The world is losing trust in the dollar as a safe haven. A major blow came after Germany's Bundesbank demanded the repatriation of a big chunk of its gold being held in the US. Because as RT's Gayane Chichakyan reports, some are concerned the assets of foreign nations in the Federal Reserve are not secure or even there. The Germans were infuriated when the US Federal reserve didn't even let them examine their own assets properly. On late Friday afternoon, August 30th, peace and justice activists held an anti-war demonstration. Their message was clear and cogent: “No U.S. war with Syria!” The rally took place at Centre and North Charles Streets at the base of the Washington Monument, in the historic Mt. Vernon District. The activists insisted there was no clear evidence that Syria had perpetrated any “chemical attack” on its own people. They also cautioned against any rush to judgement in this controversial matter, especially in light of the 935 serial lies and deceptions, via the Bush-Cheney Gang, which led the U.S. into the disastrous and costly Iraq War. One of the fears expressed by an activist at the rally was that U.S. missile strikes will only trigger more misery for the Syrian people and for the over one million refugees, about half of them Christians, who have been residing there in order to escape the horrors of the Iraq War. Press TV: Now it is interesting to know that despite the clear and concrete indications that is was the foreign backed insurgents that used the chemical weapons against the Syrian population. We only hear the Western countries and their allies within the region speaking of a red line when Assad government uses chemical weapons. Why aren't these red lines being drawn for the insurgents?

Dr. John Apsley reported on increased deaths in North America that he believes are associated with the Fukushima catastrophe, and the leaking of radiation. There was a spike in infant mortality rates within the first 10 weeks of the catastrophe in cities across the US, and the radiation contamination likely came through rainfall, he said, adding that infants were particularly susceptible because of their reduced thyroid function.

On Wednesday afternoon, August 21, 2013, supporters of Pfc. Bradley Manning held a press conference at a hotel in Hanover, MD. It is located just minutes from Fort Meade, where the Wikileaks whistle-blower had earlier received a 35-year prison sentence from the trial judge, Col. Denise Lind. Manning also was “dishonorably discharged.” He was found guilty of various charges ranging from computer fraud to federal theft dealing with the unauthorized release of “over 700,000 documents.” I talked with a social justice advocate, Kevin Zeese, about the situation. He shared his views with me. Zeese is a member of the “Bradley Manning’ Support Team.”
