THE SECRET COVENANT

Anonymous

(The following text is floating around on the Internet and is a real nasty piece of work. --Hideous thoughts and words! There probably is not much truth in them. However, the evil agenda expressed in this short text gives us some pause for thought, because it would appear that powerful people in the world today are acting in accordance with it to some extent. We are not sure what to make of it and have no definite opinion for or against. This text may be scary to some. Be warned! -Eds.)

Israel's Dirty Little Secret - Slavery

Genevieve Cora Fraser

Three months ago, on Thursday, March 30, 2006, the Israeli High Court struck down Israel's slavery law that had been on the books since 1952. According to the Israeli Human Rights organization Kav LaOved, "The view of migrant workers in Israel as the employers' property is reflected above all (in) the "binding arrangement" which makes the worker the employer's slave."

The Republic Crashes Down

Wolfram Grätz

Yesterday the New York Times had an editorial attacking the growing tyranny of the Bush administration called " Rushing Off a Cliff."

"Here's what happens when this irresponsible Congress railroads a profoundly important bill to serve the mindless politics of a midterm election: The Bush administration uses Republicans' fear of losing their majority to push through ghastly ideas about antiterrorism that will make American troops less safe and do lasting damage to our 217-year-old nation of laws - while actually doing nothing to protect the nation from terrorists. Democrats betray their principles to avoid last-minute attack ads. Our democracy is the big loser."

Challenging the Power of the Jewish Lobby: What Should Be Done?

James Petras

Karen © Spector

A number of writers have recently written critical articles or reviews about the power of the pro-Israel or Jewish Lobby and its influence on US policy in the Middle East. Most of these writings emphasize the power of the lobby over Congress, the two major parties (especially the Democrats) and the Executive branch. Some even describe the pro-Israel lobbies and the allied Jewish federations, the numerous propaganda institutes described as "think tanks," publications as well as their influence or control over the mass media, from Hollywood, the print media, television to corporate "public" radio. However these critics and analysts paint themselves into a corner, attributing to the Jewish lobby so much power as to virtually incapacitate any effort to counter its influence and change the direction onus policy. The image of a near-omniscient and omnipotent Jewish lobby overlooks its vulnerability and significant issues around which an opposition or counter-hegemonic movement can be organized in the United States.

Through the Looking Glass

Vindix

"Darkness will be preferred to light, and death will be preferred to life,

No one will gaze into heaven.

And the pious man will be counted as insane, and the impious man will be honored as wise

The man who is afraid will be considered as strong.

And the good man will be punished as a criminal"

I am including this excerpt from the "Hermetic Dialogue between Hermes and Aesklepios", written in the fourth century, as a way to illustrate for our Muslim friends and readers some of the conditions which prevail in my land, as well as mentioning a few of the arguments being used by those who are behind the assaults undertaken against the Muslim lands and peoples. I am inclined to believe that the author of the above excerpt had a prophetic vision of the times we are now experiencing.

We hate to sound apocalyptic. We loathe the politics of fear (even if it works!). So we're not looking to scare you. But you need to know that the end is near for "archaic" ideas like . . .

* the right to security in your home and papers
* the right to be free from unreasonable searches
* the safety net of judicial warrant requirements
* the right to a trial by a jury of your peers in a system of due process

The pathology of American culture is as ubiquitous as its strip-mall ugliness. It is abundantly evident, in almost every aspect of contemporary life. From the predatory (to the point of psychopathic) practices of its morally scurvy pirates at the helm of the corporate/governmental ship of state, down to the pandemic enervation and proliferate anomie of its galley slaves languishing in their soulless cubicles -- from the genitalia-devoid mascots at Disney World to the genitalia-obsessed torturers of Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo -- the soul-sickness spreads before us like George W. Iran¹s Foreign Minister, Manouchehr Mottaki (Interview)

Kaveh L. Afrasiabi

In this exclusive interview, Iran's foreign minister, Monouchehr Mottaki, speaks frankly about Iran's foreign policy priorities, strategic partners, and regional security concerns. He reaffirms Iran's role in working for the security of the entire Persian Gulf, and dismisses the possibility of a U.S. attack on Iran.

Kaveh Afrasiabi: What are the main foreign policy priorities of Iran today?

Foreign Minister M. Mottaki: Our priority is to protect our rights and interests. We are also concerned with the lack of justice and spirituality in the current international system. Sixty years after the establishment of the United Nations, we are still confronted with a great deal of injustice, with some powers playing big brother. This is the reason for unilateralism today, which is no longer acceptable by most of the world community supporting multilateralism. The absence of spirituality has translated into power without responsibility, that is, every party trying to acquire power without a sense of responsibility to the human beings and members of the international community. This lack of justice and spiritual standards has translated into various crises around the world. If you look at the recent war in Lebanon, you will find a glaring example of this unjust approach, with some parties preventing an immediate cease fire and supporting the aggression of the Zionist regime.

