Garett Reppenhagen: "Bring the Troops Home, Now!"


Garett Reppenhagen was one of the speakers, on July 17, 2007, at a rally held in the Upper Senate Park, opposite the U.S. Capitol, in Washington, D.C. Rev. Reppenhagen is with the Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW) organization. He was a member of the U.S. Army, during his tour of duty in Iraq. The purpose of the event was to kick off the "Funding the War is Killing the Troops" campaign. After the rally, IVAW members planned to deliver American flags to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC). Prior to the rally, an American flag was delivered on the grounds of the U.S. Capitol by IVAW members to Terry Lierman, chief of staff to the House Majority Leader, Rep. Steney Hoyer (D-MD).
