A renowned US historian says Russia will respond to a war on Syria as anti-Syrian propaganda by Israeli, NATO and US officials suggesting a possible military intervention in the Arab country is escalating, Press TV reports. In an exclusive interview with Press TV, Dr. Webster Griffin Tarpley pointed to comments made by the US Department of State’s spokesperson, Victoria Nuland, and the NATO chief, Andres Fogh Rasmussen, who compared Syria to Bosnia, with “the obvious implication that NATO may do a unilateral, outside of the UN Security Council, bombing attack.”
Back in 1992 the Pentagon’s Joint Chiefs of Staff held a "Strategy Essay Competition." The winner was a National War College student paper entitled, "The Origins of the American Military Coup of 2012." Authored by Colonel Charles J. Dunlap, Jr. the paper is a well documented, "darkly imagined excursion into the future." The ostensibly fictional work is written from the perspective of an imprisoned senior military officer about to be executed for opposing the military takeover of America, a coup accomplished through "legal" means. The essay makes the point that the coup was "the outgrowth of trends visible as far back as 1992," including "the massive diversion of military forces to civilian uses," particularly law enforcement.
Rising interest rates in bond markets demonstrate that the €100 billion Spanish bailout last weekend has done nothing to resolve the euro zone crisis and may well have made it even worse. The rate on Spanish 10-year bonds climbed to the danger level of 6.8 percent Wednesday, while interest rates on Italian one-year government debt reached their highest levels since last December.
Earlier this year, an Army veteran with four combat deployments under his belt and a sterling professional record came forward with a disturbing accusation: Senior military officials are lying to the American public about conditions on the ground in Afghanistan. In the 84-page report, Lt. Col. Daniel Davis questions the effectiveness of U.S. military strategy, and documents ways that the Pentagon expertly manipulates the media to present a falsely optimistic view of the war.
The U.S. military has completed plans to conduct operations against Syria which all involve large numbers of U.S. troops and extended operation. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, tells CNN that the U.S. military has completed planning to conduct a variety of military operations against Syria in the event orders are issued.

Federal prosecutors are targeting medical marijuana shops in California, seeking forfeiture of the properties in which they do business.
The housing market has shown some promising signs of late, but a fresh batch of foreclosure data offers a reminder that any recovery from the housing bust will likely be slow, spotty and painful. RealtyTrac reported Thursday that foreclosure filings rose by 9 percent in May from a month earlier, to 205,990 total properties that were subject to default notices, scheduled auctions or bank repossessions.
Yes, it’s an election year in America but the world is going to be watching another vote this weekend in Greece. Rarely does an election in a country as small as Greece have global implications — Greece produces less than 2% of Europe’s GDP. But we live in unusual times.
Hillary Clinton, US Secretary of State has announced that the Obama administration is working with the United Nations (UN) to approve, through the US Congress, the Small Arms Treaty (SAT). Obama Seeks US Congressional Ratification of UN Global Gun Control Treaty This global gun control scheme, concocted by the UN, is called the International Arms Control Treaty (IACT). Disguised as a way to combat terrorism, insurgents and international criminals, this document endeavors to secure that the world’s citizens cannot defend themselves.
Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) and Barbara Boxer (D-CA) on Thursday introduced an amendment to the farm bill that would give states the power to label genetically modified food. “I personally believe, and I think most Americans believe, that when a mother goes to the store and purchases food for her child, she has the right to know what she is feeding her child,” he said on the Senate floor.
I don’t have the time needed or deserved so I will publish a series of youtube lectures, many are available by Phil Schneider. Without violating confidences, I am “briefed in” on several UFO issues, some officially, some through high value relationships, none that allow me to mention anything but the anecdotal.
On June 7, 2012, under the title “Assassin-in-Chief”, an internet website published the following: “…you aren’t just electing a president of the United States; you are also electing an assassin-in-chief.” “Thanks to a long New York Times piece by Jo Becker and Scott Shane, ‘Secret ’Kill List’ Proves a Test of Obama’s Principles and Will’, we now know that the president has spent startling amounts of time overseeing the "nomination" of terrorist suspects for assassination via the remotely piloted drone programme he inherited from President George W. Bush and which he has expanded exponentially.
It looked like a scene out of a Hollywood movie. In the inky darkness, men in full combat gear, armed with automatic weapons and wearing night-vision goggles, grabbed hold of a thick, woven cable hanging from a MH-47 Chinook helicopter. Then, in a flash, each “fast-roped” down onto a ship below. Afterward, “Mike,” a Navy SEAL who would not give his last name, bragged to an Army public affairs sergeant that, when they were on their game, the SEALs could put 15 men on a ship this way in 30 seconds or less.
by Ralph Nader, Mitt Romney’s daily dittohead assertions make one wonder what he got out of the law and business degrees he received from Harvard University. One of his regular blasts blames Barack Obama for the daily reports of bad economic indicators. Unemployment increases – blame Obama. Retail sales decline – blame Obama. Profits not rising – blame Obama. Housing crisis continues– blame Obama.

Well, we must vote in the upcoming presidential election, right? How can we abdicate our right? How can we leave the battlefield to the robots? If we don’t vote, we can’t criticize what happens in the next four years. On the other hand, if we’re standing in a room behind a table that holds two levers, and if we pull lever 1 a bullet is going to come out of the wall and kill us, and if we pull lever 2 a flame is going to shoot out of the wall and burn us down, it becomes a matter of idiosyncratic preference, doesn’t it?
Is it possible that we are already in a global recession but just don’t know it yet? And is the U.S. itself—still the epicenter of the world economy—standing on the front edge of another recession?
Just after it was released that CT scan radiation actually triples the risk of brain tumor development in children, new research is now ousting the fact that average radiation exposure from such medical imaging tests has skyrocketed over the past decade. And the result of this admittedly ‘excessive radiation’ is an increased risk of not only cancer, but other significant health conditions.
Central banks from major economies stand ready to take steps to stabilize financial markets by providing liquidity and preventing a credit squeeze if the outcome of Greek elections on Sunday causes tumultuous trading, G20 officials told Reuters. A senior U.S. official cautioned that the Greek election will not provide "the definitive signal on what happens next" in the euro zone debt crisis.
Nuclear engineer identifies ‘weakest link’ at Unit No. 4 — “Potential catastrophic drain down” of fuel pool. During a review of events concerning the status of Fukushima Unit 4, nuclear engineer Chris Harris identified the “weakest link” which may initiate a spent fuel pool draindown event. A major portion of the water in the Fukushima Unit 4 Spent Fuel Pool remains over the Fuel because of the, “Refueling Bulkhead and Bellows” Seal (see drawing above).
A majority of Americans, it seems, approve of drone strikes against terrorists, even if they kill innocent bystanders. The Pew Global Attitudes Project poll found that while most people worldwide disapprove of the tactic, 62 percent of Americans approved of the drone strikes, while 28 percent disapproved. While 74 percent of Republicans approved, surprisingly, 60 percent of independents and 58 percent of Democrats also approved.
