The Arab Revolt in Tunisia and Egypt

February 6th, 2011

I get sick to my stomach listening to CNN or reading the New York Times but i do it every once and a while because i like to learn what the imperialist and pro-Zionist media outlets are saying. Yesterday was no exception as I listened to the mutterings of CNN as it collided heads trying to cover the million or so that constituted the Egyptian brave youths as they listened in to the latest trash talk uttered by Hosni Mubarak who they are working to dispose of.

Western media coverage has been deliberately incompetent and lacks luster as it relies on translations and even copying of the excellent media coverage afforded by the Qatar based satellite station Aljazeerah.

Both in the case of Tunisia and Egypt American media coverage has been mediocre and incompetent at best and an accomplice to the Arab dictators and protectors of their unjust rule at worst. If there is a conspiracy then American led media is influenced by both the pro-imperialist forces at work such as the CIA and its agents embedded in media outlets and in the form of so-called experts and field reporters. Or it is fueled by the Zionists and their agents of so-called experts and field reporters. At one instance the CNN coverage was so bad that the commentators and field reporters were contradicting themselves. As one anchor proclaimed the crowds as jubilant upon hearing Hosni Mubarak's speech while other field reporters such as the Arab speaking ones were busy telling the anchors that these were jeers and not cheers and that the Egyptian crowd was in fact angry and chanting that they shall not leave Tahreer square where they were demonstrating until Mubarak unequivocally secedes power.

One such expert CNN field reporter (possibly undercover CIA agent) said he was so far situated from the crowds that he couldn't make out what they were chanting but did feel expert enough to declare that a million or so in Tahreer square "were not representative of the whole Egyptian people" which he also added with his usual expert voice had crowds that were pro-Mubarak. That's like saying that 99% of the Egyptian people who were protesting and asking for the removal and persecution of Hosni Mubarak and all over Egypt mind you not just in Cairo do not constitute a majority!

It is this kind of coverage and from so-called prestigious media outlets such as CNN is the reason why many Arabs and non-Arabs simply turn their channels to Aljazeerah and turn off CNN. This kind of coverage has made Western media too prejudiced and too infiltrated by CIA intelligence and pro-Zionist forces to have any kind of credibility outside, well, outside pro-imperialist and pro-Zionist circles.

It is ironic that Obama who began his reign as imperialist emperor of the USA began by an address to Muslims from Cairo Egypt. Today him and his "Israeli" friends are watching in horror as the rug is pulled out from underneath their own two feet as the Egyptian people rise and revolt as to dispose of their most treasured of allies Hosni Mubarak and one of the most ardent of protectors of "Israel" and its future fragile existence.

They must be scratching their heads in bewilderment, Clinton, Biden, Obama, and wondering how could this all happen and so fast after they thought they 'smoothed things over' with the Muslim people of the world and the Arabs in particular as they flash addressed them American style from Cairo.

This Hosni Mubarak who has ruled ruthlessly in Egypt for the last 30 years has devastated Egypt and its people in repression and torture, wholesaled Palestine and participated in the attack on Iraq and Gaza, and accomplished poverty, unemployment, and lack of future for Egypt's youth, poor, and unemployed and did that with great competence with American political approval and armament support for the last 30 years.

Now like Zein AlAbdeen Bin Ali of Tunisia, another despot supported by America, his time is up with the Arab people who toppled the corrupt AlAbdeen of Tunisia and now are working to topple the reign of the corrupt Mubarak in Egypt.

The lack of official US support for these popular uprisings in Tunis and Egypt is obvious to the Arab people who know all too well the biased position of the American government in favor of these dictators and in favor of "Israel" the enemy of the Arab nation.

As such it is common discourse in Arab media to point to the hypocrisy of US government positions and American media coverage with regards to these important Arab popular revolts when American government officials and media on one hand clamor and laud the orange revolts of ex-Soviet nations such as Ukrania but barely give just-coverage to such monumental democratic, popular, freedom of speech led people uprisings such as those in Tunisia and Egypt happening now.

This double standard and hypocrisy is not absent from the understandings and recognition of the Arab people, yet Obama and his lackeys scratch their heads and wonder why they fail with Arab opinion time after time.

There has been much written in the Arab language, but this article written in the English language aims to answer those in the West who have an open mind and are puzzled by what is going on.

Here's what is going on. The US government and "Israel" have supported unjust dictatorship regimes in both Egypt and Tunisia for the last 20-30 yrs. Twenty three years in the case of the dictatorship of Tunisia's Ben Ali and 30 years in the case of the dictatorship of Mubarak in Egypt. During this time these rulers have practiced the most atrocious of trespasses on human rights and repression onto their people with American support. They have instilled undemocratic rule of a corrupt political regime and unparalleled repressive security apparatus. They have accomplished nothing but poverty, misery, and unemployment for the majority of their people. They have conspired with the US to attack and destroy Iraq and have conspired with the US and "Israel" to attack Gaza and worked to sustain the security of "Israel" during their time of rule. The Arab people know this and have simply had enough. Fueled by the youths they have taken to the streets and toppled one regime and are working on the other for a more representative just and patriotic ruler.

The US government now is trying to push for its own agents in Egypt to assume ruler-ship after Hosni Mubarak is disposed of. The American led media is pushing for that as well. The biggest concern is that an important pro-"Israel" and pro-imperialist regime in Arabia would be lost especially in a country that shares a border with the much American adored and safe-guarded "Israel". The main focus of US political maneuvers is to bring some elements of the old regime in to maintain the old status quo in favor of America and "Israel". If that is not accepted by the Egyptian people then the US will push for a pro-imperialist agent such as Mohammed AlBaradei whom they know well from their intelligence work against martyred president Saddam Hussein in Iraq.

So in essence the Egyptian and Tunisian people must now work diligently against those who are trying to politically sabotage the victory of their popular revolution and know this all too well. On one hand in both Tunisia and Egypt members of the reactionary old guard are trying to instill a replacement government to bring back the old regime in an indirect fashion. Laughable in the case of Egypt is the proposition made by Mubarak to instill his head of intelligence Omar Suleiman as vice president and possible successor. The old-guard replacement of Mohammed AlGhanoshi in Tunisia has already been opposed by the Tunisian people.

Why bother Hosni Mubarak? Why not just stay in power and bring in your own son Jamal? This of course was immediately rejected by the Egyptian popular forces and the opposition parties. US attempts will try to now infiltrate its own agents to head the next Egyptian ruler-ship. As i mentioned people like AlBaradei are considered as well as army generals from inside the Egyptian army who are pro-America are being sought after. The main criteria set by the American politicians will be loyalty to America and its imperialist designs in the region and protection of its ally "Israel".

So the Egyptian and Tunisian revolts will have to fend off the return of members of the old regime through their stooge replacements and to fend off American interference in deciding who shall be the next ruler.

Alternatively the Arab popular solution that is being proposed is through a general consensus that exists in the Arab street today in both Tunisia and Egypt that calls for a temporary national government that shall be put in place and that free elections will decide which candidate is elected with the stipulation that the elected candidate neither has ties to America nor is a member of the old regime. As such all opposition forces in Egyptian society and Tunisian society are agreed on this from the Islamists, Nationalists, Leftists, Liberals, and Independents.

Whereas CNN likes to broad paint brush all those opposed to America as "Islamic fundamentalists", nothing is furthest from the truth. There is a long-standing history of opposition forces in both Tunisia and Egypt that span the whole political spectrum and the time has come for them to act and form a national unity government and to lead both nations to a truly sovereign and independent Arab option.
