The following is the official farewell ceremony and funeral procession tomorrow, Wednesday 13 August, in Ramallah for the great poet Mahmoud Darwish: The arrival of the body to Marka-Amman Airport on Wednesday, August 13, 2008, at 10:00am where an official ceremony will take place in Amman; Arrival of the body around midday on Wednesday from Jordan to the Muqata in Ramallah for official reception of the body; Official ceremony to take place in the Muqata with President Abbas and the political leadership , national forces and the Islamic and Christian religious leaders and members of the Arab and foreign diplomatic corps. The body will be laid in the Muqata for a farewell tribute during which the president will deliver a speech to be followed by a speech from Mahmoud’s family; then a speech by Samih al-Qasem.
