[T]he Barbican Arts Centre's show Homeland Lost, consisting of 16 black and white images taken by the photojournalist Alan Gignoux soon after Israel gained independence, is the unlikely frontier of new hostilities between Britain's Israeli and Arab communities. Jonathan Hoffman, of the Jewish umbrella group the Zionist Federation, has complained to the London arts venue's director Nicholas Kenyon about captions accompanying the photos, which state that the 800,000 Palestinians who left their homes were "uprooted" and "dispossessed". He accused the Barbican of "falsifying" history. PALESTINE REMEMBERED + Al-Awda: The Palestinian Right of Return Coalition.

Who profits from the Iraq war? More than a quarter of senators and congressmen have invested at least $196 million of their own money in companies doing business with the Department of Defense (DoD) that profit from the death and destruction in Iraq. According to the latest reports, 151 members of Congress invested close to a quarter-billion in companies that received defense contracts of at least $5 million in 2006. These companies got more than $275.6 billion from the government in 2006, or $755 million per day, according to FedSpending.org, a website of the watchdog group OMBWatch.

There was a terrible winter disaster in Afghanistan. NATO paid little heed. The lives of Afghan people are untenable. Afghanistan is one of the 11 hunger-prone countries heading towards a "food emergency." The world food crisis has been caused by the World Bank, the IMF, the WTO, The Pentagon, PNACers and corporate sharks. Free Trade” is a misnomer and ‘globalisation’ does not work. Wheat and rice are becoming as precious and sought-after as oil. (cont. below) The famine in Afghanistan is mirrored by the famine within the US-NATO mindset. The White House and US-NATO suffer from a poverty of imagination. The recent NATO conference was a disaster for Afghanistan’s needs. Did any NATO members read the 17 reports on Afghanistan? NATO faffed around with money-making missile shield discussions and memberships. They passed a “three fold” “Strategic Vision.” The Guardian: US marines launch mini surge in Afghanistan.

On a rainy March morning, in a drab office complex off one of Metro Detroit's many expressways, I met Mona and Fadi Rabban. In broken English, they greeted me graciously, keeping their heads slightly bowed. The diminutive Fadi was dressed in black jeans and a beat-up leather jacket. His beautiful middle-aged wife donned a thin, black cardigan and black slacks, which seemed less suitable for the Midwest winter. Just six months earlier, the Rabbans had been in Jordan awaiting resettlement to the United States. Their arrival in America capped a journey that began in early 2006, when insurgents forced them to flee their Baghdad home.

Syria will not sever ties with Iran and Hezbollah even as part of a possible peace agreement with Israel, a senior Syrian analyst who is handling the government's contacts as it relates to the peace process said on Tuesday. "It would be naive to think Syria will neglect or abandon its strategic alliances that do not stem from the Arab-Israeli conflict," the analyst, Dr. Samir Taqi, said in an interview with Al-Manar television. Of course it would be naive! Israel doesn't want peace. It wants land. Lots of it -including parts of Syria as well! When asked why Syria elected to trumpet messages from Israel and relayed by Turkey of Jerusalem's willingness to cede the Golan Heights in exchange for peace, Taqi replied that the intent behind the media campaign was "to solidify the right" of Syria to the strategic plateau it lost as a result of the Six-Day War. As such, Taqi sought to emphasize that he is personally not involved in the recent developments, but is rather providing commentary on the matter. InfoWars: Did CIA ‘Photoshop’ Syrian military pics? It seems the Israel and its army is so desperate in Jennin, it started to arrest horses. You got me right. MAAN news agency showed pictures of members of the Israeli Defense Forces arresting 3 horses in Jennin for unknown reasons. That is not unusual for Israel and its army. Israel has gone beyond any sense of imaginations on doing what it does best. Murder and terrorism on national scales not seen since Nazi Germany and murderous Serbia in the Bosnia. In over 41 years of military and armed Jewish occupation, Israel have arrested and jailed more than 700,000 Palestinians at one time or another, almost one third of all of Arab resident were guests of the Israeli jail system. Of course the majority never brought to trial. Israel simply arrest them, try to enlist them as traitors and informers, at times arrest them and jail them because some Jewish Settlers want their homes or land, other times simply to humiliate and simply punish just for the hell of it.

It is 1939 all over again. The world waits helplessly for the next act of naked aggression by rogue states. Only this time the rogue states are not the Third Reich and Fascist Italy. They are the United States and Israel. The targeted victims are not Poland and France, but Iran, Syria, the remains of the Palestinian West Bank and southern Lebanon. The American mass media is overjoyed. War coverage attracts viewers and sells advertising. The neoconservatives are ecstatic. Hegemony uber alles is back on track. The US Air Force can't wait "to show what it can do." Defense contractors see no end of the profits. Under cover of the mayhem and propaganda, Israel can grab the remains of the West Bank and have another go at grabbing the water resources of southern Lebanon. Unlike the US and Israel, Iran is neither occupying any other country's territory nor threatening to invade another country. Nevertheless, propaganda against Iran is spouting from US and Israeli mouths at an increasing rate. Lie after lie rolls off the tongues of leaders of the "two great democracies."

In response to the numerous reports of molten metal under ground zero, defenders of the official version of 9/11 have tried to argue that it was not steel, but some other kind of metal with a lower melting point. Well, here are what top experts who eyewitnessed the molten metal say: The structural engineer responsible for the design of the WTC, described fires still burning and molten steel still running 21 days after the attacks (page 3) A retired professor of physics and atmospheric science said "in mid-October when they would pull out a steel beam, the lower part would be glowing dull red, which indicates a temperature on the order of 500 to 600 °C. And we know that people were turning over pieces of concrete in December that would flash into fire--which requires about 300 °C. So the surface of the pile cooled rather rapidly, but the bulk of the pile stayed hot all the way to December". [...] The fact that there was molten steel under ground zero for months after 9/11 is very odd, especially since firefighters sprayed millions of gallons of water on the fires and applied high-tech fire retardants.
