser-evil strategy has resulted in the dismal state of the nation that angers most Americans.

The only logical conclusion is that lesser-evil voting perpetuates all the cancerous evil plaguing the political system. This should not surprise anyone. Regardless of party affiliation, major party candidates convincingly lie to voters and the tons of money poured into politics create a mass propaganda machine from both parties that deceives voters.

FROM SCALA TO WEMBLEY

October 20th, 2010

By Gilad Atzmon

London Jazza festival is behind us. It was stressful and we took a massive risk, but it turned into a great success. For some of us, it was the most musically meaningful event we have ever participated in.

It occurred to me a while back that as far as Palestinian affairs are concerned, the tide has indeed changed -- The struggle of the Palestinian people has now become a part of a Western collective conscience. We are a mass movement becoming increasingly aware of itself. At our last week's first Jazza Festival, leading artists of all genres united together with an audience from all walks of life to side with the Palestinians. In the Scala London, we stood together, protesting against Israeli brutality. Funds were raised for the Free Palestine Movement, an organization that challenges many aspects of the occupation, and will soon bring the all important question of the 'Right of Return' right to the heart of Tel Aviv.

Why is the world rushing headlong into Environmental Armageddon?

October 19th, 2010

Link: http://environmentalarmageddon.wordpress.com/2010/10/17/why-is-the-world-awash-in-environmental-armageddon/

By Dr. Tom Termotto

Is there any doubt that planet Earth has been undergoing an environmental armageddon for decades? We are not just referring to the spate of oil spills all over the world such as the BP Gulf Oil Spill, or the many other toxic deluges which go unreported unlike the Hungary Toxic Sludge Disaster, or the ongoing destruction of the world’s rainforests like those being systematically wiped out in the Amazon Basin. We are also alluding to the “unseen” worldwide chemical apocalypse, the global proliferation of ellectro-pollution (EMR), the major uptick in manmade geopathic stress events on both the micro and macro levels, as well as the relentless contamination of living environments throughout the planet with radioactivity.

There are many other forms of ecological apocalypse taking place which, when viewed in the aggregate, are taking an immense toll on human, animal and plant life. Many of these ongoing assaults against the biosphere have unforeseen and collective ramifications which are extremely far-reaching and of great consequence to the viability of the planet. We ignore them at our peril, and will continue to suffer from a plague of alphabet soup diseases, multi-infection syndromes and infectious disease epidemics which have exploded on the healthcare landscape during the 21st century.
