B'Tselem: IDF may have executed unarmed Palestinian militants

An investigation into an overnight Israel Defense Forces operation in the West Bank city of Nablus early Saturday suggests that Israeli soldiers may have executed two of the three Palestinian militants who were killed, the left wing rights group B'Tselem said Saturday.

According to B'Tselem, in two of the three cases the troops behaved as if they were preparing for an execution, not an arrest. Relatives and eyewitnesses told B'Tselem that the two were unarmed and did not attempt to flee, and that the soldiers weren't trying to stop them, but rather shot them from close range once their identity was revealed. There were no witnesses to the shooting of the third man.

Egypt using 'bureaucracy' against besieged Gazans

British lawmaker and anti-war activist George Galloway says Egypt is using bureaucracy as a pretext to impede humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip. Galloway and 449 other human rights activists who are part of the Viva Palestina aid convoy are currently stuck in Jordan, since Cairo has denied them permission to Egypt via the Red Sea. Galloway said "it does not seem sensible to allow hundreds of tons of medicine to go off and to be spoiled and vital equipment for ill and injured people in Gaza to be stopped just because of a bureaucratic and technical difference." The Egyptian authorities have barred the convoy from taking the most direct route into Egypt by entering the country via the Red Sea, directing the activists towards the el-Arish port on the Mediterranean coast — which is hardly accessible for the group. Danger: Popular struggle

There is an internal document that has not been leaked, or perhaps has not even been written, but all the forces are acting according to its inspiration: the Shin Bet, Israel Defense Forces, Border Police, police, and civil and military judges. They have found the true enemy who refuses to whither away: The popular struggle against the occupation. Over the past few months, the efforts to suppress the struggle have increased. The target: Palestinians and Jewish Israelis unwilling to give up their right to resist [the] reign of demographic separation and Jewish supremacy. The Palestinians have a right to exist; therefore they have a right to resist. The Zionists now are dispersing demonstrations with live ammunition, late-night army raids and mass arrests. "Israel" has no right to exist whatever. The Jews as a people do have such a right, of course they have, but they do not have a right to occupy another people's territory, much less a right to terrorize its population. These essential principles are neither complicated nor "controversial". They are very, very simple. Let us keep it that way.

"The plan is based on reducing the Palestinian presence in Jerusalem," Abdul-Qader told Voice of Palestine radio, adding that Israel "is terrified from the demographic situation 42 years after it has occupied the city."

Israel has admitted that pathologists harvested organs from dead Palestinians, and others without the consent of their families – a practice that it said "ended in the 1990s", it emerged at the weekend. The admission, by the former head of the country's forensic institute, followed a furious row prompted by a Swedish newspaper reporting that Israel was killing Palestinians in order to use their organs – a charge that Israel denied and called "antisemitic". The revelation, in a television documentary, is likely to generate anger in the Arab and Muslim world and reinforce sinister stereotypes of Israel and its attitude to Palestinians. An Israeli Knesset member says there is evidence showing that deceased Palestinians were stripped bare of their vital organs while in police custody in Tel Aviv. Israeli politician and leader of the Arab nationalist party, Ahmad Tibi, said on Saturday that a medical institution in Israel harvested appendages from the bodies of dead Palestinians in the 1990's. According to Tibi, the body parts, which included heart arteries, bones, and corneal tissue, were used in organ transplants for Israeli soldiers. Meanwhile, the Israeli television has shown a documentary in this regard, claiming that Israeli politician and Knesset member Aryeh Eldad was the main culprit behind the bodysnatching incident. The impunity of Israel and its allies will carry a price

Outrage over Tzipi Livni's arrest warrant would be better directed to the suffering of Gaza and the risks of a new eruption. When evidence of war crimes is produced, you might expect states that claim to defend the rule of law to want those crimes investigated and the perpetrators held to account. Not a bit of it. The decision by a London judge to issue a warrant for the arrest of Israel's former foreign minister Tzipi Livni over evidence of serious breaches of the laws of war in Gaza has sparked official outrage in Britain. The court's behaviour was "insufferable", foreign secretary David Miliband declared. The Times called it "repugnant". Gordon Brown yesterday assured Livni that action would be taken to ensure no such thing ever happens again. AWIP: UK to review war crimes warrants after Tzipi Livni arrest row.

We don't remember British officialdom protesting when the mass murders in Gaza took place. British politicians, including Prime Minister & Poodle Tony Blair kept mum, and let 1,420 Palestinians be killed (446 of them children), 5,320 be injured (1,855 of them children), let 4,000 houses be destroyed and 16,000 houses be damaged without uttering a single word of protest, much less of outrage. -How can we now take their reactions to this British court seriously? Among modern-day hypocrites, aren't these obnoxious Friends of Israel the most contemptible and despicable? The following twelve lines of mockery do not seem at all inappropriate:

Grovel, grovel, bow and scrape:
kowtow, crawl and lick their boots.

