America to Watch Entanglement in Iraq’s Bloody Saga

June 14th, 2014

Dr. Mahboob A. Khawaja

“We are waging war on terrorism even as we embody terrorism. No wonder we seem sometimes to be at war with ourselves, and have been for most of the 21st century….. No American under 12 Has Lived in a Country at Peace…whatever the U.S. government knows, or thinks it knows, is not widely shared with most of its citizens….. The American Enemies List Is Decided Anonymously and Secretly.” (William Boardman, “ Is America a Country at war with an Illusion.” Information Clearing House: 8/19/2013).

Late Dr. Ali Shariati (the persuasive intellectual force of Iran’s Islamic revolution), once noted: “when people live in darkness, they lose sense of direction.” The 21st century knowledge-based information age tells a lot about how some of the global politicians and sadistic leaders tend to ignore the lessons of history. The darkness is returning to Baghdad. In March 2003, America waged a bloody war against Iraq under a false pretext of having ‘Weapons of Mass Destruction.’ All impartial accounts of the decade long war point out to the American-led savagery to have murdered approximately 3 million innocent people in Iraq and destroyed countless human habitats and hub of one of the well known ancient human civilizations.

Pakistan: Farzana Parveen Stoned to Death - But Why?

June 11th, 2014

Dr. Mahboob A. Khawaja

Farzana Parveen just 25 years old was born alone and died alone. The autopsy will show she did not die by natural causes but was stoned to death. She did not commit any crime except the dislike of her own parents and family members to marry Mohammad Iqbal. They viewed it a matter of honor to conspire to kill Farzana. The spectacular scene portrayed on the global news media showed hundreds of spectators witnessing the most horrifying crime to human nature, not in darkness but in broad daylight right where freedom, human dignity, and honor of the citizens should have been protected - The Lahore High Court compound and police in attendance. Farzana’s soul must be wondering, why did the society not protect her against this shameful act of extreme violence? Where are the concerned citizens who claim to be believers- the Muslims and day and night talk about Islam as being the faith and value of the society? The truth is Farzana is not the first victim of such a horrible tragedy. Every day countless Farazans become object of the powerful monsters of this beleaguered and mindless trend of the society. There is no Islam and no believing Muslims, as Farzana was being stoned to death, nobody came to rescue her.

June 10th, 2012

By Michael Collins
Somebody released information concerning one of President Barack Obama's methods for fighting terrorism. (Image)

"Mr. Obama has placed himself at the helm of a top secret nominations process to designate terrorists for kill or capture. Secret ‘Kill List’ Proves a Test of Obama’s Principles and Will, New York Times, May 29

Republicans are furious. Sen. John McCain says the White House intentionally leaked the story to make Obama look good.

"Regardless of how politically useful these leaks have been to the administration, they have to stop." John McCain, CBS News, June 6

Multi-Billion-Dollar Terrorists and the Disappearing Middle Class

July 11th, 2011

James Petras

The US government (White House and Congress) spends $10 billion dollars a month, or $120 billion a year, to fight an estimated “50 -75 ‘Al Qaeda types’ in Afghanistan”, according to the CIA and quoted in the Financial Times of London (6/25 -26/11, p. 5). During the past 30 months of the Obama presidency, Washington has spent $300 billion dollars in Afghanistan, which adds up to $4 billion dollars for each alleged ‘Al Queda type’. If we multiply this by the two dozen or so sites and countries where the White House claims ‘Al Qaeda’ terrorists have been spotted, we begin to understand why the US budget deficit has grown astronomically to over $1.6 trillion for the current fiscal year.

PASOK: Pan Hellenic Socialist Kleptocrats

July 6th, 2011

James Petras

“George Papandreou is not bought, he is rented. He sells public enterprises to the multinationals. He reduces wages, pensions and employment at the behest of the IMF. He turns over the public treasury to the European banks. He supports NATO’s war against Libya. He directs the Greek Coast Guard to enforce Netanyahu’s blockade of Gaza.” - According to a demonstrator in Syndigma Square, Athens, July 3, 2011

A self-proclaimed “Socialist” Government in Greece is imposing by ballots and clubs the most far reaching reversals of wages, pensions, jobs, educational, health and tax programs in the history of Western Europe.

Pakistani Intelligence on the Defensive after bin Laden Raid

May 13th, 2011

By Brian Dowing

That Osama bin Laden has been living comfortably in Abbottabad and evidently directing al Qaeda from there – all within earshot of a Pakistani military facility – has been a tremendous embarrassment to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI), but it comes as no surprise to Indian or many other intelligence services, though realization in Washington has been too long in coming. Paradoxically, US intelligence's recent success in Abbottabad has underscored a long-running failure.

ISI has long been complicit in aiding al Qaeda, the Afghan Taliban, Lashkar-i-Taiba, Jaish-i-Mohammed, and a slew of other militant groups operating along the Af-Pak line and in Kashmir. It organized Sipah-i-Sahaba to intimidate and kill Shia and Christians inside its country.

"Toxic Waste Bubble Gum" recalled for lead contamination

March 28th, 2011

By Rady Ananda

Believe it or not, there is actually a product on the market called "Toxic Waste Short Circuits Bubble Gum." How's that for subliminally mind-warping your children into thinking toxic waste is fun and tastes good, too! Ironically, the Pakistani product has been recalled for "elevated levels of lead," per the FDA. Only Lot #15070SC12, shipped between January 4 and March 18, 2011, is involved.

The candies look like spent uranium fuel pellets from a nuclear power plant. Isn't that cute? Forget that this nuclear waste is more dangerous than the nuclear reactor itself. Those fuel pellets are stored in rod assemblies that are submersed in cooling pools on top of nuclear reactors, as I detailed in a recent post.

Quoting physician and nuclear activist Dr Helen Caldicott:
