To Obama's hard core sleepy followers, I suppose this was a great inspiring speech. The setting intensified the illusion. Others of us may have taken note of some of the more blatant lies.
O. "...I argued for more resources and more troops to finish the fight against the terrorists who actually attacked us on 9/11, and made clear that we must take out Osama bin Laden and his lieutenants if we have them in our sights. You know, John McCain likes to say that he'll follow bin Laden to the gates of Hell, but he won't even follow him to the cave where he lives."
Well, Obama is not stupid. He knows which terrorists attacked us and they didn't come from Afghanistan. Instead of taking out bin Laden, he should have said "digging up Osama", if they could find his long dead rotting corpse. Continuing this bin Laden/al qaeda scare scam is so old school Bush.
O. "...I stood up and opposed this war, knowing that it would distract us from the real threats that we face."
Just what have you done to end the illegal wars since you 'stood up'? They are still being funded. Haven't seen much of a fight from you besides the empty words. The real threats? How about those that threaten the constitution and what about your oath to defend against all enemies including those that are internal? It seems that you are part of the internal threat.
O. "...You don't defeat -- you don't defeat a terrorist network that operates in 80 countries by occupying Iraq.
Would not that include our own terrorist network of the CIA, Mossad and MI6. They operate in at least 80 countries.
O. "...The -- the reality of gun ownership may be different for hunters in rural Ohio than they are for those plagued by gang violence in Cleveland, but don't tell me we can't uphold the Second Amendment while keeping AK-47s out of the hands of criminals."
Sounds good on the surface but adding that caveat about a rifle should concern those who take a little harder stand on the importance of the 2nd amendment.
O. "...because if you don't have any fresh ideas, then you use stale tactics to scare voters"
It seems like this is exactly what he is doing. I'm still looking for some more definitive clarifications of his policies of "change".
O. "...When Washington doesn't work, all its promises seem empty."
At least he got this one right. We still need more specifics on this "hope" rhetoric.
O. "...You understand that, in this election, the greatest risk we can take is to try the same, old politics with the same, old players and expect a different result."
Old players? Like your 'adviser' Brzezinski? Biden has been around for a while and his ideas are, well, old.
We could go on and on but you get the picture. Next week we get to see the flip side of the same coin and the continuing fraud of our criminal two party system.
Our future is in trouble and we can't see for the bright lights.
