Uruknet: Dozens of Afghan civilians are dead and dozens more are wounded after a series of air strikes aimed at Taliban fighters fell short of their target and exploded in the middle of a wedding party in a mountainous region north of Kandahar city, tribal elders and wedding guests told The Globe and Mail on Tuesday. Survivors of the attacks, which occurred in the village of Wech Baghtu in the district of Shah Wali Kowt on Monday evening, said the majority of the dead and injured were women – the bombs struck while male and female wedding guests were segregated, as is customary in Kandahar province. They said the bodies of at least 36 women have been identified, and hundreds more men and women have been injured. Local leaders have yet to establish a firm casualty count because many of the victims remain buried beneath rubble, said Abdul Hakim Khan, a tribal elder from the district. Now That Obama Has Won . . . There is No Excuse

Now that a Democrat has been elected president, the Democrats in Congress have no excuse. They can no longer pretend that they have to "hold back" to win the election. They have no excuse to delay war crimes charges against Bush, Cheney and company for Iraq. They have no excuse to delay war crimes charges for torture. They have no excuse to delay criminal charges for spying on Americans. They have no excuse to delay criminal charges for 9/11. They will not only delay them but actively oppose all of this. Now is not the time for Democratic machine politics. Now is the time to implement true American values - cherished across the political aisle - of liberty and justice. Mossad agent Rahm Emanuel & CFR member Zbigniew Brzezinski will handle CFR member Barack Obama. They control the Democrats in Congress. Congress is occupied and will do whatever the Zionists want them to do. Plus -what exactly are "true American values"? -Old hat, right? Zionist values are the ones that will count in America until the American people take back their country. Israel-loving Obama is never going to do that for you. (He will actively oppose it.) You have to do it yourselves. Question is, do you have what it takes to do this? WUFYS: EMANUEL APPOINTMENT PRIORITY ONE: Obama's first decision may be who heads his White House operation. ``A president should pick a White House chief of staff first,'' says Vernon Jordan, the lawyer and investment banker who ran the transition for Bill Clinton in 1992. ``The chief of staff needs to be involved in the selection of other people in the government; that's the quarterback.'' Obama has spoken with Emanuel, the No. 4 ranking Democrat in the House of Representatives and former Clinton White House aide, in recent weeks about the post; if asked, Emanuel is expected to accept. McBama more of the same. WUFYS: In case you thought there was going to be CHANGE - A record number of Jews in CONGRESS: For those of you naive enough to think that OBAMA and the Democrats are going to bring about any significant CHANGE in the ZOG (zionist Occupied Government), the Jerusalem Post has another plan: A record number of Jews in Washington? "Forget Mr. Smith - this year, Mr. Stein is going to Washington. With an expected nationwide surge in Democratic turnout for Tuesday's US presidential elections, the number of Jews elected to Congress may reach record-levels. With Jewish candidates positioning to match the 2006 record of 30 House members and 13 senators, Democrats are hoping to capture at least four new House districts - including Alaska's lone House seat, contested by would-be freshman Ethan Berkowitz, and another from the Phoenix area. On the Republican side, Rep. Eric Cantor, a four-term congressman from Virginia who is currently the GOP's chief deputy whip, is rumored to be in the running for minority leader in the expected post-election changeover. The Senate total of Jewish leaders is expected to remain unchanged. ..." PIC: Hamas: There is no difference between Obama and McCain. John McCain conceded the 2008 presidential election, which he described as "the great honour of my life", in a generous and gracious speech to supporters gathered at the swish Biltmore hotel in his home state of Arizona. Standing beside his wife Cindy, his running mate Sarah Palin and her husband Todd, McCain went some way to restoring some of the dignity eroded by months of often rancorous campaigning.

With the possibility that Democrats might soon gain a filibuster proof majority in the Senate, Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) has been openly flirting with thoughts of voting with his conservative colleagues. Last week, ThinkProgress noted that prominent conservatives like Sen. John Ensign (R-NV) said he would welcome Lieberman “with open arms.”