The return of Palestinian refugees is an existential necessity for Israeli Jews

Elias Davidsson

In order to maintain the cohesion of Israeli Jewish society against the spectre of a "warm peace" with its neighbours, the Zionist state must maintain distrust among Jews towards the Arab nation, emphasize the "European" identity of their state (as distinct from the surrounding "barbarian" states) and engage in provocations whenever the "threat" emerges that a peace may ensue. For this reason, the Zionist state is, by its very nature, a permanent threat to its environment.

It is often assumed that a massive return of Palestinian refugees to locations within the State of Israel - in accordance with international law and human rights - would be contrary to the interests of Israeli Jews and may endanger their physical existence. It cannot be denied that a massive return would significantly change the demographic composition of the population. There is, however, no particular reason to believe that such a return would physically endanger Israeli Jews, if the consequent population movement is properly organized in order to ensure the availability of housing and work opportunities.

"Thank you for not putting a bomb in your luggage."

President Bush said "the United States is still under the threat of attack and will continue to be right up until Election Day." -- Jay Leno

Hand-in-hand with his threat warnings, Bush keeps telling us how his War on Terror has made us so much safer, bragging that there hasn't been a terrorist attack in the United States in the five years since the one of September 11, 2001. Marvelous. There wasn't a terrorist attack in the United States in the five years before that day either. But thanks to the War on Terror -- particularly the bombing, invasion, occupation, and torture of Afghanistan and Iraq -- numerous new anti-American terrorists have been created since that historic day. The latest confirmation of this, if any more were needed, is the recently leaked National Intelligence Estimate conclusion that "the American invasion and occupation of Iraq has helped spawn a new generation of Islamic radicalism and ... the overall terrorist threat has grown since the Sept. 11 attacks."[1]

Who else can so malign and eviscerate this once great nation with people having a strong nexus to the Judeo-Christian ethic and heritage? Who else could have their hands in 9-11, setting up our own troops for WMD attack on the border of North Kuwait, permit the abuse, torture and murders at Abu Ghraib and wantonly, knowingly and willingly be involved with reckless malfeasance in the deaths and injuries to countless innocents and children? Who else would separate us from G-d, who would give us the Patriot Act to predicate a police state, build empty prisons, train police and troops to confront our own people, open borders, export jobs, dilute education, victimize our children, except those who take glee in seeing millions of Americans wait on line to cast a meaningless vote.

Hugo Chavez's New World Vision

Stephen Lendman

After agreeing to supply discounted oil to the richest city in Europe - London - to help its low income residents use the city's buses at a reduced cost after earlier providing discounted heating oil for the poor in several northeastern US cities including its richest one - New York, Hugo Chavez is at it again. This time he offered to aid the US oil and cash-rich state of Alaska by providing an even greater benefit - free or subsidized heating oil. In the richest, most powerful country in the world, federal, state and local governments continue to provide fewer essential services to their citizens most in need like helping them stay warm in winter when they can't afford to do it on their own. The result is many of them don't and some die as a result.

A Catholic Stamp to an U.S. War

Nicola Nasser

No mistake, the Successor of Saint Peter, the Vicar of Christ on Earth, the Sovereign Pontiff, Pope Benedict XVI has erred and the damage is done: His anti-Islam remarks are out and cannot be retracted, like bullets that cannot be retrieved once shot, adding a Catholic stamp to the Evangelist “Islam versus the West” justification for the U.S. neoconservative–led “WWIII on Islam.” (1)

Iranian President Sounds More Like a Pope than Benedict XVI

Joanna Francis

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad spoke these words before the United Nations:

“Today, humanity passionately craves commitment to the Truth, devotion to God, quest for Justice and respect for the dignity of human beings. Rejection of domination and aggression, defense of the oppressed, and longing for peace, constitute the legitimate demand of the peoples of the world; particularly the new generations and the spirited youth, who aspire a world free from decadence, aggression and injustice, and replete with love and compassion. The youth have a right to seek justice and the Truth; and they have a right to build their own future on the foundations of love, compassion and tranquility. And I praise the Almighty for this immense blessing.”

Those are truly Catholic sentiments. You’d think the Pope had spoken them, but you’d be wrong. A man who is not under the control of the Jews spoke these beautiful words.

