Horrific Experiences

Najwa Sheikh in Gaza

"Huda Ghaliya whom the whole world watched her running, screaming
hysterically on the beach looking for her dead father."

It is always difficult to accept the loss of someone dear, even if the death was caused by a normal reason; we always imagine that those whom we love will be for ever in our lives, they will be there for us whenever we need them, but it seems that this fact also is not true, and that every one of us will experience the loss of someone dear.

God gives us the a bless that help us overcome our pain and loss, it is forgetting the painful event when loosing somebody, and the ability to continue in our life, but I assume that it is always easy to forget a traumatic event when this event happens normally, like the death of someone dear as a result of the age, or even being sick. Those who around you from your family and friends help you to continue and give the support you need to step over this event and get out of the best of it, the good common memories that you have to share with a brother, a friend, or even a relative about the dead one.

However, the tragic stories of my people who live in Gaza prove that it is always different, a history that is beyond the imagination of human mind, and beyond any capacity of human to hold. The last operation of the Israelis in Buraij camp against Al Fayed family have awaken unhealed wound for many Gazan families who passed the same evil experience, the death of a complete family, like it is the Israelis willingness to uproot a whole generation of the same family from earth. The last hit in Buraij camp left two brothers from the same family not only taste the bitterness of the event, but also to live with their own tragedy of loosing the source of security and their source of love and comfort; their parents in addition to a brother and sister died in this operation, can you imagine their feelings, can you hold such pain, can you figure out a way to compensate their loss, or can you even hold your magic stick to turn the time back, and erase the last horrific moments that will stick in their minds for ever.?

I am helplessly trying to pray for these two boys to b able to experience happiness ever after in their life even though I doubt that they have any feelings left except bitterness, great hatred, and eagerness to have revenge….

I wonder who will comfort them if they lost the source of comfort, with whom they will share their memories if they lost the brothers and sisters?

Many other examples show the uprooting policy that Israel follow against us in Gaza, Huda Ghaliya whom the whole world watched her running, screaming hysterically on the beach looking for her dead father. The appalling act of mass murder committed against Al Athamneh family in Beit Hanoun where 18 civilians were killed, seven of whom are children and six of whom are women. Abu Selmya family who lost both parents along with four of their siblings. The list is too long to be mentioned, but the pain and hatred continued from one generation to another, memorizing the painful event, holding the unhealed wound, and carrying the memories of a once called family, I am as well as the world have to be questioned about the left members of these families abilities to continue, to forget, and to forgive. About their horrific memories that will accompany them in their wakens, in their dreams, in every
