The European campaign to end the siege on Gaza warned Friday that Gaza people would suffer from mass thirst and poisoning as a result of the contamination of drinking water. In a press release, the campaign said that the continuing crisis of drinking water and sanitation in Gaza in light of the international community’s silence is a serious violation of human dignity.

LONDON - Top finance officials from rich and developing countries agreed Saturday to curb hefty bankers' bonuses, but the proposed crackdown on excessive payouts so far falls short of European demands after the U.S. and Britain shied away from imposing a cap. U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner pushed a proposal for more capital reserves for banks rather than a cap on bankers' bonuses at the G-20 meeting in London. The looting of America and Briton by the ruthless international Federal Reserve banking thieves continues unabated.

As someone who works in marketing, I know a “pre-sell” when I see one. Pre-selling is an extremely powerful sales tactic in which a source that seems reputable (ie. the target audience is likely to trust the source) begins to subtly convince the intended victim, er, customer, that an upcoming product or service is worthwhile in order to increase the likelihood of selling the product once it arrives. Afghanistan is mourning the death of at least ninety people, mostly civilians, who lost their lives in the recent NATO bombing in the north of the country. Memorial ceremonies are being held in nearly a dozen Afghan villages for the Kunduz province victims who were killed after NATO troops targeted two fuel tankers in the region. The raids have been condemned by the Afghan government which has long been demanding an end to numerous deadly foreign attacks on civilians.

US airstrike incinerates scores of civilians

An airstrike by US warplanes operating as part of the NATO occupation in northern Afghanistan killed more than 100 people early Friday morning, most of them civilians who were incinerated when two gasoline tankers, hit by bombs, exploded in flames. Large numbers of severely wounded have been taken to the local hospital in trucks and carts. The two tankers, hijacked by Taliban guerrillas, became stuck in the mud trying to cross the Kunduz River. The insurgents abandoned the tankers after opening the valves, and the local population of the village of Omar Kheil rushed from their homes to pour off gasoline into any containers they could find. While this scramble for precious fuel was underway, at about 2:30 a.m. local time, German military forces who patrol in Kunduz province as part of the NATO occupation called in an air attack, which was carried out by two US F-15 fighter-bombers. Each jet hit the tankers with a 500-pound bomb. Al Jazeera: Video: Nato strike angers Afghans. Straits TiMes: NATO strike a mistake. ClarksvilleOnline: Kucinich Condemns NATO Strike in Afghanistan. Our attempt to transform what is a deeply divided, poverty stricken, tribal-based society -- while our own country faces economic peril -- is nothing short of ludicrous.

Gates: AP decision 'appalling'

TURBO CHARGED HYPOCRISY: Defense Secretary Robert Gates is objecting “in the strongest terms” to an Associated Press decision to transmit a photograph showing a mortally wounded 21-year-old Marine in his final moments of life, calling the decision “appalling” and a breach of “common decency.” “I cannot imagine the pain and suffering Lance Corporal Bernard’s death has caused his family. Why your organization would purposefully defy the family’s wishes knowing full well that it will lead to yet more anguish is beyond me. Your lack of compassion and common sense in choosing to put this image of their maimed and stricken child on the front page of multiple American newspapers is appalling. The issue here is not law, policy or constitutional right – but judgment and common decency.” We are not in Afghanistan because of freedom or democracy. On the contrary, it has to do with energy & pipelines, minerals (including uranium) and heroin (not the alleged "eradication" of it but heroin as a CIA operated business). A strategic encirclement of China is also a main part of this neo-imperialistic project. Freedom & democracy is pure propaganda, nothing but. Let's face it: This war is illegal and immoral. --On a daily basis Robert Gates sends young brainwashed men to the theaters of war, knowing full well that many of them will return in a coffin. He is one of the Masters of War --Gates is responsible for their deaths. And yet this saintly talk about "compassion" and "common decency"! --The hypocrisy is absolutely mind-boggling. The AP reported in a story that it decided to make the image public anyway because it “conveys the grimness of war and the sacrifice of young men and women fighting it.” The grimness, yes, there is a cost here in terms of the loss of young Americans that we should consider. Even better, we should consider what our endless wars are doing to people all over the world. TampaBay: Associated Press says photo of Lance Cpl. Joshua Bernard shows realities of war.