Like Taking Candy from a Baby

As natural as the end of summer giving way to cooler temperatures and the changing colors of the trees, the vast machinations of the military-energy industrial complex has yet again begun to spin in preparation for the upcoming midterm elections, using the myriad number of tools at its disposal to manipulate the electorate into once more voting against its own interests, into voting for the interests of the elite few. Knowing the absolute ignorance, gullibility and lack of critical thinking of the American masses, those in power are able, once more, in what has become all too familiar throughout the annals of history, to skew the decision, mentality and vote of large segments of the population by simply reaching to the primitive instincts of human nature and manipulating emotions, psychology and the instinct of survival prevalent in every living organism.

I am finally convinced that a huge percentage of the American people are the worst hypocrites imaginable – considering the fact that some 80% of us claim to be “Christians”. Imperialism 101 - The US Addiction to War, Mayhem and Madness - Part II

Stephen Lendman

Part I of this article explained that the US was always a warrior, imperial nation, building it in steps and addicted to its madness. First we took it from its original inhabitants; then we expanded it beyond our borders by seizing the half of Mexico we wanted; later we established colonies abroad; and now, our method of choice is to rule the world through compliant leaders in client states everywhere serving our interests. We began doing it gradually following WW II when we emerged as the only dominant nation left standing, unchallengeable as the world's only economic, political and military superpower. Even before the war ended, we planned to take full advantage of that indomitable status once it did. We pursued it throughout the "cold war" and in the 1990s when it was over. Then came 9/11, the gloves came off in the Bush administration, and top officials in it ended any pretense of what our real aims are. The rest, as they say, is history, and the nations we target in our quest for world dominance and our own people at home pay a dreadful price. Below is a case study of our imperial madness in Iraq documenting how painful that price is.

“It is hard to believe, but only 60 years after the Holocaust the Jewish people is once again in danger of being destroyed - at least in its own state, where 40 percent of the world's Jews are concentrated. Evidence of the severity of the danger can be found not only in the explicit threats by Iran's president, which are backed up by an arms program that would provide the means to carry them out. It can also be found in recent articles in the European press that discuss the possibility of Israel's 'disappearance' as a reasonable 'working assumption.' Additional evidence regarding the threat level exists in the fact that not only is Israel the only country in the world that is threatened with destruction, it is also the only state whose right to exist is the focus of international polls, with many respondents answering negatively. That is an honor that even Iran, North Korea and apartheid-era South Africa were never granted.” (Yair Sheleg. Haaretz)

At present, Forty-six percent of the American people hold the delusion that Saddam Hussein was involved in the planning and execution of the terrorist attacks of 9/11/2001.

What are the cultural circumstances that allow such mass deceptions to be perpetrated with seeming impunity? Will our destinies, both individual and collective, continue to be determined by these pervasive deceits --- these pernicious narratives, concocted by cadres of elitist fabulists, perpetuated with the intention of frightening and distracting that portion of our population comprised of gullible, anxious, over-sized, over-aged, dim children?

Jason Miller

United States Constitution
United States Bill of Rights

Remember the archaic notion that freedom of speech and peaceable assembly are guaranteed by a document the Bush Regime is rendering as “quaint” as the Geneva Conventions?

Here is a reminder:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Israel will be responsible for the next 9/11

Khalid Amayreh

Israel ’s ongoing crimes against the Lebanese and Palestinian peoples have apparently replenished the huge reservoir of anti-Americanism throughout the Muslim world.

Arab and Muslim masses from Morocco to Indonesia are feeling, quite justifiably, that America is the enabler of Israeli criminality which has claimed additional hundreds of fresh victims, including numerous children annihilated with their families by American-supplied bombs and missiles.

The US government not only gave Israel the military tools to commit genocidal crimes in Gaza and Lebanon but also provided the political-diplomatic cover which allowed Israel to perpetrate these crimes with impunity.

A Most UnGenerous Offer

Jeff Halper

B'Tselem © Reuters

Consider a prison:

If you look at a blueprint of a prison, it looks like the prisoners own the place. They have 95 percent of the territory. The prisoners have the living areas. They have the cafeteria, the visiting area, the exercise yard. All the prison authorities have is 5 percent: the surrounding walls, the cell bars, a few points of control, the keys to the door. The prison authorities do not need 20 or 30 percent of the territory to control the inmates. They only need to control the strategic points.

Why I hate America

Khalid Amayreh

I would be dishonest if I said I didn't hate the American government. I
do hate it, so really, so deeply and, yes, so rightly.

America is the tormentor of my people. It is to me, as a Palestinian,
what Nazi Germany was to the Jews. America is the powerful devil
that spreads oppression and death in my neighborhood. How can I not hate
this "great Satan," the evil empire? Does anyone expect people to love
their tormentors and child-killers? America has been, and continues to be, the sponsor, enabler, protector, and justifier of my people's misery for the last sixty years.