Fawn and flatter, curry favor
from morning until late at night:

We cater to their every need,
and keenly heed their faintest call.

We excuse their cruelest deeds
and blame the victims, one and all
--even babes killed in mother's arms.

Lest we incur their righteous wrath,
we lower and demean ourselves
and keep note: always be umble.

The recent arrest warrant issued in London for former Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni is more than justified. This woman, along with two other Israeli leaders, Ehud Olmert and Ehud Barak, stood at the helm of the Israeli government that ordered, supervised and charted the genocidal onslaught against the Gaza Strip this time last year. She was a chief participant in the decision-making process who also supervised the progress of the hideous massacre from the beginning to the end. Needless to say, the decisions taken by Livni, and other suspected Israeli war criminals, did lead to the murder of more than 1440 people, including hundreds of innocent children whose lives were terminated by indiscriminate bombings from air, land and sea. This is in addition to the pornographic destruction of a huge part of Gaza’s civilian infrastructure, including tens of thousands of homes, mosques, and public buildings of every kind. The monstrous, satanic and evil lady knew perfectly what she was doing.

Egyptian officials yesterday confirmed that Cairo is covertly constructing an underground steel barrier along the border with Gaza to cut smuggling into the Strip. They contradicted a report in the Cairo daily Al-Shorouk quoting an unidentified source who said, “Egypt is dealing with smuggling seriously and is capable of stopping it without [a] wall.” When completed in 18 months’ time, the impenetrable and indestructible wall will be 10-11km in length and will extend 18-30m below the surface along the 13km-long border. Four kilometres have, reportedly, been completed north of the town of Rafah, which is bisected by the border that also divides Palestinian families – many of whom are involved in the illegal cross-border trade.

AFTER YEARS OF DECEIT: US OPENLY ACCEPTS BIN LADEN LONG DEAD

December 11th, 2009
Categories: News, Afghanistan, Middle East, War

Link: http://www.veteranstoday.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=9641

Conservative commentator, former Marine Colonel Bob Pappas has been saying for years that bin Laden died at Tora Bora and that Senator Kerry's claim that bin Laden escaped with Bush help was a lie. Now we know that Pappas was correct. The embarassment of having Secretary of State Clinton talk about bin Laden in Pakistan was horrific. He has been dead since December 13, 2001 and now, finally, everyone, Obama, McChrystal, Cheney, everyone who isn't nuts is finally saying what they have known for years.

However, since we lost a couple of hundred of our top special operations forces hunting for bin Laden after we knew he was dead, is someone going to answer for this with some jail time? Since we spent 200 million dollars on "special ops" looking for someone we knew was dead, who is going to jail for that? Since Bush, Rumsfeld and Cheney continually talked about a man they knew was dead, now known to be for reasons of POLITICAL nature, who is going to jail for that? Why were tapes brought out, now known to be forged, as legitimate intelligence to sway the disputed 2004 election in the US? This is a criminal act if there ever was one.

In 66 pages, General Stanley McChrystal never mentions Osama bin Laden. Everything is "Mullah Omar" now. In his talk at West Point, President Obama never mentioned Osama bin Laden. Col. Pappas makes it clear, Vice President Cheney let it "out of the bag" long ago. Bin Laden was killed by American troops many many years ago.

The US cash behind Israeli extremist settlers: IRS records identified 28 US charitable groups that made a total of $33.4m in tax-exempt contributions

The Hebron Fund is raising vast sums for Israeli settlements that violate the Geneva convention, with little scrutiny. The fundraiser went forward despite calls for its cancellation from grassroots human rights organisations from the US, Palestine and Israel. The fact that the Hebron Fund likely raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for extremist Israeli settlers at a major US venue with little public scrutiny is a troubling sign for those who hope that the US can play a constructive role in achieving a just peace in the Middle East. Perhaps more worryingly, according to Washington Post columnist David Ignatius: "A search of IRS records identified 28 US charitable groups that made a total of $33.4m in tax-exempt contributions to settlements and related organisations between 2004 and 2007." Some of the larger organisations, including Friends of the Ateret Cohanim and Friends of Ir David, both leading the Jewish settler takeover of Palestinian East Jerusalem, are based in New York City.

Obama Expands US Secret War In Pakistan!

Maddow talks about this "secret" war. -Why, this war is no secret! We've known about it for a long time. Least of all is it a "secret" to the Pakistanis. The better part of Pakistan's population of 200,800,000 know full well what nations it is, whose troops & airplanes are killing them by the droves. Many people in other parts of the world know it too. -Only thing is, to the Americans, this ongoing US killing spree seems to have been "secret". -Just like when Henry Kissinger ordered a “secret bombing”, extending the war in Vietnam into Cambodia in the early 1970s...As a Doonesbury cartoon long ago noted about Nixon's secret bombing of Cambodia, the secret was kept from the Congress and the American people -- not the Cambodians:

"They weren't secret. 'Look, Martha, here come the bombs,' I said."
"That's right. He did."
