Fraser Authors Book on Middle East Conflict -
“Palestine: Waiting by Lazarus' Tomb”
Lyrical, satirical, hard-edged and breathtaking, “Palestine: Waiting by Lazarus’ Tomb” by Genevieve Cora Fraser offers a poetry and prose review of the intractable and heartbreaking Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The book is over 560 pages and contains historic photos of Palestine, dating from the late 1800s to the mid-1940s, which can be found in the Library of Congress.
“Of all the photos I uncovered, the one that took my breath away is of the ruins of the synagogue at Capernaum, on the shore of the Sea of Galilee.

The photo contains a carving in stone of a structure on wheels, possibly the Arc of the Covenant,” Fraser commented. “Jesus taught in the synagogue at Capernaum (Luke 4:31-44). After leaving Nazareth, he made Capernaum his home and chose his first four disciples from the village – Peter, James, John and Andrew. That means that Jesus Christ might have looked at the very image that is contained in that photograph.”
Journalist, playwright, poet, historian and novelist, Fraser began her writing career at a PBS affiliate in New Hampshire and later served as editor of the Today Paper of Greater Lawrence (Massachusetts). Fraser’s poetry and articles have been translated into a dozen or more languages and published in a variety of media outlets online and in hard copy throughout the world.
