Zionist Zealots Inside and Outside AIPAC Conference

April 2nd, 2017

Stephen Lendman

A rogue’s gallery of Zionist zealots addressed attendees at the Washington Convention Center, including numerous congressional members - proceedings held from March 26 - 28.

Protesters called the conference an AIPACalyse, outside as well as inside this year.

The Jewish Defense League (JDL), founded by Meir Kahana, supports anti-Arab violence. The Department of Homeland Security called it a “former terrorist organization.”

The FBI considers it “a right-wing extremist group,” accusing it of plotting and carrying out violent incidents.

The extremist, pro-Israeli Anti-Defamation League (ADL) said its members are “thugs and hooligans.”

Palestinian/American Kamal Nayfeh felt its fury. Visiting his daughter, a Georgetown University student, JDL thugs viciously attacked him - unprovoked.

He was in the wrong place at the wrong time, walking past the Washington Convention Center.

According to the Institute for Middle East Understanding (IMEU), he was “punched, kicked, and hit in the face with flag poles, leaving him (bloodied) with cuts and bruises all over his face and body.”

Hospitalized for treatment, he needed 18 stitches around his eye. His daughter Danya said “(w)hen I heard the screams and found out my father was being beaten nearby, I was horrified.”

“I ran to him as quickly as I could. He appeared stunned and his eye looked awful, all swollen and cut up.”

“They beat him after they heard he was Palestinian. He was not threatening at all. It’s perfectly clear that my father was brutalized simply because of who he is.”

Two JDL members were arrested and released - one charged with a misdemeanor, the other with felony assault.

Police on the scene were slow to react. They had to be urged to intervene. Danya said her family is shaken by what occurred, feeling unsafe, fearing what happened to her father can happen again.

Anti-AIPAC protests and violence outside the Washington Convention Center went largely unreported.

Activist Shana Shawn Salzberg described a confrontation with “huge muscular white men,” explaining:

One of them took a pole smashed it on a tall person’s forehead, which started bleeding. I was shoved hard with a closed fist and a pole in such a way that my head ended up behind someone’s arm which ended up cutting off my wind pipe for a second.”

“These were Jews shoving and stabbing other Jews in the name of Jewish protection.”

Violence outside Washington’s Convention Center was mild compared to what Palestinians experience daily.

Vicious assaults by Israeli security forces target them repeatedly, this year alone resulting in 17 Palestinian deaths, many others injured, arrested, imprisoned and tortured for being unwanted Arabs in territories Israel wants exclusively for Jews.