If the U.S. government and the American armed forces understand the new culminating point, which is doubtful, they will withdraw from Iraq when they see it coming but before they actually hit it. They would thereby avoid a new round of fighting, which they would lose, and avoid a fighting withdrawal, which is always perilous. In other words, the time to get out of Iraq is now, while the going is good. The American military will probably ignore all this, as it ignores military theory generally.

It’s time to register Friends of Israel as an agent of a foreign power. Stuart Littlewood looks at how Israel lobbyists have penetrated deep into Britain’s security establishment, and argues that it’s time that Friends of Israel groups were registered as agents of a foreign power.

Collapse of US auto sales points to deep recession

Sales of new vehicles in the US plummeted in October as consumers—hit by growing unemployment, falling income and tighter credit—sharply reduced purchases of cars and trucks. Sales fell by a staggering 31.9 percent last month over the previous year in a further sign the US economy has entered a deep and protracted downturn, threatening the jobs of millions of working people.

A Debt Beyond Redemption

The word "redeem" means "buy back." It is used in Christian theology to describe what Jesus did for mankind in general (common grace) and individuals (special grace). It was used during the era of the gold standard to describe the right of a holder of paper money to redeem this money for gold coins at a fixed price. The debt of the United States government is now beyond redemption. Lew Rockwell: The Rip-Off Economy: Plutocrats vs. Regular people.

FLASHBACK: Georgia-Russia: It's a Classic Brzezinski Project!

Consider the frightening prospect that both Chossudovsky and Lendman have barely, but rightfully, hinted at: that Georgia's military buildup over the past years with a stooge at the helm of its affairs finally bursting her munificence in the provocative bombing of the Ossetian civilians in the middle of the night in the most despicable of ways, was an Anglo-American setup! A sting operation with a calculated opening gambit to compel the Russians to make their own forced move on the Eurasian Grand Chessboard precisely as they subsequently did!

Press sources in the 1948 occupied lands reported that the Israeli military prosecutor Avihai Mandelblit decided Tuesday not to impose a harsh penalty on the Israeli border officer who deliberately shot a handcuffed Palestinian young man in Bil'in. The Israeli prosecutor said that the indictment filed against officer Omri Boberg would be confined to "improper conduct" while Israeli military elements said that the decision was fair enough for the circumstances of the incident.

Since there is no hope that Pakistanis will make their military accountable to the people; that political leadership in Pakistan and the masses will liberate themselves from the military occupation and exploitation; that they will get a lesson from the past; that America, India and Israel will give up undermining Pakistan’s very existence, the whole South Asian region is at the verge of witnessing prelude to the Greater War in the Middle East.

Robots to Hunt Down "Uncooperative" Humans

The latest request from the Pentagon jars the senses. At least, it did mine. They are looking for contractors to provide a "Multi-Robot Pursuit System" that will let packs of robots "search for and detect a non-cooperative human". One thing that really bugs defence chiefs is having their troops diverted from other duties to control robots. So having a pack of them controlled by one person makes logistical sense. But I'm concerned about where this technology will end up.

Rover stares up at you, apparently yearning for a pat on the head. But behind those endearing doggy eyes, his mind is whirring, recalling the excitement of yesterday's walk: long grass, a sloping field falling away into woodland and a rabbit running for safety. With a gentle wag of his tail, he smiles at the memory, then wonders if he's got time for a nap before today's outing. An animal couldn't do that, could it?

Oil Creation Theory Challenged by Fuel-Making Fungus

November 5th, 2008
Categories: Nature, Environment, Science

Link: http://www.livescience.com/environment/081104-fungus-fuel.html

A newfound fungus living in rainforest trees makes biofuel more efficiently than any other known method, researchers say. In fact, it's so good at turning plant matter into fuel that researchers say their discovery calls into question the whole theory of how crude oil was made by nature in the first place. While many crops and microbes can be combined to make biofuels — including the fungi that became infamous as jungle rot during WWII — the newfound fungus could greatly simplify the process, its discoverers claim. Researchers have suggested that billions of acres of fallow farmland could be used to grow the raw material of biofuels. But turning corn stalks or switchgrass into fuel is a painstaking process and the end product is expensive and not entirely friendly to the environment. The fungus, which has been named Gliocladium roseum, stands out in the crowd.
