Is there a Story behind the Story of the Rise in Police Shootings?

March 16th, 2014

By Robert Singer

On the left is the blue Toyota Tacoma the two Hispanic women were driving which the police thought looked like a six foot tall African American driving a brown Nissan. On the right is a photo of a police shooting in Times Square.

I think by now it should be obvious to everyone that the police are shooting innocent people and getting away with it. The officers, whose names are rarely disclosed, are put on paid leave while the cities pay out millions of dollars in wrongful death lawsuits.

The US Department of Justice is looking into allegations of systematic harassment and profiling of minorities and low-income residents.

A report by the Police Commission Inspector General in July of 2012 was in response to an increase in the number of times “officers were discharging their weapons” at civilians. The report contradicted Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck’s assertion that the police were under attack by the public. The report was clear that there was no link between the jump in officer-involved shootings and assaults on officers; however, the commission did not offer any possible explanations for the increase in officer-involved shootings. I, of course, have an answer for the following two police shooting questions:

1. Why is the number of unjustified shootings of innocent civilians on the rise?
2. Why aren't the police using excessive force and shooting guilty criminals rather than innocent civilians?

I will be publishing the answers soon. In the interim, I am on the alert for more news on police killings of innocent citizens.

UNFILTERED NEWS from the Reality Zone compiled by G. Edward Griffin endeavors to give us the truth that the mainstream media is “filtering.” Ed’s factual weekly summaries are an antidote to “newspeak”.

In the February 19th edition of UNFILTERED NEWS from the Reality Zone compiled by G. Edward Griffin the following headline, summary and link got my attention:

Los Angeles Sheriff's Deputies raided the home of an 80 year-old man on an anonymous drug tip.

Los Angeles Sheriff's Deputies raided the home of an 80 year-old man on an anonymous drug tip [that the senior citizen was housing a methamphetamine lab on his residence]. They shot him to death and then changed their story about the shooting. The original report was that the man came toward police pointing a pistol at them, but investigators said that the man was in bed when he was killed. No methamphetamine or other unauthorized drugs were found. Reason Posted 2014 Feb 19

What Can the Dorner Saga Really Be About?

December 29th, 2013

By Robert Singer

A terrorist is a person who uses terrorism in the pursuit of political aims.

There is neither an academic nor an international legal consensus regarding the definition of the term "terrorism." Various legal systems and government agencies use different definitions of "terrorism." These difficulties arise from the fact that the term "terrorism" is politically and emotionally charged. [From Wikipedia]

According to the authorities, Christopher Jordan Dorner is a violent domestic terrorist.

Dorner, a former LAPD cop and honorably discharged Navy reservist, in February 2013 is accused of killing four people. The Police also claim Dorner is the author of numerous versions of a rage-filled "manifesto" where he vows to "bring unconventional and asymmetrical warfare to those in LAPD uniform whether on or off duty." Later Dorner is quoted in the LA Times: "I don't want to hurt you, I just want to clear my name." Does this sound like something a violent domestic terrorist would say?

What is the evidence that Dorner killed anyone?

  • A photo of .a 308 sniper rifle and a handgun that has not been connected to the murders.
  • Numerous versions of a manifesto written by someone with a 2nd amendment agenda rather than a policeman writing to expose police corruption and trying to clear his name.

Note there is absolutely no proof Dorner killed anyone.

According to the official story, at 9:10 P.M on February 3, 2013 a couple, walking through the upper floor (roof level) of the parking garage at 2100 Scholarship, Irvine CA, spotted a man and woman [Monica Quan and Keith Lawrence] slumped over inside a car that reportedly belonged to Keith Lawrence.

Here is what the public is expected to believe. In a million dollar neighborhood, in a racist area of the country, a large black man breaks into a secured garage and is allowed by a police officer (who theoretically knows he’s hostile) to walk up to the officer’s car under a bright light and shoot the officer and his girlfriend (also from a police background) while nobody hears any shots and then departs, going both in and out of the garage in front of a video camera. Of course, the police (who want us to believe this) have failed to release the video footage that would show they were right about it being Chris Dorner who did all this. What Really Happened to Monica Quan and Keith Lawrence By Ruth Hull

The largest manhunt since 9/11, involving the FBI, SWAT teams, over 10,000 officers, tightened Border Patrol (including checkpoints in Big Bear), drones, helicopters and aerial search teams with thermal imaging technology, finally barbecued their man in a cabin in Big Bear.

