Reps. Kucinich & Waters: "Impeach Cheney" Part 2 of 2

Reps. Dennis J. Kucinich (D-OH) and Maxine Waters (D-CA), at a press conference, on Capitol Hill, on June 13, 2007, renewed their call, via HR 333, for the House of Representatives to impeach V. P. Dick Cheney for committing “high crimes and misdemeanors.” Rep. Kucinich said that the V. P. must be held accountable for his “false claims” that got us into the Iraqi War. Rep. Waters called Cheney one of the “main architects of the war in Iraq,” and a man who continues to... “mislead the American public.” She added: “He continues to weave a web of lies...and to misdirect this country...He is the poster child for what is wrong with this administration.” There are currently six cosponsored of HR 333, in addition to Reps. Kucinich and Waters, they are: Lynn Woolsey (D-CA); Barbara Lee (D-CA); Yyette Clark (D-NY); Jan Schakowsky (D-IL); William Lacy Clay (D-M0) and Al Wynn (D-MD). Under the U.S. Constitution, the role of the House of Representatives in an impeachment inquiry is to act as a Grand Jury. If it finds that there is probable cause to impeach V. P. Cheney, then it would have a duty to do so. The Senate would then sit in judgment on the Vice President.
