At least 40 people have been killed and a dozen more injured after gunmen burst into a casino in the northern Mexican city of Monterey and set it on fire. Adrian de la Garza, the prosecutor for Nuevo Leon state, of which Monterrey is the capital, told reporters outside the massive casino that Thursday's attack had left 40 people dead, adding that the death toll could still rise. The incident at Casino Royale, represented one of the deadliest attacks on an entertainment centre in Mexico since President Felipe Calderon launched an offensive against drug cartels in late 2006.