How do we know it was Dorner?

This Beat Down is for Your Health - the Money Party Must Stop Occupy Movements

November 14th, 2011

By Michael Collins

"The problems we are facing were not created by us, but we deign to shed light on them and so we are blamed for them. The truth is, every person at our protest is there because the system is broken." Samuel Rutledge, Open Newswire, Portland Indymedia

The fascist financiers of the Money Party are growing restless. Occupy Wall Street began with a call to action from the activist online group Anonymous in August. It was barely featured in the mainstream or alternate media. Instead of a small crowd that could easily be ignored then disbursed, fifty thousand citizens showed up at the headquarters for the world financial system, Wall Street. Despite the best efforts of Mayor Bloomberg and NYPD, the Occupy Wall Street continues. The message went out to the country and the world. Now, there are over 100 occupy events in Oakland, Kansas City, Washington, DC, and elsewhere. (Image: K. Kendall)

Occupy Portland began on October 6, 2011. It has maintained a steady presence in downtown Portland, a major West Coast center of commerce. The participants refuse to leave until the government addresses their grievances. Police scare tactics, planted provocateurs, and the elements are no barrier.

Colombia: Pillage, Promise and Peace

August 8th, 2011

James Petras

Invited paper to be presented to the “Encuentro Nacional de comunidades Campesinas, Afrodescendientes e Indigenas por la Tierra y la Paz de Colombia”

“El dialogo es la Ruta”

Barrancabermeja – Colombia

We live in a time of great destruction and grand economic opportunities and Latin America is no exception. In the global context, the US Empire is engaged in destructive wars (Afghanistan, Iraq, Pakistan, Libya, Yemen, Somalia and Haiti). In contrast China, India, Brazil, Argentina and other “emerging economies” are expanding trade, investments and reducing poverty. The European Union (EU) and the United States (USA) are in deep economic crises. The EU “periphery” (Greece, Ireland, Portugal, Spain) are totally bankrupt. The US “dependencies” in North America (Mexico), Central America and the Caribbean are virtual narco-states plagued by mass poverty, astronomical crime rates and economic stagnation. The US dependencies are plundered by foreign multi-nationals, local oligarchs and corrupt politicians.

Colombia stands at the crossroads: it can follow in the footsteps of its predecessor, narco-President Alvaro Uribe and remain a military dependency, a lone outpost of the US Empire in South America. Colombia can remain at the margin of the most dynamic world markets and at war with its people or via a new socio-political leadership it can effect a profound reorientation of policy and consummate a transition toward greater integration with the dynamic markets of the world.

Running Rupert to Ground – Vox Populi, Vox Dei

July 18th, 2011

By Michael Collins

How will they get rid of Rupert Murdoch and his toxic enterprises?

July 4, 2011 may turn into the people's Independence Day. On that day, stellar journalist Nick Davies of the Guardian released his story; Missing Milly Dowler's voicemail was hacked by News of the World. Twelve year old Milly Dowler had been kidnapped with foul play feared. The Murdoch tabloid couldn't resist. News of the World (the News) hired a private detective to hack Milly's voicemail. Finding the mail box full, the News or its hired dick deleted existing messages to make room for new ones, all to fuel their ongoing coverage. The deleted messages raised hopes by Milly's parents that she was still alive and using her voicemail. (Image)

The Davies story elicited a reaction of near universal shock, outrage, and revulsion. Milly had already been murdered by the time the Murdoch paper began its illegal tapping.

The public revulsion resulted in immediate and fervent popular demands for justice. Those demands were compounded by follow-up stories on other Murdoch media hacking. As it turned out, the News also broke into the voicemails of war widows to capture their most intimate exchanges on the loss of fallen soldiers in Afghanistan and Iraq. All in all, at least 4,000 citizens had their voicemails hacked to boost the Murdoch publication's circulation and profits.
