Hitler would seize ‘gun registration lists’ of legal gun owners in the places he invaded to locate those who owned firearms legally under their previous government. The Nazi’s would immediately order all firearms be turned over within 24 hours or face immediate execution. The people on those lists a horrifying dilemma. If they turned over their weapons as ordered they could face being executed anyway or sent to a forced labor camp anyway.
