MUST SEE! On Sept. 23, 2008, five military veterans occupied a 35-foot-high ledge in front of the National Archives Building in Washington, D.C. At the site, they unfolded a 22X8 foot banner. It read: “Defend our Constitution: Arrest Bush and Cheney: War Criminals.” The demonstration was sponsored by the Veterans for Peace, a national organization. Pelosi Won't Touch Impeachment

On the evening of Sept. 23, 2008, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi gave a talk, in Baltimore, MD, at the Central Pratt Library. It focused on her new book, “Know Your Power.” During the Q&A period, she was confronted about the issue of impeachment. The question was: “Why don’t you initiate the impeachment of President Bush?” Her response to the query was very long winded. She said impeachment proceedings would play into the hands of the Republican Caucus in the House. Speaker Pelosi added: “[President Bush’s] days in the White House are drawing to a close.” The bottom line is that Speaker Pelosi has no intention of putting impeachment on the table.

Yes of course, forget about the integrity of America’s system of laws, forget about the international laws Bush has broken. Forget about the harm that letting Bush get away with violating the Geneva conventions will do to America’s standing as a so called democracy. It doesn’t matter if the world is threatened by the next American military industrial banking regime that attacks other countries preemptively and profits from war. Yes, forget about the Bush regime’s war crimes, the torture rapes of women and children in the many prisons in Iraq. It would be bad for America if Bush were impeached says Pelosi, or would it be worse for Israel?

What could be more important for America and the world than putting the notoriously corrupt mass murderer Bush, and the entire corrupt profit, war, death driven system Bush represents on trial? Markets in New York were rocked again on Wednesday as anxieties about the financial system ran high after the government's bailout of insurer American International Group left investors with little confidence in many banking stocks. The Dow Jones industrial average nosedived about 450 points, down more than 800 points or 7 percent so far this week. The market was more unnerved than comforted by news that the Federal Reserve is giving a two-year, 85 billion dollar loan to AIG in exchange for a nearly 79.9 percent stake in the company, which lost billions in the risky business of insuring against bond defaults. Five activists protesting the injustice of the “Cuban Five” case, on Sept. 12, 2008, were arrested, around noon today, outside the White House. When the police ordered them not to cross a “police line,” set up arbitrarily on the sidewalk, they refused to comply in an act of civil disobedience. Prior to the arrests, a rally was held on the street, (just north of the White House). It was sponsored by the “National Committee to Free the Cuban Five.” When the rally ended, the demonstrators walked over to the White House gate and attempted to deliver Petitions containing over 102,000 signatures, from 78 countries, to President George W. And a lot was made of the fact that she rejected 233 million dollars in Congressional funds for a bridge from Ketchikan, Alaska to an airport on Gravina Island. John McCain reiterated the point on FOX News Sunday with Chris Wallace. But during the Alaskan Gubernatorial campaign in 2006 the Anchorage Daily News reported that she was in favor of the bridge: On October 20, 2006, the Associated Press reported that "Republican Sarah Palin's spokesman, Curtis Smith, said Palin supports the Ketchikan bridge project." Reuters reported that Ketchikan Mayor Bob Weinstein, a Democrat, and Mike Elerding, her Republican campaign coordinator in the area, said that she was insulted by the term “bridge to nowhere”. The 233 million dollars had been earmarked specifically for the bridge by congress in 2005. In August 2007 after political pressure over pork barrel projects brought national attention to the so-called “bridge to nowhere”, Congress removed the stipulation - that the money be used for the bridge to the airport, but gave the money to the state anyway, to use in whatever way they wanted. therealnews.com

ABC Reporter Arrested in Denver Taking Pictures of Senators, Big Donors

Police in Denver arrested an ABC News producer today as he and a camera crew were attempting to take pictures on a public sidewalk of Democratic senators and VIP donors leaving a private meeting at the Brown Palace Hotel. Asa Eslocker was investigating the role of lobbyists and top donors at the DNC. Police on the scene refused to tell ABC lawyers the charges against the producer, Asa Eslocker, who works with the ABC News investigative unit. The sheriff's officer is seen telling Eslocker the sidewalk is owned by the hotel. Later, he is seen pushing Eslocker off the sidewalk into oncoming traffic, forcing him to the other side of the street. It was two hours later when Denver police arrived to place Eslocker under arrest, apparently based on a complaint from the Brown Palace Hotel, a central location for Democratic officials. During the arrest, one of the officers can be heard saying to Eslocker, "You're lucky I didn't knock the fuck out of you." The Bush regime’s Patriot Act has removed freedom of speech and freedom of assembly in America and the people don’t yet realize they no longer have these Constitution rights. Now when Americans try to exercise their Constitutional right to assemble and speak out they are sometimes beaten or electrocuted to the ground and arrested. This is happening because the majority of Americans will not stand up for their freedom and have accepted fascism and repression. According to the polls, the people seem to want war and are glad their government attacks other countries and kills hundreds of thousands or millions of innocent people. When Kucinich and Paul tried to speak out for peace and ending the Iraq war, restoring human rights and constitutional rights, it proved to be unpopular with Americans, according to the polls, and the two unpopular patriots were soon swept from the election process. Obama realized that speaking out for peace and withdrawing soldiers from Iraq is very unpopular with certain people. Obama changed his tune and started talking about sending more troops to Afghanistan and keeping a permanent military force In Iraq. Only then did he seem to receive more support, but he has never really caught up with McCain, according to the polls. McCain will appear to win the selection, if it isn’t cancelled, because he has understood from the beginning what the American people really want? They believe that the American people have been molded into homicidal psychotics by a lifetime of brain washing by their corporate media. They want us to think: Even if Obama were to actively promote fighting a 'never ending war' or a nuclear war with Russia, he can’t catch up with McCain. We, the American people, are more confidant that McCain will deliver the unending war and mass death that we (they) truly desire. "More bad news for Sen. Barack Obama's campaign on the polling front.
