Despite Kristallancht being widely reported, world took no steps to punish Germany. The Berlin correspondent of the London Daily Telegraph reported on November 10: “Mob law ruled in Berlin throughout the afternoon and evening and hordes of hooligans indulged in an orgy of destruction. I have seen several anti-Jewish outbreaks in Germany during the last five years, but never anything as nauseating as this. Racial hatred and hysteria seemed to have taken complete hold of otherwise decent people. I saw fashionably dressed women clapping their hands and screaming with glee, while respectable, middle-class mothers held up their babies to see the “’fun.’” This was just one of many reports that appeared in the international press after the Nazis instigated attacks on Jews throughout Germany and Austria on November 9-10 in what became known as Kristallancht, the “Night of Broken Glass. During the “orgy of destruction” at least 96 Jews were murdered, 1,300 synagogues and 7,500 businesses were destroyed, and countless Jewish cemeteries and schools were vandalized. An estimated 30,000 Jews were imprisoned in concentration camps. HaAretz: Settlers attack 6-year-old Palestinian boy with rock. Germans may remember the persecution of the Jews, but the Israelis don't. -They don't remember anything at all and have learned even less. And like in Germany, the evil pogrom against the Palestinians is witnessed by all and yet the world has taken no steps to punish Israel. And in case you haven't paid attention, Zionist thugs have set up shop in France too: Jewish extremists in France.

FOR YEARS David Bellamy was one of the best known faces on TV. A respected botanist and the author of 35 books, he had presented around 400 programmes over the years and was appreciated by audiences for his boundless enthusiasm. Yet for more than 10 years he has been out of the limelight, shunned by bosses at the BBC where he made his name, as well as fellow scientists and environmentalists.

Tony Blair could face the prospect of an International Criminal Court investigation for alleged coalition war crimes in Iraq. The court's chief prosecutor said at the weekend that he would be willing to launch an inquiry and could envisage a scenario in which the British Prime Minister and US President George Bush could one day face charges at The Hague. Luis Moreno-Ocampo urged Arab countries, particularly Iraq, to sign up to the court to enable allegations against the West to be pursued. Iraq's ambassador to the United Nations said that his country was actively considering signing up.

The first trumpet blast of change ushers in Rahm Emanuel as Obama’s chief of staff and gate keeper. This is the man who arranges his schedule, staffs out the agenda, includes, excludes. It’s certainly as sinister an appointment as, say, Carter’s installation of arch cold-warrior Zbigniev Brzezinski as his National Security Advisor at the dawn of his “change is here” administration in 1977. Emanuel, as Ralph Nader points out in my interview with him below, represents the worst of the Clinton years. His profile as regards Israel is explored well on this site by lawyer John Whitbeck. He’s a former Israeli citizen, who volunteered to serve in Israel in 1991 and who made brisk millions in Wall Street. He is a super-Likudnik hawk, whose father was in the fascist Irgun in the late Forties, responsible for cold-blooded massacres of Palestinians. ► Is Obama Screwing His Base with Rahm Emanuel Selection?

A former US national security adviser says President-elect Barack Obama may be tested by terrorists after he takes office on Jan. 20. "It's possible. There's no way of predicting that. It's a possibility, but it's by no means a certainty," former Carter administration national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski said in an interview with Deutsche Welle.

Are we quickly approaching the time when foreign secret police on U.S. soil, with impunity, will knock at our door in the dark of night and take us away, who knows, to a world government concentration camp? Skolnick will prepare our readers for what is coming very soon. Most people don't know of Rahm Emanuel's frightening past. After President Clinton's election many years ago, one day Rahm Emanuel, Obama's future chief of staff, allegedly named each of the enemies of the Clinton campaign and then stabbing the table with a knife while yelling "dead!" after each name prior to stabbing the table... "Rahm Emanuel - Top reputed black-mailer, extortionist, and arm-twister for the Clinton White House."

As 19 naval officers accused of killing a young Catholic priest are arrested, his sister tells Giles Tremlett how she defied intimidation and threats from the former Chilean dictator's supporters to bring his brutal henchmen to trial. In recent years a determined, Anglo-Chilean woman has become a common sight in the streets of Valparaíso, the port city that was the power base of General Augusto Pinochet. She has spoken to judges, lawyers and ordinary Chileans. Gradually, in a remarkable tale of courage and perseverance, she has pieced together the grisly events that took place over 30 years ago, when she lost her brother to the brutality of the Pinochet regime.

In light of Sen. Obama’s historic win on Tuesday night, certain perspectives must be taken into consideration in order to avoid being taken for a 4 year ride, which provides nothing, having promised NOTHING! In the long and winded 20-month battle for a seat at the table of presidency, Sen. Obama has often conducted himself with an unimpeachable level of dignity, grace and humility. Nevertheless, there have been times when the Good Senator has fallen short of those ranks. In fact, he has, throughout the course of his presidential bid, played the 90% hand that fed, clothed, nurtured and made him:

President-elect Barack Obama, in one of the first policy statements of his transition, demanded that the Bush administration either submit the proposed U.S.-Iraq “status-of-forces agreement” to Congress or leave an opening for him to change it next year. Obama’s transition office posted a statement on its Web site, declaring that any agreement on the future of U.S. troops in Iraq “should be negotiated in the context of a broader commitment by the U.S. to begin withdrawing its troops and forswearing permanent bases.”
Fourth consecutive month of declines seen. The election heard around the world has ushered in a political sea change throughout the United States. But Barack Obama. the president-elect, can't look forward to smooth sailing. The recession, persistent distress in the housing and financial markets and mounting job losses will demand his attention, even as immediate remedies may prove elusive. Upcoming data on retail sales are likely to show that consumers, strapped by a credit crunch and rising unemployment, are cutting back on spending.

Two former British military officers are expected to give crucial evidence against Georgia when an international inquiry is convened to establish who started the country’s bloody five-day war with Russia in August. Ryan Grist, a former British Army captain, and Stephen Young, a former RAF wing commander, are said to have concluded that, before the Russian bombardment began, Georgian rockets and artillery were hitting civilian areas in the breakaway region of South Ossetia every 15 or 20 seconds.

In the early morning hours of November 5th, at a public park in the State of Illinois, Barack Obama claimed victory in his quest to become President of the United States. Barely noticed, however, was that also on November 5th, in that same State of Illinois, the winning lottery numbers for that day were 6…6…6.

The American people have now taken a stand against the policy eight years of the Bush Administration has come to represent. That is: the neo-colonial wars and the economic crisis. This is what history will remember. Peoples and governments worldwide now hope their expectations will come to be fulfilled. Many run the risk of being disappointed...

“The game has begun,” Rush Limbaugh told his radio audience of 15 million to 20 million last week. Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity dive shamelessly in, talking about the 'Obama recession' and other partisan lines. You have to give Rush Limbaugh a perverse kind of credit. At least when he is demonizing Barack Obama, fabricating Obama policies, blaming Obama for single-handedly causing the recession and the stock market crash, he doesn't pretend to be fair. Yea right Rush, you hypocrite pill head, the game started after the Bush rigged 2000 election and it really started when fascist right wing crazies murdered Kennedy.