Netanyahu Beats Drum for U.S. War with Iran

William Hughes

“Bibi (Benjamin Netanyahu) wants to destroy everything for his own personal interests.” - Ehud Olmert, Israel’s P.M. (1)

Philadelphia, PA - On the early evening of September 6, 2006, Benjamin Netanyahu, ex-Israeli Prime Minister (1996-99), and presently the Likud Party boss and a member of the Knesset, showed up in the “City of Brotherly Love.” He was there to beat the drum for a U.S. war with Iran. How lethally ironic!

Rage of the Elephant: Israel in Lebanon

Ronnie Kasrils

Israel is like the elephants of the Kruger National Park, observed Ariel Sharon’s former spokesman, on a recent visit to South Africa. Ra’anan Gissin was speaking as guest of the country’s Zionist Federation: “We just want to be left alone,” he pleaded, “We seem docile but if you wound us we can go crazy because we are an endangered species”.

As the world has seen, Lebanon - half Israel’s size - has just experienced the wrath of the behemoth: its people, capital, towns, villages, highways, bridges, power and water utilities ground into the dust.

Text of Mayor Anderson's speech

Mayor Ross C. "Rocky" Anderson

A patriot is a person who loves his or her country. Who among you loves your country so much that you have come here today to raise your voice out of deep concern for our nation — and our world? And who among you loves your country so much that you insist that our nation's leaders tell us the truth? So let's hear it: "Give us the truth! Give us the truth! Give us the truth! Give us the truth! Give us the truth!" Because if we had had the truth, we wouldn't be here today.

LaRouche to Rumsfeld: FDR Defeated the Nazis, While the Bushes Collaborated

Lyndon LaRouche PAC

Hitler left, and Prescott S. Bush

Lyndon LaRouche responded forcefully and directly on Sept. 3 to Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld's recent insane accusations that Democrats who opposed the Bush Administration were "appeasers," like those who capitulated to Hitler in the 1930s. Rumsfeld delivered two speeches and penned a Los Angeles Times op-ed during the week of Aug. 28-Sept. 3, repeating the "appeasement" charges, and then sent a letter to Congressional Democrats, ostensibly retracting his remarks, but, in fact, reiterating the same charges.

The Israeli occupation, not Islam, is the problem

Khalid Amayreh

Thank you Nancy @ Um Khalil!

In numerous interviews with western news networks recently, former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu sought to incite western societies against Islam and Muslims. Netanyahu, a master of sound bites but an utterly poor politician, claimed that Israel was at the forefront of a conflict of civilizations between “fanatical Islam” and the “ democratic and civilized West.”

The vindictiveness and venomousness of his tone, not to mention the utter mendacity of his message, may well be compared to Hitler’s instigation against Jews and other non-Aryan communities in Europe prior to and during the Second World War.

Why I am a Terrorist

Charles Sullivan

Everywhere you go in America you see the slogan, “Support our troops.” You see it on bumper stickers, storefronts, flags and banners, yellow ribbons and even in the windows of private homes. But what does it mean to support our troops? Is it to send them into harm’s way; to invade and occupy sovereign nations in illegal wars for empire? Is it to ask them to commit heinous crimes, to maim and kill innocent civilians; to torture, insult, and to humiliate people who have done us no harm? Is it to steal the natural wealth that belongs to other nations and turn it over to American corporations?

Fighting the Terrorists Here

Larry Sakin

A new ABC-Ipsos poll released today shows that a third of Americans fear another terrorist attack will occur in the United States. This fear is understandable, considering the constant reminder from the Bush Administration that the United States must … “fight terrorism in Iraq and Afghanistan so we don’t have to fight them here.” But what the president fails to mention is that terrorism is already doing a great deal of damage throughout the country and the terrorists are not who we think.

Israel Lobby Takes a Few Hard Hits

William Hughes

"His Master's Voice"

President George W. Bush’s reply to a reporter’s question about whether Iraq had anything to do with 9/11: "Nothing!"

On two consecutive days this week, the Israel Lobby, aka “The Lobby,” took direct hits from opponents. On Monday, Aug. 28, 2006, two distinguished scholars, authors of the “Harvard Study,” Professors John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt, showed up at the National Press Club, near the White House. The Professors, who are both Jewish, ably demonstrated how the Lobby used its enormous influence, with the U.S. Congress and the Bush-Cheney Gang, to help give the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) a “green light” to bomb Lebanon back to the Stone Age during the recent, horrific 33-day war.
